  1. Somalina, abaayo, see tahay? I know Farmaajo is popular and hits the right tone with young girls and single mothers from diaspora. But its actiopns that count not words. Farmaajo should have stayed in Somalia rather leaving immediatly Muqdishu ma Musqul buu mooday?
  2. Duufaan, mohamed abdullahi omaar politician and academic? In which world? And what has Farmaajo done to build institutions? He should have stayed in Muqadisho and continued in another capacity instead of leaving directly after his resignation. Meeshu ma musqul baa, oo dhaqso laga baxo marka laga dhamesyto danta?
  3. Swiss is to cold and have no intention to walk hills or mountains. South of france you need a car and for that a license. I do however liked Barcelona, strolling down the Ramblas. I went to Turkey last year, it was quite boring. But the turkish hammaam was relaxing.
  4. There is so much ignorance about our identity, Ethnicity and culture. But irrelevent of the ignorance, Somali Bantu's are Somali citizens and Sijui's are tanzanian and kenyans with no vote or share in Somalia's affairs. Wait till the we have elections and who will finally have a significant share and voice in Somalia. For sure it wont be the qurbojoogs, sijui's.
  5. I need a break. Was thinking to go somewhere for a week. But dont where to go. Any suggestions?
  6. For one to overcome those challenges we need a strong State guaranteeing the right business enviroment for one to plan and invest long term. At the moment we have an Economy without State and this has its limitations.
  7. Mahiga should mind his business and eat some chapati with fufu.

  10. How about Investment in 'Somalilanders'. Investment in their education(most institutions were in South Somalia), Investment in their businesses(many were doing in Somalia)? And Solely looking at investment focussing on geographic location doesnt mean other regions didnt profit from it.
  11. Last night Farmaajo was here in Holland as part of his tour to candidate himself for the Presidency in august. He seems popular among a wide spectrum of folks specially from Souther Somalia. I can understand why, the guy is a sweet talker. But lets asses this candidate; - Farmaajo used the media to communicate his message to the public. Signalling a messaage of a goverment that has changes and is doing its best. Returning hope and large support to the TFG. This is quite an achievement. -Farmaajo was hand picked to function as PM and Head of goverment. He was barely in function for couple of months. Meaning that he failed to position his goverment and his osition in the centre of goverment. -in his shorttime as PM he managed to anger and disfrenchise import political players in Somalia. Instead of trying reach a consensus for the common goal and forge a coalition, he angered Puntland, Somaliland, Kenya,Ethiopians, Amisom, AU, UN and TFP. This shows that Farmaajo is politicly unexperienced and failed to forge any kind of a coalition to reach his goal. Explaining his fall. -Farmaajo should have become the dealmaker between the legislative and the State, but he never managed. -Farmaajo seems to play an. American style of populist politics. Focussing on his public image and to get a mandate from the public, women, youth, minorities, etc. But Somalia is not America and Farmaajo is not elected by the public and this makes public support little relevent but booking results and achievements more important. -If Farmaajo was serieuz about his candidateship he would be touring Somalia rather then European capitals. He should be touring Garowe, Bosasso,Galkacyo, Muqdisho, Nairobi, Addis Abbesa, Hargeysa. He would be forging support from Somalis business people, civil society, local and regional political pplayers, he would visit Faroole, Siilanyo, caalin, Mahiga rather then visiting women in the diaspora who are little relevent for the dealings in the country. THerefor I think that Farmaajo is not suited for the position eventhough he pplayed a crucial role in giving back hope to people who had little exppectations anymore from the TFG.
  12. Nonsense, Somaliland didnt even exist in that time. And even if a pasta factory was invested in Muqdisho, dont they eat pasta in Somaliland. You want a bill for all the cheap socialist pasta Somaliland ate during those years. Or shall we charge Somaliland for all the cheap and free land thats it folks got in '70 in Shabelle's? Somali economy knows do borders. They only exist in our mind.

  14. I love Politics. I love provocations in politics. I love the retorical use of provocation as a means of Persuasion in the debate. But sometime's one can be a bit to provocative, this is the case when one failed to persuade but only provoked.
  15. This story is quite touching and hits the right tone on why many folks regards themselves as Unionist. Not because one wants to force eachother on the contrary there is a love that one can simply not live without or even imagine to live without.
  16. I am very positive and enthousiastic about the intention of these talk irrelevent of the outcome, which I am sure will be constructive and positive for all Somali's. Guessing on how this all is orchestrated, I would say one will agree on a midterm cooperation with a permanent solution on the middle long(2015?) term in the form of a referendum. This could give Somalia time to establish a democrticly elected goverment, Somaliland to convince Somali's of its case and break the current deadlock and cooerate for the sake of the Somali people.
  17. Depends, if Somaliland demands also a part of the Assets in international accounts ?
