  1. Sxb, it was 1991 when the Somali State crumbled and Somaliland went its own way. And in 2012 Somaliland and the TFG Will lay the foundations for the future Somali State. Old Chapters are closed, new chapters of History is being created.
  2. Irrelevent what the outcome from the talks will be, for sure they are historic and created a new percedent, a new way of thinking, a new approach and a new road to achieve that what we wish for the Somali people. Somalis tend to achknowledge someones contribution only after their death while critizing and judging when the person is a live. Let us break with this and let us acknowledge that President Siilanyo has earned his place in the pages of history and show our gratitude. Thank you President Siilanyo.
  3. Xaaji, dont you think these are historical times. And that we will look back on it one day?
  4. I always thought my generation would not experience any exciting and historical times nor that we can contribute to any significant historical developments. So that we can look back one day, on historic events and tell our grandchildren about it. Like our parents and other older Somalis talk about the historical 1960s, the Independence, the unfication, the renaissance of pan African and pan Somalism. When I hear these storis, sometimes I wish i could have witnessed it. But if we look at all the recent developments, the change of attitude, the resilliance Somalis have showed, the returning hope. I only can say, thank Allah. waa mahad Ilaahay

Dariiqo is alive and kicking. But we try to keep our community out of the spot ligth. We don't want outsiders minding our business. So no thread about Dariiqo.

A-khadar, Beelaha darifyada, Have agreed to Join Somaliland in 1991, both in Burco and Borama Conference they signed to be part of the nation. .... Arrintu halkan danbe ayuun bay ka dhabaqday.... ... Ignorant politicians and people with agendas are mainly to blame, Beesha dhexe should first blame themselves, for the deteriorating nation, and Beelaha Darifyada should also realize that Tribalism is not only directed at them but anyone even the most laandheere of beelaha dhexe in Somaliland is subject to Tribalism and nepotism...no one is safe from it, it all depends on where are you....Beelaha dhexe should also (although now late) shown trust in their neighbors instead of assuming somaliland is a clan project and they should protect it , ,,, couldn't agree more. well said sxb.

Don't triviliaze Sheick like this! you clearly forget the historic religious community in the outskirts of Sheick, the Dariiqo community. Second you forgat the historic burried city of Fardooz, the ruins of the British houses, the Veterinary College, the new boarding school for girls. Shall I continue.
  19. loool@music khafiif ah. hortay waa run. Somali music is quite innocent, you can always interpret in diffrent ways.
  20. Raula, thanks for the song. It's amazing. Qalinle is quite good. I am big fan of Mooge as well. If you have any songs with lyrics, please feel free to post it. I am new in to the Somali music, can only grab a little of it, but what I do understand is of the highest level of poetry!
  21. Exactely the issues those in Hargeysa need to avoid instead of holding Djibouti as an example by doubling internal taxes against elites, keeping the fight against corruption, trusting no foreign entity and above all holding equality as the key goal just like those communists did to get top rankings in all that matters (equality, education & health) with so much less. . Unfortuantly many folks see Djibouti as example. I find the idea of Djibouti been an example quite depressing and demoralizing, indeed!
