Galkacyo, caloosha Somalia.

So easy to be negative, obstructive and pessimistic. everyone else is wrong, but me and my clan. You guys should start to constructively critize your fiefdoms at home, I am sure if we all did that improvement would have come bottem up. But silence on the Garowe Conference and potraying Londen Conference as a nightmare, is just laughable.

Likewise, Somalis know their clansmen and would vouch for them, they don't know the 'others' and, don't trust them. As for what you're talking about. I beg to differ and would actually champion the 4.5 system. It did not come out of thin air, saaxib. It is there because Somalis (or rather their leaders) demanded it and will continue to demand it. You can your fellow dreamers can oppose it all you like, it will still carry on being used (in one form or another) until Somali finally gets fixed (and it wont get fixed without it). p.s. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not claiming to be a Qardaawi here. Ok, I understand on the trust part. On the formula. Afcourse, we need somekind of a diversification policy or system to insure inclusiviness. but is a set formula the answer, no! why, see TFG and AL Shabaab. One uses the formula, no succes or support on the ground. The other uses an inclusive diversity policy en voila, they get support from all over the country.

Eventhough Bashir Goth seems to have understood quite well where the road is leading to, he is reasing or linking it to Siilanyo's damaged ego in SNM times is ridicules. He is giving all the credit to Siilanyo, as being the only one with Unionist tendencies. People need to understand that every single intelligent Somaliland politician from whatever clan who carries responsibility would have taken the same road as Siilanyo is taking. Maybe with a diffrence in leadership style or strategy, but still they would have embarked on the same road when the (zeitgeist) or the right timing. All German leaders from Adenauer, Brandt or Kohl would have made the same choices of unification, but only under Kohl's time in 1989 it became possible to unite West and East due to the Zeigeist. And today things are possible that were not yesterday, irrelevent of Siilanyo's history, ego or wished legacy.

It seems IamRevolution is not the only one asking these questions, the article's come from an SSC website.

IamRevolution, you have a point. The Buuhoodle issue or the motives behind it, are not what they seem to be.

The Crazy Africa: Zambia Team have a Strange Promise if they win the Footie

Ngonge, we should not deny the existence of clan nor the tendancy to 'clannism'. In fact we should embrace it and make sure institutions don't show tendancies to clannism or have mechanismms in place to prevent ot deal with clannism. However institutionalizing clan with formula's like 4.5 in goverment is immoral. Just like showing up at work naked. There should be times and places for nuddist behavior, I agree that with you. Maybe in a harmless clan based 'cultural' Guurti, with fadhi ku dirir and dhaanto sessions. Using sand can replace weeyso now and again but you seem to be mistaking it with sticking your head in the sand, adeer. Ya saaxibi, the idea is BRILLIANT and I trust you to implement it but I don't trust Carafat and Somalia, sadly, is full of Carafat's . Marka naga daa dee. explain?

Sayid,we should be glad that this is the first meeting which Somaliland is attending after more then 100 of these kind of meetings and int consultations that have been organised. And thus the most inclusive of all. Why have you not raisend your concerns against Kamapala, Embaghati or the recent farce held in Garowe?

NGONGE;787609 wrote: EXACTLY. You know it, I know it and the professor knows it. It's a great idea and the one that is morally acceptable but it's not SOMALI and never likely to be implemented in our life times. Marka, again, what hole did Mr Hiil Qaran prick? Ngonge, it one you are right that Somali's and clannism are inseperatebal. Just like humans have a tendency to sexual pervert thoughts and actions. Still, you should not accept nor institutionalize pervert behavior. One need to protect the man from himself. Adigu laakinse waxa leedahay dharka tuura kolay waa la dheeliyaa. And that my friend is an immoral thing to do.

So Qardho opposes the Conference?

So he is from Yagoori rather then Hawd as he claimed. And he supports the Yagoori, Las canood folks who are part of SL. There are many more. Just like Taleexi used to support Puntland, there are some who support Somaliland.

Thats the only fault he has which sometimes over-weighs all the other good things he has achieved Dr.Osman, Wouldn't you say security is nr.1 issue in Somalia. More important that foreign delegates visiting and nr of seatts?

