I am sure Somalia has oil. Oil exploration takes years and is not determined by one digged well. Lets wait till Somalia is completely stable, has good governance, then the reall oil companies will come. Rather then dubious company that are only interested to earn money on the stock exchange speculation rather then real oil exploration.

The news that the mini well test has flowed water opposed to oil is certainly a disappointment, I have to disagree. I am glad they found water. Water is the source of life and Bari could use some water.

Alpha, don't be modest. if there would be a Somali hall of fame, then you would be the first (online character) who's star would be hanged(on the wall afcourse).

Jb, who is 'kuwii'? I don't think Oba, MMA and Abwaan were members of the Somali armed forces in the 80's.

This is truly an historical map. Places like Hargeysa, Lascanood, Erigavo, Borama are not even on the map. I see Buhoodle already excisted back then.

This morning I had a meeting in the City Centre of Rotterdam. I was walking down the main high end shopping street of Rotterdam when I suddenly saw this hugh 2 store shop with trendy designer bags from Omar Munie. I know the kid made designer bags, but his flagshire store is really of the hook.http://omarmunie.com/verkooppunten/ I felt really proud to be a Somali when I walked pass this store.

If the Marxuum was threatened, that he even wrote a good bye letter, for sure there must be a suspect?! Taleex Media should run an article with their speculations.

Mooge, they agreed from the beginning that each of three Presidents would get a turn to hold the Presidency. What makes you think Galeyr is behind it?

http://www.badbaadoqaran.org/ Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdi Hashi has a PhD in economics from George Mason University and two master’s degrees in applied economics and finance from John Hopkins University. He worked for PriceCoopersWaterhouse and Citibank at their headquarters. He also worked for the Investment Banking firm, Salomon Brothers in New York. He is the author of an upcoming book titled Islamic Banking: Steady in Shaky Times? which will be published early this summer (2012) that explains Islamic finance and compares the stability of conventional banks with those of Islamic banks. Abdi was born in. He is the son of Mohamed Abdi Hashi(former politician of Puntland). He seems qualified in economics, monetary policy. And would be qualified as Minister of Economics. Unfortuantly he is praging about Khatumo and his tolka on his website. this is not really a plus for a national candidate.

Dr Osman, I am talking about National Institutions, not their regional branches.

Marksman, thanks for the link and raising the idea of twinning cities. I think foreign twin cities could play a relevent role in terms of supporting capacity building of municipilities and infrastructural planning and development. But before we reach that stage of international exchange of knowledge and asking for technical assistence from abroad. Lets first start on national level, there is much experience, knowledge in the country. Most cities in Somalia have now been cleared from Al Shabaab, some cities have local authorities and governance systems, others in the process of setting up local governance systems. They could learn much from eachother, exchange their experience first, support eachother. Therefor they should set up a Local Government Association or Authority(in Hollands its called VNG), bringing together all the municipilties and where they can exchange experiences on legislations, governing systems, institutional building, capacity development, service delivery, urban planning, etc. Even coordinate their demands for certain experience and then seek that knowledge in the country or abroad.

Somali Waste Agency Waste for example doesnt have borders and can be carried for hundred of miles by the sea, wind and rain. Therefor we to minimize waste and make sure it's processed right. Most waste companies can be made profitable State companies, that can recycle much of the waste and burn it to make energy of it. P.S. Did you know Ethiopians collect all the empty plastic bottles , metal scraps, and bring it to Ethiopia. We throw away value! e=mc2
