Somaliland Singers Composers Thread - History and Legacy
Carafaat replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in General
Xaaji, you seem to confuse goverment, governance and culture. Somaliland has an own goverment and seeks recongnition as an independant country, but it shares language, culture, history with Djibouti, Somalia, Somali region in Ethiopia and Somali region in Kenya. A famous Afari singer, weather he is born, lives, votes, supports Eritrea, Ethiopia or Djibouti or any other country, above all he is an Afari singer. -
Somalilanders and Puntlanders have to undestand that they need eachother. These little skirmishes on SOL have to be seen as harmless proof of the innocent hate and love relations that exist between loveers or neighbours and therefor should not be taken too serious. Keep it mind that one always needs a stable, peacefull and good relationship with the neighbour. Irrelevant of the future governing structure of Somalia and the status of Somaliland's Indepedance, we will always be neigbours and are closer to eachother in terms of distance, family relations, economic interest then with anyone else. Weather we be part of one country like some want, 2 independant countries or it will all become clan states SNM, SSC, SSDF. Clan wars, fighting and suffering of people in Bosasso will affect Erigavo and vice versa. And what ever happens in Las Anod affects Garowe, vica versa.

One of the causes of this issue is that Educational level has increased enourmly the past decade, while at the same time there is a need for less educated labour force. Creating a mismatch in the labour market.

Opposition parties in furor over IRI report on democracy in Somaliland
Carafaat replied to Siciid1986's topic in Politics
No, better check the election result. Kulmite did non win with 64% of the votes, they hardy even reached 50%. And its not only about this political poll, there is more. -
Dont shoot the messengers. Even on the Erigavo issue it were Somalilanders who posted it here on SOL. So you cant blame them for posting NEWS on SOL. that is the idea of having discussion on current political events. The fact that more more negative news coming from Puntland is not the fault of XX, Saalax or any else. You better spend your energy on trying to understand what is happening in your State and how to improve the situation.

Opposition parties in furor over IRI report on democracy in Somaliland
Carafaat replied to Siciid1986's topic in Politics
IRI has been really biased in this Survey. It was conducted among 300 young people from a certain neighbourhoud in Hargeysa and not really representative for Somaliland as a whole. These foreign NGO's better stay out of Somaliland politics or they better leave the country. -
She looks hungry.

I like the fact that you gave up your whole state to form a party, so you can BREAK Somaliland from within. What an ingenious idea. Some folks say this party was created to prevent future SSC State others think Siilaanyo is using it to destroy Somaliland from within so he can to Muqdisho.

Sirdoonka Imaaraadka Carabta oo Xabsiga dhigay Boqor Cismaan Buur-madow
Carafaat replied to Siciid1986's topic in Politics
Whatever some might think about the persona Boqor Buurmadoow's and his politics within Somaliland. He is regarded by many as the (un) official Ambassador of Somaliland and as a traditional elder of the Somali people. Therefor if the Somaliland goverment has anything to do with this arrest, I advise them to ask the Emirati authorities to let him go asap. Otherwise this could serieusly damage the image of the goverment. -

Jacaylbaro;760269 wrote: Maybe you did not understand the politics of "Inoo kala gura" ... Yes the days were there when the singers, composers and other great artists were under one flag feeling the dream of Unity is somehow within a reach. Those years are over ,,, and it is time of the "Inoo kala gura wixii isugu keen jiray" theory has taken place. Now look and see if Hadraawi talks about Beletweyn again ,,, see if Jubba sings about Batalaale anymore . Time is changing sxb and we are not a "one country" anymore. We still share the "Af-Soomaali" though ............... and that is a bonus. Hadraawi waaki shalay Muqdishu joogay, fanaaniin kalena Djibouti Omer Guelleh ugu heysa. Adeer, siyasadu maha waxa ee umadi ku midowdo ee waa dadnimadooda waxa ka dhaxeya. waxbaa isku dhex khaldisaa. -

vote rigging. where are the independant observers?

Dont forget that Amiir doenst make the news he simply makes commentary in the form of a cartoon relating to current events or personalities. For example, see this recent thread below where many comments are very critical or negative towards the Samater brothers. http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/showthread.php/59951-Professor-Axmed-Ismacil-samatar-There-is-hardly-any-Somalia-any-more?highlight=Professor

Abdul;760539 wrote: Looooooooooooooooooooooool, how naive. dont underestimate the power of the vote. Most movements would love to participate and strive for progressive change through the political process if given fair chance. Do you think any Somali jabhad (SSDF,SNM,ONLF,USC,etc) would have picked up the guns if they were given a fair chance to participate in the political process and strive for progressive change through votes rather then bullets?

following the Conference its quite exciting. its the game of politics but then played by an underdog on a higher caliber. like an interesting soccer game at the Worldcub quarter finals, played by a country who never made it to the selection of the wolrdcub. love it.

women over exaggerated make up, specially Somali women. Like if men can tell the diffrence. Specially in weddings they over exaggarate with the wite stuff on the face, makes them look like vampires.

I have used the same parfume for the last 10 years. sometimes i tried something diffrent, but nothing smells so good as Azarro.
