http://www.hiiraan.com/news/2012/Aug/wararka_maanta15-18965.htm While we are prebaring for the upcoming Eid holiday, the city of Kismaayo is being Shelled and bombed by war ships and Helicopters from the Kenyan army and people are once Again fleeing the city. It's not the first time that the people of Kismaayo fled the city. And it's not the first Time that the city is attacked by with shells, bombs and bullets by outsiders. In the 90's Diffrent militias fought for the control of the city and it changed hands several times. In the last decade the city was the battlefield between islamist and goverment supported Militias. In the last years Kismaayo became the stronghold of the extremist Al Shabab. The city is now under attack from the Kenyan Military and diffrent Somali goverment supported clan militias are waiting to take control of the city for their clan to establish 'Jubbaland', 'Azanialand'. No other city in Somalia has seen so many diffrent clashes and wars, no other in Somalia changed hands so many diffrent times, no other city in Somalia is claimed by so many diffrent clans as theirs. Once again it's the people of Kismaayo that are the victims of these geo-regional competition for power,Driven by wrong policies, wrong clan politics, wrong militias, wrong extrmist and wrong 'foreign' invasion. Our hart goes out to the people of Kismaayo. We turn to Allah and pray for his forgiveness, his mercy and his kindness for the people of Kismaayo,to help remove them from their burdens, to remove their tirans and we pray Allah to give the people of Kismaayo the long lasting peace they deserve. Amiin

Somalia, we can have a good Chair of Parliament, as well as a good PM and President irrelevent of their clan. No need to elect an illiterate as Shariif Hassan again, because you want your uncle to become President. Been there, done that.

Kismaayo iyo waraabe cunoow maxaa kala haaysta VIDEO
Carafaat replied to oba hiloowlow's topic in Politics
Hyena, Sakaaro, rabbits, dig dig, lobsters, shell fish, birds. War wax kasta ha la cuno, as long its halaal and nutricious. Some years ago I was invited to this exotic restaurant. The only thing I recongnized on the menu was wild pork and alligator steak. I choose for the Alligator and it tasted delicious. -
Somalia, it's the result that counts not the position. What was the result of Omar Abdirashiid Sharmarke for Somalia, besides eating tons of Xalwo in his Hotelroom. I think Dr.Ali Khaliif Gelyr would do a good job in uniting Somalia's Parliament, he has united his divided clan and build a maamul from scratch. I am sure he can unite Somalia's Parliament for the common interest.
-
Somalia, Stop insulting.Dr.Ali Khaliif Galeyr, he is the most educated candidate for the Chair position.

The list of MP's is almost final. After MP's are sworn in, they will elect a Chair. Who would you choose as the new Chair of Parliament?

