Anyway check the source below for a preview of what's coming on Jicho Pevu..they've got exclusive, unseen CCTV footage as things unfolded. And ask serious questions. It's coming some time this month. http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/ktn/video/watch/2000070657/-inside-story-the-truth-behind-westgate-siege-promo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen> -

Somalia Al-Shabab claims Nairobi Westgate Kenya attack

There are now reports or suggestions that someone, namely Uhuru, took advantage of the situation. It has now come out that civilian vigilantes together with the REECE unit of GSU who arrived minutes after the siege but thought it was an armed robberry, secured most of the mall and pushed the thugs to one area of the supermarket. Then from nowhere, the KDF stormed the place and ordered the police to abandon the mission even killing a GSU commander in the process. Thus creating a vacuum that let the terrorists to regroup. Now the questions that many in the media are asking is who ordered the military? Was it intentional from Uhuru's side to prolong the chaos for their own good ( considering Ruto and Uhuru's ICC case) or was Uhuru bypassed by Kimemia et al to create such a scenario to postpone ICC. Remember many in the government are plotting ways to delay Uhuru's appointment with Bensouda. Kenyan media is even reporting most of the terrorists escaped within the first hour of the attack through a tunnel that even didnt include a map of the mall that was given to KDF. , Soomaalinimo maba jirto!! And shall we blame this on Uhuru? -
QansaxMeygaag;979923 wrote: ^^ When you have people sent to save hostages looting jewellery, where do you turn to for solution? A lot of property was looted by the so-called saviors So you thought the saviours were angels as in the fairy tales! Do you expect a policeman earning £200 a month to spare chains worth thousands of pounds. C'mon even that don't happen in your happy-perfect West. As inhumane as it may seem, this is Africa. Apophis; Not so much as intelligence failure, but failure to act on that intelligence. Cabinet must be reshuffled asap (and the hotelier should be the first one to be sacked). True. It was a matter of sidelining the intelligence bodies. And thats what the parliamentary group will be grilling some security officials and ministers about later this week. As you said, many are recommending Mr. Ole Lenku to leave the security docket. The guy is as clueless as a hotelier will be in security matters.

Kenya's media were the first ones to report. Four Cabinet Secretaries and the Kenya Defence Force boss were warned that al-Shabaab terrorists were planning a Mumbai-style attack in Nairobi, where they would storm a building and hold hostages. The warnings started in January and increased early this month when the Cabinet Secretaries, who are members of the National Security Council, were told of plans to cause mayhem in Nairobi and Mombasa on September 13 and 20. According to counter-terrorism reports seen by the Saturday Nation, Cabinet Secretaries Julius Rotich (Treasury), Joseph ole Lenku (Interior), Amina Mohammed (Foreign Affairs), Raychelle Omamo (Defence) and KDF boss General Julius Karangi were alerted on the impending attacks. The report said terrorists planned to storm a building with guns and grenades and “probably hold hostages”. http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Did-Karangi-ministers-ignore-terror-warning/-/1056/2010420/-/b7sfagz/-/index.html And now the media hot on the heels of some ministers and security officials. Did the masterminds of the Westgate terror escape within an hour of launching the attack? Could the terrorists who remained behind to continue the senseless killing and repulse security forces also slip away unnoticed? And what is the fate of the hostages thought to have been held in the siege? What about the destruction of the mall, did the military bomb it? And who looted the shops? These are some of the hard questions that Kenyans are seeking answers to as sources reveal new accounts that have not been formally released by the government, further intensifying the mystery that surrounds the four-day siege. http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Hard-questions-emerge-over-handling-of-terror-attack/-/1056/2011514/-/4wf74hz/-/index.html

. Sharif Ahmed Abdirizak was arrested as he tried to flee Kenya . The British citizen allegedly had downloaded maps of shopping mall . Refused to give up password and pretended not to know his phone number This guy's story and injuries seems suspicious. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2436955/Briton-held-Kenya-carnage-map-mall-laptop-Stunning-new-evidence-UK-confirmed-dead--report-shows-Kenya-tipped-off.html -

