All I want is that it must be done probably and the consent of the people must be ascertain; and finally, it has to be done under the glaring light of the day not in a dark alleyways or between two leaders who are in a hurry to pass something fishy. To get consent and let something grow, one must first soften the ground. Which the current goverment has been doing from day one. Second, Somali politics is never done in daylight. But atleast they(politicians) pretend to work and do their business during day light in offices. Hence these so called talks that are held in glaring light in fancy hotels in Dubai and London with Journalist present to report back to innocent folks as yourself.
  2. XX, still acting as if you dont know anything. Your becoming quite a good spokesman.
  3. Oodweyneh, its a done deal. Just accept it. These so called talks are just theatre to entertain folks as your self. As if Somalis need foreigners to facilitate them. Knowing Somalis and if they want something done, will reach a deal in nightly chewing sessions way before sunrise and start of whatever meeting.
  4. Ngonge, its quite clear what is going on. That there is a deal. And I can very well unserstand that it cant be made public till the Somali public opinion(note SL and Somalia)has been softed on the issue. Its a matter of weeks maybe months till folks calm down and accept package deal.
  5. Wiil Cusub, what the MP is not very relevent. But the mentioned facts of SL goverment and Fowziya's visit.

  8. http://www.haatuf.net/2012files/4667.html The SL leadership seems to know what it is doing and is fully cooperating with the Foreign Ministry of Somalia. This indicates there is a deal. Just a matter of time when public will be informed.
  9. Lool@funny thread. Reminds me of the time I was in Nairobi, couple of times ppl asked If I was from Gedo, cause I looked like a Gedo man.
  10. This is a correct move and according to the constitution. Read article 48, 49, 50 and 51.
  11. Not a good move. Previous goverment turned down so many diffrent offers from Companies to lease and manage the port. These companies are only interested in using the cash cow fees rather then invest heavily in the port. Seems like another get rich sceme from Qurmiye.
  12. War hada nabad rabtid. Qoriga dhig oo isku dhiib dawlada Somalia ama Somaliland. Choice kale ma jirto.

When the young child who has never laid eyes on the Horn is indoctrinated with distrust what hope is there? My father was targeted by the Barre regime, personally targeted to the point that he was in hiding for some time- thanks to corruption though he fled Somalia on a government scholarship to further his studies in the UK,lol. That said though NORF i knew that it was the fault of a regime and not the average person who happens to share a lineage with the old man (AUN). My mother was in Gaalkacyo when it was bombed by the government, yet again i don't blame others, just the regime. Now i realise the situation was much worse in Hargeysa, in terms of the bombings but nonetheless very few were safe- hallmark of a dictatorship really. SL was not the only region that was neglected, many others were but what i can never understand is why is there this fixation by some to re-write history, to change it to a systematic targeting of only Somalilanders? How do we overcome that should be the primary question. Maybe you should stop rewriting history yourself?

No one clan will ever be able determining another clan's destiny thus, SL is a clan project that has almost a zero chance of securing an international recognition with the consideration of all the empirical facts on the ground. There are many methods of addressing ethnic conflicts where mutual trust of the fractured societies can be restored, should we decide to live together, perhaps those models could be useful. Which ethnic conflict?
  15. Siilanyo waa geesi and genious. He has earned his place in the history books.
  16. Oba will you apologize for your comments about Bantus?
  17. I find that 'warya ni warya' insulting, its generalizing us! Specialy when its used by a Somali Kenyan and directed towards a Somali from Somalia. Xaal bixiya reer Kenyaay!
  18. Another fufu poisened sijui. They are becoming more present and dominant. There should be a quote for Somali-Kenyans on SOL.

  20. Why the hell are they waving the American flag against the President of Somalia.? Have they no shame?
  21. Odaygii Abtigiis, ma midlife crisis ayuu ku jiraa? Is that why he is remembering and revisiting all those sweathearts from his youth.
  22. Haatu;909936 wrote: I agree it's not much, but at least we have a few doctors, teachers and some electricity. The day Somalia matches that we're good to go Haatu, why would think that it would be diffrent for Somaliland? Dont they want the same?
  23. Haatu, NFD doesnt even have an Airport let alone a University. I am wondering what makes you think that NFD is in a much better condition then Somaliland. From what I have seen, NFD is a military zone. And I wouldnt dare to make a statement that NFD is in a much better condition then Somaliland. P.S. I have seen many folks from NFD and even Kenyans working in Somaliland for NGO's, schools, Universities and business. I wonder how many folks from Somaliland go to NFD to seek a job, lately?

So, by conceding for Somaliweyn instead of Somalia you save face. Capiche? Oodka, if the butler earns a better wage in Nairobi than in Mogadishu, than can you really blame him for his choice of employment? Wadani, I wouldn't mind joining Somalia today but the reality on the ground dictates otherwise. The Kenyans aren't willing to let go and the populace will only join once Somalia can offer the services they currently receive, no matter how small. As for Somaliland, economically today it is no better than Somalia. The S/land population won't suffer a drop in quality of life if they join Somalia unlike NEP. To put it simply, you guys are further up the road to Somaliweyn than us and will reach the destination sooner. That doesn't mean we're not coming, we're merely behind you. Capiche? The Caravan has been upgraded into a ferry and is waiting. :D Biggest hypocrit. Kulahaa Kenya has better service.
