The Proffesor never supported clan states or federalism as you state. And he is the biggest critic of Somaliland. He doesnt try to please clans or is a clan thinker. But still he is pointing to a fact. Somalia is founded and is the product of a merger by The British and Italian parts, irrelevent of your opinion how a future Somalia should look like.

And still XX, Mintid and Oodweyneh dont support the Defence Minister of Somalia. Maybe if Ethiopian soldiers would come in to Xaraf, Wojaale and Oodweyneh, they would suppport a common Defence policy and the Defence Minister.

I used to think that Somalia was a mono-cultural society. With one history going back to Sheicks from Arabia, one language written in the 70's, one ethinicity being a combination of Arab and Ethiopian, one nomadic pastoralist culture, the same clan based structure, Ethiopia is a christian society and our historic our arch enemy, certain land and cities belonged to certain clans, Somalia's conflict was one based on clan and could be solved through clans. But now I am begining to think, this might one version of the story. What do you think?

Institutionlized clan is the biggest obstacle to a Somali State. All Somali's should denounce and rejectcl clan ideologies.

LST, Faroole indeed delivered more for the folks on the ground that previous leaders on the ground. But Puntland's governance system is based on traditional clan structures rather then the populare direct structure. Where previous leaders kept clan leaders satisfied and appeased them, Faroole ignored them and he does not seem popular with the elites of the clans. Many Islaan's, Garaads, Baashi's and Ugaas have condemned Farole on clan related issue's. Even here on SOL.

Siilanyo is right. If we want to re-create the Somali Union just like our foretathers did in 1960. Somaliland and Somalia need to sit down as two States. But for this happen right, Somaliland needs to merge with Khatumo. And Somalia needs to free Al Shabaab from all area's and establish its rule and souvereignity over its territory. Sheick Shariif still doesnt rule Kismaayo and adminds need to be established in all the regions. Siilanyo doesnt rule Buhoodle, Taleex. And Somalilands needs a political merger with Khaatuma. Some work needs to be done coming months.

Swiss States have a 1000 year history of self governing and self rule. They together have created the Swiss Conferedaracy. Just the States have created the US of america. While Somalia as the world knows was created by 2 former colonies. Which existing and self ruling State will cereate the new Somalia? Puntland alone?

Somalia was founded by two State's, regions, or call it even colonial remains. Even today you can see two main political force fields with diffrent political domestic conflicts, Somaliland_Khatuma_Makhir_Awdal and the Puntland_Galgaduud_Hiiran_Moqadishu_Al shabaab held area's domestic field. In terms of Federalism. Only these two have historic legitimacy or so jireen. The Professor is right and Hiilqaran has a true nationalistic vieuw.

Adeer, I have supported Faroole from the begin. But it would be akhward you, LST, XIinfaniin and all other Punties condeming him and denouncing him and at the same time supporting him for Somalia. Dont know if that would convince Muqdisho folks.
