  1. A_Khadar you comment mostly on Somaliland threads. Does that make you a clannist or a Somalilander?
  2. Is there a Timacade poem on this issue as well?
  3. Interesting debate. Profesoor Xuseen Warsame(hailing from Somaliland) arguments that Somaliland should unite with Somalia, while Professor Dr.Ciyow (hailing from Somalia) states that Somaliland should be recongnized by international community. Maan so bislaaninaa?

You're considered to be under the umbrella of another tribe LOL. Do you really think the International Community would recognize a Minority as a Sovereign State? LMAO Well, the topic is that even a TFG minister of Interior is supporting this "minority". The Defense and Foreign Affairs Ministers of Somalia belong to this minority. Dont worry about the international community. Worry about forced within the TFG.

  6. Do you know what President Sheick Shariief of the TFg and President of Djibouti Omar Guelleh told Xaglatoosiye and Garaad Jaamac went they visited them? That SSC should go and talk to Somaliland and that they were prebared to mediate.

Cambuulo iyo bun;759147 wrote: as far as i am concerned nobody bringed a solution so everyone lets cut the bullshiet and lets addres the problem will ya Cambuulo, The issue has long been thaught to be a social issue, which could be solved by inter-marriage alone. But there are enough cases of clan inter-marriage and still it didnt bring the hoped revolution. That is why I think its effect maybe social(discrimination, etc) but it's cause is more a political and economical issue created by the other clans to gain economic and political domination. Therefor I think we need a radical movement who advocates for revolution rather then a social evolutionary process. -For example, we should demand for a land rights and own territory(deegaan, has great sympolic value in Somali society!). -Political share of things. For example MP's, Ministerial and other public positition. -Economic dimension: Most jobs done by the clans are low paying jobs and people pay far to little for the services provided. Why? So some others can profit from it? So the goverment needs to install a Council for Artisan workers who determines the fair and equal prices and pay for services provided. (a hair cut will cost you 0,20 dollar cent in Hargeisa???). Siilaanyo has installed ad advising committee to advise him how a quota system can be introduced for the mentioned clans and women. He has installed an young and bright Presidential advisor for Minority Clan Issue's. And thats a good first step, but clearly noy enough.
  10. I think this statement is a genuine cry for peace. If only someone from that particular region would hear their cries.

It is as if everyone shares the Minister’s position, or, to be more precise, southerners do not simply care anymore about Somalia’s unity. 12. What ever Farah Macalin has done right or wrong. He is only accountable to his voters in Kenya. I suggest everyone to focus on their own politicians, that could lead to more constructive solutions.

  14. Guys, the Jubba region is the most resource richest and divers region on the Somali peninsula. We all know its demographical and political history and which sub-clan of the Dhinac u yaac family came when, lives where and fought for what. Fact of the matter is that none of the sub-clans can exclusivly claim the control or ownership of the region on clan basis, specially not today when the region is still controlled by Al Shabaab consisting of locals from any clan living in the region. Clan dominations, clan control or clan power is not the answer. Of all places in Somalia, specially not in the Jubbas, where the last clan wars in Somalia took place, where the fighting clans all lost and which forms today the biggest stronghold of Al Shabaab. The only way to wipe Al Shabaab on a permanent basis out from the region is to come up with a better answer that they have based on diversity, brotherhood, justice and equals rights for ALL the people living in the region . P.S. Otherwise we have to ask Siilaanyo to send a peacekeeping force, that should unite the family.

  16. After 30 years of civil war, 20 years without a functioning government, 17 failed central goverments, reconciliation facilitated(some would say interference) by all neighbouring countries, being classified as failed, the most needy and the worst country in the world and decades of heated debates on cause and effect of the conflict, rights and wrongs, clan size's and territorities, governance distributions and structures, I have the feeling that Somali's have become ripe for peace and are are slowly coming to a consensus on most national and the wide issue's. And that is just a matter of time for the right leadership to take the initiative and follow the right path for reconciliation and building consensus on governing structure for Somalia. How I come to this idea that the Somali conflict is coming to an end? Well, for more then two decades the political discussions between Somali's here in my home town, other places and online was quite polarized. People were very principal and almost 'idealistic' about their own political goals, stood firm behind their clan representative/ factions/warlords cq politicians or felt more or less ownership about a particular goverment depending on who has which post or how posts were divided, debates were very heated and emotional, people seemed to lack any empathy for eachothers vieuwpoints which most of the time led to a complete lack of nuance, political polarization and a deadlock for reaching consensus on the way forward. But nowadays most Somali's I speak to a very nuanced, dont have extreme own agenda's and ideals about how a future Somalia look like, how many posts their clan should get, show more empathy for eachothers stance and seem to be more ready then ever for reaching a Somali wide concensus. What do you guys think? Is a Somali wide concensus indeed within reach? Or does it only that way because the focus and the stakes shifted to regions of origin(SSC, Mudug, Galmudug, ASWJ, Goballada dhexe, Azania, etc) ?
