Lets be clear this is far from "penis envy" nor am i trying to further this banal exchange to gender binary noise. & there is nothing intrinsically valuable about western epistemology, so to clump me with the mainstream idea of feminism (i.e, middle age white women who gloss over race, class, ethnicity, sex/gender orientation) & the occasional few that are a few fries short of a happy meal is just down right dismissive & reducing. In addition, some things should go without saying, like my love for Somali brothers... i shouldn't be passively coerced to say this to gauge whether what I'm espousing can be written off as *insert man bashing sentiment here.* That brings me to something else that should go without saying... Wadani;925346 wrote: Disclaimer: Im not a misogynist. :D Furthermore, the amount of male members that feel the need to intervene as "the voice of reason" masquerading as "coming to my aid" should be indicative of something.

Wadani;925302 wrote: To SomaliPhilosopher and underdog, She hasn't won by my usage of the word 'give'. In fact it just highlights how woefully blinded she is to the inherent weakness of women vis a vis men. If weren't the voluntary allowances men made for woman in the areas of politics, education, work and business what powers or means of effective change do woman have at their disposal that could force men to grant these rights from a position of weakness? These feminists decry what they call benevolent sexism, but the irony is it's this very same benevolent sexism that has motivated men to cede many rights to women. Feminists have to understand that they didn't take their rights from men, but they were graciously given these rights by men. underdog;925288 wrote: This is the original unwinable argument. Don't go down that road. It's safe to say, it's too late now.

Wadani is a seemingly grown man, i am pretty sure he doesn't need foot soldiers that muddy the water by referring to abstract entities that seek to deflect rather than illuminate inequities... i.e. you mother****** Apophis;925293 wrote: The weak serve the strong. Wadani;925280 wrote: What have Somali men done to u? We love and honour our woman, and give them lots of freedoms that r unthinkable in many cultures of Africa and Asia. Now you are just hoping i placate your ego. Wadani;925280 wrote: and give them lots of freedoms My point exactly.

^^^ LOL no need for that, unfortunately for Wadani i am too detached from my ego. Wadani;925272 wrote: Another mindless feminist drone, fresh off the assembly line from your nearest sociology/women studies faculty of mass production. is this all you got?

Every 9.6secs a woman is battered, you don't have to be a woman to understand the "fuss" just check your unearned male privileges, and be an ally of basic human rights devoid of patriarchy.

Wow, at the amount of sexist ignorance on this thread  Trolls will be trolls.

Sometimes you just need a reminder to unpack your knapsack of privileges.
