  1. This thread is dedicated to world music. World Music is traditional music or folk music of a culture that is created and played by indigenous musicians and is closely related to the music of the regions of their origin. So post your non-western and non-Somali, World Music video's from around the globe.

  3. Clearly, many people here havent visited the SSC region. Otherwise they would know people in Erigavo and Lasanod choose for Somaliland. And if you want to interest them for Somalia then you should come up with a better offer. I hear the SL Goverment is working on a very attractive offer to tempt the rest of the border villages. Wonder what offer Sheick Shariif is working to draw those regions back to Somalia?

Granted this to be true, however, If that is the case then why does your politician believe and I quote "A boy born in Adis Ababa is closer to me than the one born in Mogadishu" I wonder why? Just ponder. Those are his words and not mine. I clearly dont agree with him. Now, your politician brought 30.000 Xabashi's to Moqdishu and slaughtered tens of thousands of people and destroyed the city of Moqdishu. May I assume you agree with those action and share his line of thinking?
  5. Human Rights kulahaaa... Its a welcome change for the average police officer but I detest these patternalistic "development" and "human rights" projects initiated by the aid industries. They lack complete understanding of the Somali situation.
  6. Explain how for example the 10.000 Somali's prisoners in Tanzana have diffrent interest?
  7. Alxamdullulah. Moqdishu, is rising up from its ashes. Cant wait to see my home again, inshallah
  8. Scandinavian Embassy in Berlin,Germany This is what I dreamt yesterday. Djibouti, Somaliland, Somalia, ******ia and NFD having a common Somali foreign policy and sharing Embassies. The Somali nations being represented every in the world and defending their common interest and their people. Can it become reality one day?

  11. In the first part (14.40min) Siilaanyo even appears in the video.

There will be no power in Baidoa as Al-Shabaab is mostly made up of people from those regions. How will SL be able to negotiate between PL and the south when PL trusts the south more than it does SL? Just step into a café in London owned by SLers and you'll see why. PL and the south can determine their own future. There is no hostility, we look at the bigger picture now. You think Al Shabaab will just go and dissapear? Or that AMISOM will do the job?
  13. I think there is no other country more familiar with the situation in Somalia then Somaliland. Somaliland is more familiar with the situation then Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia,Sudan, Egypt, etc. Somaliland has a bigger interest in a peacefull solution for Somalia then all those countries that have tried to take the reconciliation initiatives. So, therefor its only logic that if Somaliland's supports is needed (to facilitate reconciliation efforts, support the pacification of Somalia, or support governance) it does all that it can. Ofcourse under the rigth circumstances and with certain conditions.

The troops voluntarily organised themselves in several cities across Sanaag's vast districts in 'Dooxada Dhabanaas' 4km's outside of Jiidali and several technicals gun-loaded trucks left Xingalool, Ceelbuh, Buraan, Baaragahaqol and Hadaaftimo. Traditional Elders said that troops acting on their own initiative assembled in Dooxada Dhabanaas and several 'technicals' trucks with guns on top left Hadaaftimo City. Furthermore Puntland Commanders came via Ceel Daahir to Sanaag in order to strengthen the local troops there who have organised themselves independently. This resulted in embarrassing halt of Silaanyo's trip as the local pro Puntland troops didn't recognise Siilaanyo's position and title of President which brings down Siilaanyo's 'false claim' of being the President in those regions of Sool and Sanaag. Thus he had to fly back to Hargaysa on a plane. A Great Victory for Sanaag and Puntland. I have been to Erigavo. There is no such things as clan enclaves of East or West Erigavo.
  15. I agree. Small Islands dont face the challenges real as countries do. Most Islands in Africa (Seychelles, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Zanzinar, etc) are doing quit wel in terms of stability and governance. There is little choice then to cooperate when you are surrounded by nothing else then the Sea.

  18. I actually wrote them a letter demanding that Riyaale should be awarded the price. Koley wee na qabyaladeyeen.
  19. I spoke to several elders from diffrent clans who participated in the Buroa Conference in May 1991. It was a Clan Conference of all the Northern Clans. And one the participants from SSC region told me that they as SSC delegates were the biggest supporters of the idea that Somaliland regained its independance. Because they were afraid of the USC/SNM coalition creating its own Goverment and they as SSC would become marganalized. And with Somaliland that coalition would definetly end. He also tol me(confirmed by another Awdal elders who participated) that SNM was deeply divided on this issue, and that actually the most leaders of the SNM opposed it while the younger ones supported it. The Awdal eldere tolm me that they unanismouly supported the outcome of the meeting and to let everyone they called up the BBC back in Borama to let everyone they still stand behind the outcome. Because some of the SNM leaders who opposed the outcomes hoped that Awdal elders would oppose it later. So the Awdal elders did the opposit and told the world they stand firm behind the outcome. The history of Somaliland is quite interesting and a bit more complicated then those blinded by clan think.
