  1. A union between "Soil" people and the Arabs is unlikely..and if UCID plays its cards well with its new fresh blood - jamaal - I believe will be strongest opposition party somaliland ever seen.

  5. The only problem that should be overcome is the narrow-mindedness, Sufism is part of Ahlu sunna Wal jamaaca, and they practice Islam the right way. to err is human and perfection is divine, everyone and each group is/are prone to be wrong. There are wrong and misunderstood practices in sufism and usually people generalize the wrong doing of an individual on all the group. In somalia, Sufis were the sole wadaads for long long time and it worked well for us. at that point in our history , sufism was the answer. recently with the emergence of many muslim groups, Sufism is dwindling faster than Yawmal Eid. Sufis .

  13. Marka hore. Alpha is a good cyber-friend and its always pleasure to have him around in SOL as he provides the forum with special aroma. Without him SOL is a boring place for "Duqayda cuslaatay" , he makes the forum young and brings energy to the rusty 10-years-old servers of SOL.. But as he have pointed out in many posts, he have spent a considerable amount in the Land of Somalis, not any other Land but in HARGEISA the cradle of Somali literature and language. Hargeisa where Somali speaking singers, musician and poets of every color and clay seek inorder to have their works certified and accepted by the general somali populace. If hargeisa loves your literary work, Somalis love it. Let me cut to the chase...Sxb I am extremely bothered by your phrase """Ma istiir"""" its simply "Ma istidhi" or "Ma istiri" , I have been thinking its your own personal signature, again I thought you have dyslexia, again I gave you the benefit of doubt and said "odaygu waa dhaqan celis ee ka wareeji", but when I spotted your other somali words, you are neither dyslexic nor you are that much dhaqan celis - anymore - but I hope its your online signature. Moral of story, Stop writing that phrase please. some other dhaqan celis on SOL are learning it the wrong way from you and I have been spotting it around much those days.

  15. Thank you all Dear SOLers... Kollay qaar ducadoodu dhacaysaa waa idinka buuxaan. waad mahadsantihiin. @Xabad....Sxb Being sentimental is being brave enough to admit, For men its easy for them to absorb and show a tough exterior but being a man enough and admitting your sentiment while being sure that your manhood is never touched is true strength... runtaa fiicane I believe men who pretend to be big time tough are the weakest, Exception are those who only know hardships (Reer miyiga)...A true sign of a believer is kindess to other believers and toughness on non-believers. its a huge misconception that men should go all tough on weak women that we are supposed to protect and care for....Hadii aad wax iska celinayso car wakaase raga kale isku adkee inaan laba fuqa lagaa jabin,... @Wyre...Xaaji , Khayr baa kuugu jiray baa lagaa yabaa oo xikmad ilaahay bay ahayd, mid ka khayr badan allaha kuugu dooriyo sxb.

