No, we didn't talk qabiil, just mentioned the cities in Somalia he visited to show that he actually did, some small towns were mentioned that people don't usually know of. I read into his history and realised why he reacted that way, no influential person has ever reacted that, that I've interacted with.

Not too long ago, my friend and I are walking towards a station on our way home from college. We are standing outside this run down station in West London when my friend looks back and says 'OMG, you won't believe this, that's the former Prime Minister of Somalia'. I look over his shoulder and see this man I don't believe it at first because, what the hell is he doing outside this old station, all alone, standing there looking like a schemy politician as usual. He was wearing one of them old grey coats, a scarf around the neck and his hair turned quite gray, so it wasn't easy to recognize him. Now, my friend asks me if we should go over to him, and I say lets do it. We go over and ask if it's him and he says yes, we shake hands and introduce ourselves. The conversation is now about Somali youth and the importance of education. I'm not talking a lot and letting my friend talk. This is where the conversation takes an awkward road. They talk about Somalia and how we (the youth) should be the future of Somalia, it's "brain". My friend mentions that he himself was in Somalia for a few years and travelled around Galkacyo, Burtinle and Balibusle. The conversation dies down and the usual Somali way of attempting to extend the conversation happens "haa, aad iyo aad, waa sidhaasa". Mr Galaydh doesn't look like he wants to take the conversation further after the mentioning of the cities and is quite awkward and we hastily say goodbye. ;)

magaaladda Laascaanood iyo soo dhaweyn diiran oo uu kala kulmay
Somalia replied to Wiil Cusub's topic in Politics
Laascaanood is such an underdeveloped city. It's on par with Baidoa but at least the WFP, WHO and the UN know about that city... They need to gain some principles. -
What the hell, subhanallah, just lost my appetite, not because of the child but the interviewer questioning the kid. God help her!!!

Thankful;750383 wrote: Strange because the NY Times article that you quoted - as if it is the truth - states that the UN Monitoring group has deemed this a violation of the arms embargo. Do you understand, this Raxanreeb article is claiming that the Puntland government is violating international law. The government is not permitted (yet) to bring in military hardware like this. That is why the finance minister stated it is food and aid! The Raxanreeb article is not positive! Hah. Listen, I'm talking about this particular shipment not being in violation of the arms embargo. If there were weapons on board there wouldn't be photographers around. Not all military equipment are against arms embargoes. I do think I am able to figure out their motives

Thankful;750374 wrote: The article you are posting from raxanreeb states this " Mercenary trainers arrive in Puntland with military HARDWARE I am saying that the trucks are not military hardware, which could be a violation of Somalia's arms embargo. The trucks are aid and are loaded with food and medicine. Nothing about those trucks say "military" or even look military - regardless of what raxanreeb might say! Not everything Raxanreeb says is a lie, they've gone anti-Puntland after the Garsoor operation but that doesn't mean it's not true. The trucks aren't going to be used for humanitarian purposes, but anti-piracy operations of the coast. It's just the truth. The arms embargo has been violated hundreds of times by everyone, no one even cares anymore. This isn't even a violation...

No one fought for Laascaanood, you fought a local militia, and SSC was created for the reason that there wasn't a counter attack. -

Thankful;750289 wrote: Looool I guess the back of the trucks aren't carrying cargo right? The UAE is donating the trucks with nothing on the back of them and the tarps on the back of them are not covering any supplies? I know you are new to the site, but we show more class and maturity then insulting people. Furthermore, you started this thread with an article from raxanreeb. So do you actually believe that the image and the article from raxanreeb match? I get it, you are just trying to generate attention with these ridiculous posts........and sadly I gave you some. I don't think you understand. Let me repeat, the trucks, will be used at bases on the coastline. Do you understand? These are new trucks, do you understand? I don't surf the internet for attention since New York Times already reports on these matters, but it must hurt seeing the progress of Puntland. I like your hating though.

It's not the cargo, you moron, it's the trucks that will be used on the 5 different bases along the coast, that WAS build by an Arab donor. I know it hurts reading that New York Times article.

The report provides new details about an operation by the South African firm Saracen International to train a 1,000-member antipiracy militia for the government of Puntland, a semiautonomous region in northern Somalia, effectively creating “ the best-equipped indigenous military force anywhere in Somalia. ” Using shell companies, some of which the United Nations report links to Erik Prince, who founded the Blackwater Worldwide security company, Saracen secretly shipped military equipment — which the report says violated an arms embargo — into northern Somalia on cargo planes leaving from Uganda and the United Arab Emirates. Who would deliver weapons by putting their name on the package to look like humanitarian aid? Sheekaa la inoo disaya It's not JUST humanitarian aid. Look at the trucks, they are new but dusty and they were donated by Dubai where Saracen operates from.

Apple says company co-founder Steve Jobs has died (AP) – 2 minutes ago CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and former CEO who invented and masterfully marketed ever-sleeker gadgets that transformed everyday technology, from the personal computer to the iPod and iPhone, has died. He was 56. Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause. "We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today," the company said in a brief statement. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve" Jobs had battled cancer in 2004 and underwent a liver transplant in 2009 after taking a leave of absence for unspecified health problems. He took another leave of absence in January — his third since his health problems began — before resigning as CEO six weeks ago. Jobs became Apple's chairman and handed the CEO job over to his hand-picked successor, Tim Cook. The news Apple fans and shareholders had been dreading came the day after Apple unveiled its latest version of the iPhone, just one in a procession of devices that shaped technology and society while Jobs was running the company.

I'm 19. But listen, this forum is very tight knitted. It's hard to get new members and everything is moderated and has to be approved. That's very wrong and the problem is the same across all Somali forums. AllSomaliForums was a free one but it was short lived and didn't have any members, SomaliNet is banning people they disagree with.
