I like this guy and his vision. He started out helping his tuulo(Cadaado), the community elders of the tuulo/sub-clan asked him to lead them and organise them, organise basic services, organise diaspora etc. And then tuulo's around where the rest of sub-clan lives asked him to help out, his organisation providing basic services spread out. And then I saw him organise and lead a meeting wih other clan states in Cadaado from the region, they were trying to form a stronger regional administration together knowing their capacity is limited and they need to organise themselves, have a structure. This is what you call state building bottem-up. Somalia, you dont like Galmudug but you like Ximan iyo Xeeb?

Citizens come together and form strong circle of protection, clan's. The more distress and hostility exist around the circle, the stronger and more organized clans become. you call that ethno-states. But what will happen in times of peace when hostilities decreases? when the bond or circle remain the same? is protection needed in times of peace? will the circle remain strong? I dont think so, I think the bond, circle weakens and devolves if it looses its function(protection). Therefor those ethno states need to transcent in to becoming city states or regional states, as you call them.

Sxb, So you see clans as a building block of a nation state?

Citizens form the nation. You mean the State or the nation?

Ok. So your question is why am I critizing Puntland leaders while I want to share a State with Puntland citizens?

I am speechless. I thought Archdemos was a Unionist. Archdemos, you are talking about bringing little sub-clans in to the fold, aniguna waxaan ku leeyahay Somali oo dhan aan isku keeno. -
Illyria;804303 wrote: Carafaat There is the ideal (nation state), and then there is the ka badin waa (ethno-states). I am asking the questions because you come across as if fantasising about the concept of a nation state (desired) nas its citizenry (its make-up), to which you are attaching less value than the fantasy. You do not seem to mind condemning the citizen yet you are advocating for the nation. why? is your understanding of a nation state flawed? or are you so romantic at heart you fail to see the flaw in the logic. I really don't understand what you are talking about here. what is "ka badin waa"? I didnt know qabiil and qabyalad were this complex, it almost higher forms of beta science. I need someone to explain this to me and other simple folks.

Well then 1% equals 50 million, and 280 million which equals more then 5% of the economy. So one can state that a 2,6% increase of the economy is caused by Piracy business. Nuune, numbers iyo economy xamasad malaha, umada aya leh.

Archdemos, waad ka sii dartay. Free speech does exist. Under Kulmiye I have more freedom of speech then with UDUB. UDUB arrested all the Unionist, Kulmiye throws welcome back parties for them. -

NGONGE;804283 wrote: Who said I am not protesting? They have to say what they arrested him for and what is the charge. This is not about what clan the man is from or if Norf and I are in support of Siilaanyo (or otherwise). This is how the law should be. Adeero, madaxwyne, great old Axmad Siilaanyo is my president and uncle and I fully support Somaliland and his government. However, I've said it before and I say it again, he is rubbish with human rights and freedom of expression. His government got it wrong with the poor Oromos, it got it wrong with the needless arrest of journalists (and closing of HCTV) and it got it wrong with (some) of the Buuhodle fights. As I have no idea why the boqor was arrested, I'll give the government the benefit of the doubt for now , Mr Laandheer See, told you Ngonge was with the goverment on this one. He has no choice, clan is everything. he is the laangaab of Burco and his uncle is the President. But my uncle is opposition and I am the laandheer from Burco. So I am free to support Boqor Buurmadow. Free Buurmadoow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Illyria, everyone understand how clan states or the clans protection became a substitute after the collapse of the State. But should we not have the ambition to move beyond it, should we have a mission to trancend it?
-
i am sitting down, got myself a cup of coffee. Illyria will share he solution for Puntland. go ahead.

nuune;804254 wrote: ^^ Don't belief what every website writes, it is like that article about higher level of Somali business in Kenya which suggested it was as a result of piracy ransom money, they based their research on few boats that pirates got some ransom money, and that money made its way into every Somali business in Kenya. That article is based on a UNODC. its the lowest and most carefull estimation mentioned amount of Piracy rantsom. In 2011, pirates made some $170 million in ransom money for hijacked vessels and their crews. That figure represents an increase since 2010, when ransoms paid amounted to over $110 million, according to UNODC.

Somaliland: Boqor Buur-madow Arrested in Hargeisa
Carafaat replied to Jacaylbaro's topic in Politics
I didnt say anyone was above the law. I said, if the man(crazy or not) was from my clan or your clan many would have protested from a clannish sense. And since Ngonge and Norf are with Siilanyo on this one, the man is standing alone. I say, Free Buurmadoow!!!! -
Where will you stay in Burco?

Somaliland: Boqor Buur-madow Arrested in Hargeisa

If Boqor Buurmadow wasnt from the same clan as Siilanyo, many would have protested this arrest or his (previous goverment?) ordered arrest in UAE. So I say, free the Boqor. -

Since recently I have been observing some Somali's in their natural habitat of the local community organisation. I am not a Sociologist but I observed that we like to give advice and speech preferbly to a wide audiance. But what it comes to taking a decision, we like to minimlize the participation. And this where it goes wrong and misunderstanding start, when ever 4 people lock them selves up in a room and decide for all others. Talo aan ku siiyo, Go'anka aan ku diido.
