Financially: Direct budget support and funding to goverment and regional processes. On Somaliland: Security: Funding of Police trainings. Political: - Financial: Funding of INGO, UN agencies development programmes. No direct budget support for goverment. Clearly and objectively the International community has much and much more leverage in Somalia, because the complete goverment, security And political process in Somalia is directly steered and supported by IC.

Odey, this poem is a literary expression written in a prayer form. The very nature of poetry is that it shouldnt be taken literary, as it is based on a individual mode of expression. This particular one is a tribute to the Gedo and Garbaharay folks and celebrating their sense for nationalism.

Odey and Gheelle, I am afraid you havent understood it. This is poetry, a form of literary art which uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language. You need to read between the lines. This particular poem emphasizes affection.

I am quite sceptical if Somaliland and Somalia will reach a deal in Turkey. Turkey doesnt have the leverage needed to push for a compromise in Somaliland and neither in Somalia.

Kismayo is not the only case. The same 'kind' of militias are trying to hold on to power in other regions as well, like Marka, Beletweyn, Baidoa, Galkacyo. This could have been a nice thread. If only Xiinfaniin's definition of Somali leaders wasnt so narrowly defined to only include his clan leaders, he would have continued posting more pics. After all Sheick Suufi was one of the great Somali Leaders in history, founder of the Qadiriyah movement, community leader, poet, scholar,etc.

Kenya has limited leverage(boots on the ground paid by international community). But can easily be replaced by other AMISOM boots, like recently arrived Sierra Leone troops in Kismayo. So yes the goverment knows what is doing. Its the Kenyans who are bluffing.

True that. Our people have no conflicts with eachother, the conflict for power in Jubbaland is one between Kenya and Somalia. I sincerely hope Somalia will win.

There is nothing wrong with appointed Governors till we can have stability and can oeganize (one man one vote) elections in Somalia.