IamRevolution, if its any concern to you. You should know that Aaliyah, Taleexi and A_Khadar have consequently stood up for the SSC case and fought the online battle on the side of Buhoodle eventhoug they are "reer Nugaal". Doesn't make sense to oppose them here, for you seem to "dhabarjabin" the folks. As you for your question, why aren't other cities fighting just like Buuhodle. If the fight is as it is potrayed here, then that is indeed a valid questio which can be only answered by the folks living there and not by folks living thousands of KM away. Then you should know that as much or as little as the persons you asked the questions to.

Interesting intervieuw. Norway is part of the Monitoring group, hugh donor in SL, and of the main countries in the Ldn Conference. Check 4.30min. Next stop will be Londen.

My 2 cents on the speech. -The British are seizing a golden opportunity in a moment when there are clear sings of hope and, willingnise to compromise and optimism in Somalia, while TFG is ending and int community have become Somalia fatique. This conference's main objective is to secure international support and funding for the BRITISH, knowing Somali's will for sure cooperate and African countries are willing to keep troops in Somalia or fight Al Shabaab without British troops on the ground. -Somaliland is hardly mentioned while Puntland is mentioned 3 times as an example. Thus indicating Somaliland will hardly be a discussion point in the Conference. While this would itself be a momentus moment or big win of the UK for getting Somaliland on board. This indicates that Somaliland's role and position is already determined: -Somalilandd will negoitiate its cause withe the Interim Authorithy to be established this summer. -Somaliland's involvement in Somalia as a separate entity with the promise of a referendum in x nr of years. -Puntland mentioned 2 times for its succes and efforts, is seen as the model for regional authorities it other parts of Somalia. -TFG is definetly exit. And its players and their position is not seen as relevant. Except for Mayor of Muqdisho, Tarzan. A ll players regional authorities and African countries will go a long if they get funding, thus the Conference and 50 countries and donors. -British are seizing the moment. Let's cooperate and someday we get the initiative back if we go. Along and things improve.

Puntlland has fared well under Faroole, economic and business wise. Inflation is low, more investment, larger income, tax income increased, He managed to sustain income from Piracy and get funding to "fight" piracy, start the oil drilling. But Somalia's problems can't be solved with more NGO funding, more goverment income or more mashruuc's, strong men. That has helped in the past either. We need a genuine dialogue, bottem-up approach, inclusive and strong institutions, transparancy and start building the fundements of a genuine Somali Governance Structure, lay the seeds now that can grow. It should be less about the persons and more about the institutions.

Clan or no clan, MP's or people's representative's should come from a defined constituency with parameters. And clans don't have set parameters and drill down to sub-lineages, but regions do have parameters. Nassir, waqoyi politics is diffrent from southern politics. The pure clan politics and dimension is alien to Somalia and more accepted in Waqoyi(and Bari). One should not make the mistake of trying to copy waqoyi clan politics for South-Somalia or vica versa. So far it has failed.

Folks from the diaspora have no idea that things are really changing in our region. For too long we thought clan and Political vieuws/supporting Administration were one on one linked. Eventhough I am clan wise from Somaliland, I oppose the int recognition as a separate country. I belief in the Unity of Somalia and all Somali's, and that we need to be linked governance wise. Even with Djibouti and the other 2 Somali regions we shouls establish somekind of an Association Treaty with that is acceptable to Kenya and Ethiopia. I belief that all Somali's should have the same rights in all the regions, countries and Administration irrelevent of their clan. That we need to de-clanize Administrations and judge goverments based on merits rather then leaders clan. I belief that Somalia and Somaliland posses the viability to become main administratiots based on those value's. The irony is that It is already becoming reality. The Minister of Defense of Somalia comes clan wise from SL and the Min Defense of Somaliland and the Highest Military leader come both from SSC regions. Folks from Hargeysa and Muqdisho will have a good night sleep knowing their Presidents are out of the country and the best men good are guarding their security. My point, our people in the country are prepared to think further and accepted the beginning of a new era. Are you prepared?

After Buuhoodle Defeats, Siilaanyo Fires Militia Leaders
Carafaat replied to xiinfaniin's topic in Politics
Xaaji wasn't he nr 2 Military man in SL after Jidhif anf formerly Nuux Taani? -
Ngonge, the man came with an alternative based on (inclusive)regional representation rather then the 4.5 exclusive clan representation. This is ythe only way we can politicly beat Al Shabaaband at the same time learn from them. You need to a understand South-Somalia politics. In waqooyi it was clearly accepted to have a clan based Parliament till elections, but in Koonfur it should not be all about clan. The man came up with some good workable idea's. Adigu maxaa heysa oo xal ah?