How IGAD, Western countries plans for Jubbaland will fail August 13, 2012 **·** Since the beginning of the civil war in Somalia in 1990ties, Jubbaland regions became the hotspot of endless clashes, genocide and all other sorts of human rights abuses committed by certain clans with the aim of conquering lands. With the phenomena of gathering second hand information about the regions, it will always remain difficult for the international community to find a solution for Jubbaland crisis. A good example on this matter can be seen in IGAD report regarding the clans that are found in the region. As usual those who took part in the extermination of civilians have been awarded with the title of “majority clans”, while people who are known to be living in many parts of the region garnered the title of “minority”. Remember, the secretary general of IGAD Mahbub Moalim is a member of Kenyan Somali politicians, who have a hidden agenda of supporting a certain clan in the region. Surprisingly, the international community, without checking these facts, it has used them as a platform to establish Jubbaland regional administration. Some MPs who hail from the region condemned the plan and vowed to defend their people from what they termed as a new colonialism from some hostile clans. One may wonder when a large community of Somali Bantu in Jubbaland from Lower Jubba, Middle Jubbe to Gedo regions is described as a minority, while the questionable justice of IGAD and western countries included in the last minute a small group called ***** that inhabits in an area less than a locality of Kismaayo as the majority clans of Jubbaland. If that is not enough, when people complained about this conspiracy, IGAD sent a delegation to Mogadishu, and it had members of one of the clans that claim to be the majority in Jubbaland. The IGAD delegation came back to Nairobi with empty hands, when Jubbaland politicians in Mogadishu rejected the unfair plan backed by the western countries over Jubba. To continue with the ill-advised plan IGAD gave a green light to ***** clans to pick up people from Eastleigh, who will then be called representatives of the clans that expressed pessimism over the injustice plan of Jubbaland. A bogus General called Ismail Sahardid, the commander of ****** militants in Jubbaland, brought a man from Eastleigh called Abbas Ali Ibrahim, whom he claimed is the representative of Wagosha Bantu community of Jubbaland. Abbas does not belong to Somali Bantu. He is from **** clan, but since the IGAD process is all about suppressing the innocent people of Jubbaland, Abbas is attending meetings as technical committee member. What Abbas and the bogus General Sahardid do not know is the reality on the ground, where the Bantu people in Jubbaland are determined to ensure they are no longer maltreated in their territory and have learnt a lot from the past. *This is the same process, which is going on in Mogadishu, where those given the title of “majority clans”, by the international community have the power to select elders and MPs of other clans with the blessing of the world. Unless the international community comes up with genuine and sincere mediation process, whereby all clans are represented equally, no one will ensure that peace can prevail in Jubbaland. But if the genuine motive is to prolong the crisis and make the clans fight forever, then this is the actual plan to achieve that goal. Elders, women, youth and even children from Wagosha community do understand that they face an enemy that will not easily understand the truth, unless they are shown the language that they understand, which is self-defense. We, as the youth of Wagosha, have the obligation of informing our people about the danger that is being cooked in Nairobi, and elsewhere to deny our existence and basic rights in Jubbaland. The Wagosha Youth are currently involved in translating ancient history of liberation movements in the world, including the recent ones, where people who have a very limited means afforded to confront powerful governments, armed forces with sophisticated weapons, and groups that wanted o suppress innocent people. To die for your dignity is the most respectable death anyone would wish on this earth, and I urge all Wagosha community, wherever they are to convey the message that the enemy is coming back with the support of IGAD and international community, and that the daunting task ahead of them should be faced with solidarity. One day the liberation will come, and your offspring will enjoy the sweet of your sacred blood, the fruits of your struggle and the real meaning of freedom and living as respected man on this earth. God Bless Somalia, God Bless Wagosha, God help the freedom fighters of Goshaland * Muya Mahitula Chivalla Mogadishu

It's not laziness! Most Small time Fisherman, live stock owners and small farmers don't get Any remmittances from abroad. They work hard to make their living. But nobody is investing in them. You can call it a mismatch of human, capital and natural resources. For example, those fisherman lack proper fishing equipment, cold storag and processing facilities. Because they don't have the capital, and the one's with capital Invest only in something they understand(real estate, importing goods). Human, Capital and Natural resources can only meet when there is a proper system facilitating Trust, cooperation, flows, security and accountbility between the one with the capital(invester), Human (skilled Labour) and natural resources(owners/management of natural resources). But we lack such a system. And clan thinking or diffrent systems(maamuls, borders and the overall divisions) doesn't help either to facilitate trust and cooperation.

Mahiga: Somalia deserves an educated competent leader
Carafaat replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
Leadership is measured by one's vision, ideals and the skills/experience/ conviction to persuade and guide others to that Vision. And this not a degree you can buy from a fancy College. Shariif had 4 years to convince us, but the man simply lacks a vision. -
Clannism and kursi uruursi was behind most districting in the last 50 years. What Shariif doing is nothing new. Still there is an inbalance and assymetrics in terms of population sizes of districts and regions. But we need a proper Cencus.

No wonder. Those camels eat wixii geela Somalia oo dhan loogu talagalay. I am sure Geedi's camels Are the fattest of them all.

No other State has produced so many leaders. From Sheick Shariif, Nur Cade, Geedi, Mohamed Dheere and even Dr.Baadiyow is from there. Many of the current candidates are originally from this tiny State. We should honour Cow State and the fine leaders it contributed to Somalia, Thank you Cow State.

Good for them. The last Somali athlete (aun)drowned in the Libyan Sea, so who can blame them For wantting a better life. Mahamed and Zamzam, welcome to Qaxooti-land, the land where Somalilanders, Puntlanders, Khatumites, Cow(l)-landers and the 10 diffrent Mudug-lands have their own seperate Mafrish, Maqayad and Masjids.