  17. 2012 is when I found my Venus! , it was when I met my Hodan and my Juliet. Love is like virginity, once taken its gone forever, this time I am deflowered, not physically but my heart is besieged by the Trojan of her passion. I was not deprived of womenfolk and I had my fair share of dates, and real-life Love plays, solely driven by the demon of lust and corporeal desires. since my early teens although I am not endowed by what women may call "attractive body"- I am huge torso & head on pasta legs --but when I drive my lips apart and start articulating words, their jaws drop, hypnotized and suddenly my physical attributes were compensated. I recall once a lady who dreaded the language said "You make the irritating Somali language desirable and Romantic", Ironically, I don't know what would "Romantic" translate to Somali but I always replied by an abstract from a hadith ""Indeed some forms poetry are wisdom and some forms of speech are magical." NNKH Frankly my lady to many is not very special. but what confused me a while was , Why Her? then I concluded, Just like everything else "Jacaylku waa calaf" Love is destiny. my philosophic and psychological analysis of this was that I enjoyed the challenge!. All the women I have been in relationships with were all a cliche, nothing special, just the normal Xaliimo and Jaamac talk. This lady approaching her was a taboo, Marrying her would be a heinous act of sacrilege to my conservative family but for the magical feeling of love , I found enjoyment in going against them in this matter as long as I am not displeasing the Omnipotent. After all who am I to abide by rules that are set by some great great great grandfather who is now struggling with his after-life, who am I to live by the mistakes of that Jaamac, that would be wrong and plain stu.pidity...Human is all about evolving and saying NO to what is wrong...Freedom and Equality should not just be words. ..Someone should be the arsonist and burn down the rusting statue of 'culture' ...There is a reason why we have religion and laws... Love is possession. My folks are gossiped to be experienced soothsayers, but the best of soothsayers can never forecast a forthcoming possession of love. I see no other beauty than hers "Jaaheega nuurka leh, baa i jiidanaayee, Juuq uma idhaahdeen, Hadaan Jari karaayee" ~Qalinle. I have tried to describe her in many ways but finally I concluded that her beauty is the Somali beauty, her classic somali visage, her literally golden skin complexion and her million camels smile are nutrition to the heart and soul before the eyes. I feel comfort that the last time I felt at my mothers lap with her, her laugh makes me laugh, her little imperfections are even attractive no matter what they are.....I don't want to speak like the love struck teenager here, but thanks to her she reincarnates the teen inside of me....I should have met her 6 years ago!...Better late than never I guess... Shame is not falling in love, shame is never falling in love. I don't want to ever appear on the shamed lovers hall of fame. now what remains is that I take by her hand and walk the walk. All what I ask dear SOLers is your genuine prayers....May 2013 be the year of my victory. In my wildest dreams I have never seen myself in the cilmi boondhari position....Ironically in previous posts on SOL I defied love and here I am today, a lover.....Life works in mysterious ways indeed.
  18. Sanad waliba hoodiyo, wuxu hadimo leeyahay! Every passing year have its own touch on our lives, some years are cold and they pass without being noticed or having no personal reason to remember ... is there something that makes 2012 memorable, on personal level?

  21. Che -Guevara;903497 wrote: lool@east fox clan, why not just say the qabiil name. Are the mayors and governors appointed or elected? Governors by the president, Mayors by the people.
  22. Xaaji Xunjuf;903498 wrote: Coofle true the clans live there together now the mayor plus deputy mayor are both from the borama clan, perhaps a compromise should happen the governor should remain from the Djibouti clan and the deputy mayor should be from the Djibouti clan. True but a comprimise was proposed to Djibouti clan and they refused.... They continue to maintain the Governer and get the Deputy mayor While Awdal clan will get the mayor...A huge compromise of one side. But the Djibouti clan refused that arrangement and strictly opposed any results that will come forward. Remember at the beginning of elections they announced no other clan should run for election in Zeila district and every party who allows such act will get any form of support from Djibouti clan...only Xaqsoor have agreed to that arrangment. its one of two here...One clan gets the mayor the other gets the Governor...They already have the governor, and they previously had the mayor but lost in fair elections (If Siilaanyo and his govt insist)
  23. Che -Guevara;903464 wrote: They need to find viable solution ASAP. The solution is just to accept the results of recently held elections...simple and clear .. and no body will be hurt except for the greed fueled by the Djibouti administration.
  24. Xaaji that is not the issue.. Saylac is inhabited by both clans, the Djibouti clan never goes beyond Lughaya. Borama and Baki are exclusive for Awdal clan while Saylac and Lughaya are shared. but after 1991 demography have changed and a considerable populations of Djibouti clan have fled to Djibouti. In the recent elections they got 3 from lughaya out of 14 and 7 from saylac out of 17 which is quite fair. the governer of Selal is from Djibouti clan also the mayor was from them, the Awdal clan never objected, knowing that the majority of Seilac were from Awdal clan. Right now what Awdal clan proposed was that they got the mayor this time and djibouti clan get the Deputy mayor and keep the governer. but the Djibouti clan MPs refused to even come meeting. From the Somaliland parliment elections the Djibouti clan won 1 seat out of the 13 assigned seats for the region in a fair election...I see it as pure hypocricy and propaganda that the Djibouti clan always speaks as an Awdal majority. Awdalites are hospitable people and never make a fuss about the issue. but ""Sarmo badan dhibiibyo ayaa laga qaadaa" ... president siilaanyo have no right to interfer in this...May he see what happened in Burco...Both Mayor and Governer are from the East fox clan. .. which is plain wrong in a place inhabited by both clans.. same goes for saylac, common sense doesn't give the minority clan to be both the governer and mayor......what is the point of elections if president will always interfere.
