Conservarive party won the last elections after more then a decade of Labour.

The fact that we are an oral society who give little value in actual written contracts and because of our extensive network, mouth to mouth adverstising or propaganda spreads fastthus making us easier pray for these ponzi schemes. Did you know there are even stock listed ponzi schemes or pyramid games? And this oil deal contains many elements of a ponzi scheme/pyramide game.

Back in somewhere in mid 2000s, he used to email me from Nayroobi, telling me to call this special number that he got from this 'congratulations, you won' website. Since the phone number was an American number, he told me to call it for him. I told him iska iloow waxaas, oo waa beentood. He wouldn't believe it. Scam iyo waxaas muu kuu yaqaan. I told him, haye waa kuu wacaa. But ma anaa u wacay. No frigging way. Looool. MMA, I had some similar experience with friends back in African and Europe with great deals which actually were ponzi schemes and email scams. I tried to explain it, they didnt belief me either and some even thaught I was being xaasid. Nowadays, if someone doesnt seem interested in any free advice I dont even bother and say Good Luck! And this case is quite similar. Cause any smart business minded person would always be interested in advice, certainly when its free of charge.

Qaranki, the people were not ready to first rationally look at their interest, discuss and identify teir objectives, framework for the Union. When some politicians suggested to not rush with Union and first discuss, they were silenced and people wanted the uncondtional union. Egal (aun) who once was speeching to the Somaliland delegation who went to Xamar before union, raised this point and they silenced him by trowing a coke bottle to his head. As they regarded his suggestion of conditionality as opposing their will for a Union. Today, when someone raises suggests any linkage, cooperation or union, he is treated the same way.

Back in 1960 when Somalilanders decided to join Somalia in a Union, they were not prebared, did not have their own systems of governance and were driven by emotions of Unity and Somalinimo. Leading to dissapointments. Today, sixty years later Somalilanders have a democracy, laws, a system of governance and much better prebared for any deal that is in the interest of the people. Just like they deal with Ethiopia, foreign donors, Djibouti, etc. But again they are driven by emotions, this time those emotions driven them away from any political engagement with Somalia. Somalia and Somali's are no wives you can divorce and leave. Rather we are brothers who need eachother and this time its Somaliland who should show political maturity and be the bigger man.

Qandalawi;783161 wrote: ^Odwayne No matter how many times the naysayers keep repeating words such as 'pirates' or Puntland admin is in bed or profits from piracy, to no avail and no one heeds your call. In fact Puntland gained strength and the world came to respect and contribute to the efforts of fighting piracy by Puntland authorities. Puntland recieved vast amount of funding from the EU for this cause, the powers that be including America support its efforts and engages with Puntland. There have been high delegation visits of world officials who are interested in this issue, notably American senator, the head of the UN for fighting piracy and others from western countries, all coming to Garowe conducting conferences dealing with the issue and recognising the importance of working with Puntland. Furthermore the state has received more share of the funds that was allocated to Somalia for this project. There is Saracen as well, the largest piracy fighting task force in the region that costed multi-million dollar which was funded mainly by Kuwait and other countries. And finally, sadly for you perhaps ya Odwayne, the British joined and are willing to spend millions building prison and other crucial infrastructures. Keep talking and keep saying 'Pirates', it amounts to nothing in the real world but adds to your misery. Not a single country has ever accused Puntland but only few newspapers mainly the BBC and certain British media, but its seems now the Brits media are on board and have seen the light. The secessionists keep talking while Puntland is moving, they care about the state of affairs of Puntland but we see them as irrelevant. Business for some individuals is indeed moving there is no doubt about that. The human cost price seems to be high in terms of youth improsened as you pictured here and in many foreign countries, youth lives taken by anti piracy operations, instability on l, more security funded anti-terrorist operations, resulting to less stability and security and more assisantations of Politicians, business people, clan elders and sheicks then any wear else in Somalia. Now my questions is, is it this kind of Somalia that makes you proud? The kind of Somalia you would others like to follow?

Gheelle.T;782931 wrote: Kuwaa hadhow ku oran pirate state this and that. This is the success of this PL admin and it's fight against the piracy is out in the open. Now the rest of the world have seen it and coming to aid PL with its fight against piracy. Piracy was stimulated by Puntland admin itself, even earned on it and now earning on the fight against it. See UN monitoring group report. Wicked double strategy, but its not good for people and the country. Nothing to cheer about.

Actually biggest supporters of Al Shabaab came from Bay, Bakool and the Jubba's and they did clean to some extend clannism and folks from Somalia.

ailamos;782890 wrote: Although the investment give a short-term boost to the SL economy, I find it rather short-sighted that the authorities allowed Coca Cola to build a plant on top of an aquifer in a region where water is already in short supply and a precious resource. According to a University of Michigan report, Coca Cola uses an average of 3.12 to 3.75 liters of water to produce one liter of Coke When Coca Cola exhausts this aquifer, where is the water going to come from? Perhaps another aquifer, and another... and so on. Somaliland isn't as rich as the Arab Gulf countries to run a desalination plants for its drinking water needs, so what other alternative is there? Here's the an exceprt from the above referenced University of Michigan report: Somaliland will be next. Let me correct you sxb: -First, its not only a boost in investment and emloypment creation. But most of all because Cola is now imported less foreign currency will flow out of the country. Which is healthier for a sustainable economy. -Second, Somaliland is not a desert. there is enough rainfall, the problem is not that there is a shortage of water in Somaliland, but a shortage of water catchment, production, transportation of clean water. Cola factory will pump its own water from the nearby dry river (Jaleelo is 30km outside Hargeysa) and purify its own and therefor does not lay capacity on the water resources of the people. -Third, if Cola factory sells 1 milion liter of coke, you say they will use 3 million liters of water? that is the same amount of water 3 households use in the west on annually.