Knowing Kiinyaatiga mentality and their botched rescue attempts, they need to justify. Masaakiin ayee iska soo qab qabteen. This reminds me qaraxyadii Islii ka dhacaaye late last year and earlier of this year. After one of those qaraxyo waxee soo aruuriyeen shan wiilal oo Soomaali Carab ahaa oo Islii ka xamaalan jiray, accusing them being the suspects. Here is what the Guardian paper wrote: The Guardian This "Kenyan man and his two granddaughters" are Soomaali, too, yaa ogaado. They claimed they also killed "five" suspects, untold other dead suspects buried under the collapsed floors and plus those eleven. All those to hide kuwii baxsaday. According to this witness: They are also reports that the "suspects" leased a store within the mall and in the past month were storing weapons. That is the only reason they could have four days nonstop shooting, Kiinyaatiga allege. That is one of their poor theories. Maxee wax isku qasanyihiin. So in your own little world there are no terrorists killed, no suspects arrested (and all those under custody are innocent), therfore, following your logic, Westgate attack didn't even take place. Waa cajiib. Bal inoo waran and tell us the details of where the killers ended up since you seem to know the nitty gritties of the situation ama 'kenyaatiga' killed those innocent women and children on tv? -

Another botched attempt by Kiinyaatiga. Sad, but there are always collateral damage in such situations. The initial shock of the government will obviously result in innocent people coming into harm. So according to the woman's narration, the rumours that these thugs were giving muslims free pass was a hoax. For those who doesn't understand Swahili, the husband drove to Somali girls to the mall for shopping and both girls have been shot. The husband worked for their dad and owns Haashi Petroleum) -

GAROODI;979120 wrote: Kenya is weak. 4 days Alshabab have controlled the shopping centre. This will be a disaster for the safari tourists. What will Kenya do without tourism. Do you really think anyone will want to visit Nairobi??? This is an absolute disaster for Kenya which is exactly what Alshabab wanted just the other day I was watching the news they said their objective is economic stagnation or failure for Kenya. What will this mean for the Somalis in Kenya??? Are you mistaking Kenya's disciplined forces to your Mogadishu/Hargeisa militia-cum-national police? That will carpet-bomb anything that moves in such a situation. Or you wanted Russian style of gassing everyone in the building! This is a hostage situation, dimwit. A hostage situation that demands extra caution and following certain protocols to save as much innocent lives as possible. And Kenya will come out stronger after this incident. -

Though FGM is not something to make fun of, but it's true, as you put it, it stands in the way of experiencing the full American dream for some. I wonder if there are no circumcised women that enjoy their conjugal rights. I've even witnessed (on tv) Somali women claiming women who are cut not only do they dislike intercourse, but also have a slim chance of getting pregnant. Now I wonder tobanka cunug ee kaa soo horboodayo marka aad tagtid guryaha Somalida sida ey kudhasheen. As much as I am against FGM laakin some of these stories puts anti-FGM enthusiasts off!

Blackflash;968445 wrote: The chest pounding in this thread is unwarranted. The collapse, or at the very least a significant downsizing, of Somalia's military was inevitable. Consider the terrible conditions the naval ships of the time were left in shortly after the Soviets were no longer offering their services in maintenance and repair. How can you reminisce about a military that was never under complete Somali control? Somalis are awfully inclined to exaggeration as regards to their fairy-tale pride, don't you think? Somalia, as my class six history classes will attest to, was among the weakest economies in their post-independence rise. Due to over-reliance on meagre banana, human labour and livestock export, the country was forced to entirely rely on aid from 70s to 80s. Somalia's debt in this period was equated to 75 years' earnings of its prime exports (for the country to pay back). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_history_of_Somalia However the country may have had a fair military muscles that primarily depended on human bravery rather than weaponry power as corroborated by the 77 war. Laakiin, if Somalia had been in peace since independence to realise it's full potential, it may [must] have superseded some economic giants of Africa today. Some African countries, such as Kenya, had their economies at par with Singapore and South Korea right after independence, but today's comparison of these African and Asian countries is but futile. Had Somalia had the chance, considering it's economic potential and determined citizenry (at independence), I believe the game would be of different tune today. We pray the country gets it lost glory, however tiny or exaggerated.

Its imperative one has to 'eat' in Africa, but the rate these guys are doing it is mind-boggling considering Somalia's meagre income flow. 12m out 17m unaccounted for? Their rate even puts experienced dwellers such as Kenya to shame. But I guess this is one of the least problems the country faces. Somalia has a long way to go!
