  1. I don't like to dwell in Somali politics that often (lets face it, whats the point), but I have yet to hear/read about a Minister who has made a difference in his post. Why are these people getting appointed if they cannot serve? Is it lack of funds, resources or both? Beats me
  2. Thats the term I use for the few western Moslems who run back to the Middle East or Africa to spend the Ramadan month. More often than ever I noticed people booking their way out giving me excuses like "The hours are too long in the west" or " I want to be served first class and not lift a finger that month". Shut the front door,,,,,,,,Whatever happened to deeper appreciation for hardwork? Are any of you Moslem Chicken? Or do you know these people? Has the thought crossed your mind? If yes, where are you headed to and why? Can you say pak pak pak pakaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak
  3. Naah man, I aint a superwoman lool. Seeing married couples barely getting by have scarred me for life. I aint even going to attempt multi-tasking. Kuddos to those who do it, but Im frightened @ the thought. Perhaps if I were back in Africa, with 2-3 maids, a chef, driver and a gardner.
  4. Song of my hour: Désolé by Sexion d’Assaut. Heard it song over a year ago in Brussells, and absolutely loved it.....
  5. Don't they have security checks in Xamar? Wareer badanaa lolz
  6. Blessed well said sistah, I agree. Xanta waa haraam indeed. Im offended at the sheer negativity subhanallah. This girl is someone's sister and daughter. A little respect goes a long way. Wouldn't want anyone disrespecting your sister in a public forum, now would you? And pls dont give me the "My sister is a perfect moslem" bs. To each their own, lets appreciate our achievements and "try" to revel in positive energy.
  7. I guess it must have been easier back in the days coz my mom got married while she was still in highschool, and despite that she went to university after she had my brother and me. I feel women who juggle education/career/marriage/children aren't really being true to either of these. Thats why most women in the west are refrigerating their eggs for the future, subhanallah, coz they cannot envisage juggling babies with a highfly career. (Thats just their excuse, they just haven't found the right man yet). Maybe if you have your family at close range to help out, thats a different story. Or if your kids are older, then perhaps you can distract yourself with education if you haven't had the chance prior to getting married. But moi, no way man, I wouldn't have dreamt of starting a family before finishing Uni. Its just impossible. Kids need 100% dedication. Its not fair on them or you. If you are doing something, do it wholeheartedly is my philosophy, or don't do it at all. My 2 Krone.
  8. Hair, you say. Gud God, I have a history of crazy hair variations througout the years. Braiding, cutting, red hair, afro (in my baby years) you name it, I've had it lol. Lately I somewhat neglegted my hair and have adapted to the male lifestyle of wash-n-go. There was a time I would visit the salon twice a week just for the heck of it. But now, because of my travelling, Im lucky if I even remember to use (home-made) nafaqo once a week Speaking of Nafaqo---I use Avacado with olive oil and a couple of eggs. As vile as the concept may sound, your hair gets body and grows like crazy. The odour leaves very little to aspire to, but its worth it. Also I find, through personal experience not to switch shampoos and conditioners as that makes your hair fall out and sometimes your scalp dries up like the oasis. I never used to pack shampoos and conditioners while traveling but now I take my own everywhere I go. I use products from the Motion range, they are absolutely fantabulous. They contain Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract , dunno what the heck their functions are, but they're extremely great for my hair, and they smell amazing.
  9. NGONGE ---Barter system doesnt work anymore lol. Shukran anywayz. Valenteenah thank you. A_Khadar---I can't promise I'll abide by your wise advice, but I will tip-toe around the mines Insha Allah. Thanks Anybody seen Ian (dunno his SOL alias) anywhere? JB and Juxa would know to whom Im refering to. I hope he is doing fine.
  10. I can't believe Argentina got smashed by Uruguay. What a disappointment! Surprisingly enough Venezuela is looking good this year. Interesting.
  11. Well some of us demand attention, and when we speak, people stop in their tracks and listen.....aheey!

JB I was surprised "Nina" didnt give me away since its my real name lol. Glad to see ya brov, I have been chasing life or maybe it was chasing me. Either way Im back and badder than before I have my work cut out for me then by the looks of things, my job is to revive all the crazy threads that were laid before me and jaf jaf the old cobwebs.

  15. What irks me the most about Smellians is that we make everyplace our own instead of concentrating on our land we are busy building and investing in foreign lands urghh. Macruuf,,,,,,,,,,I enjoyed your travels. Never been to Eastleigh but I felt like inaa dhiiqadaas kula taaganahay lol Thanx.
  16. Funny thing is they actually have security checks while entering Mexico, Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Why bother taking your own drugs and weapons when you can get them cheaper in the country?
  17. Somalia --->>A little piece of heaven on earth....So missing it
  18. Hottttttttt Canjeero with saliid macsaro and sokor--drizzled with a little shaah....OMG.....*insert drool here*. Haven't had it in a while, my sister is getting a little complacent, inaa caayo waye xoogaa to kackaci her xanaaq to enter the kitchen.

  20. Paranoia badan aa idin heysataa ma is dhahdeen? Yaab badanaa,,,,,Isn't there a pill for that by now? I have never joined SOL untill now, so if you think Im Mark, Khadijo or Jaamac, ha idinku taagnaato heehehehe. Acting as if y'all in faro la idinka haayo indicates that I have no intention of getting to know the "paranoid" humans oo tooda heysato lol. JB Yes we have met before in another forum lool *wink wink*. Iga celi these vultures, since you know me so well lol. Good to see ya mate. Where are the rest? I guess I have to poke them on facebook or sum'in. Waa shaaaaaash!!!!!
  21. Asc wr wb all, As some of y'all have noticed, Im relatively new on this site, and as it has been running for a long time, unfortunate for me, all the good topics are over and done with. I would like to participate and let y'all know that Im not here to bash anyone, pass judgment or trash on anybody's parade. Im a very positive person and extremely openminded. I don't indulge in forum-cat fights as I find that to be extremely opposite to my personality. So in anticipation of good faith, I would like to welcome y'all to my world lol. Yes yes Im welcoming you, since non of y'all took the initiative to welcome me. PS: I'll let y'all on a little secret. I have socially hung out with a few SOL-ers prior to my joining, years ago. Lets see if they can figure me out manuure-yaasha. I see some of them are still active, the old crocodiles.
  22. Im merely overwhelmed by the statement "flights to Somalia" and am jumping in my seat with excitement. Companies actually fly there inspite of............Hmmmm. Interesting! Go on.......................I, for one, am following this trip
  23. Nobody is helping I guess I have to resort to extreme measures to find my homies lol
  24. Mohammed;733756 wrote: What was that? A school for Indians? HAHAHAHAH Nice one. Not just for Indians, it was an International school. We had a lot of those in Mogadishu like The American Embassy School, The Egyptian School etc. Atleast 80% of the students were diplomat offspring. Ofcourse Xamar had a lot of Non-Somalis. Most of my teachers were Indians born in Somalia. Our dance teacher was related to the Kenyan Ambassador and my science teacher for a semester was from Ethiopia. My classmates were from Japan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey to name a few. An interesting variety of confused people from all over the world tossed in one building. It was the best school ever, in my opinion.
  25. Ahmed is an Islamic name and clearly "Gurey" is a nickname given to him by the locals. His real name is Ahmad Ibn Ibrahim Al-Ghazi. My information was accurate, he was an Arab born in Zaylac, who invaded Ethiopia in the early 1500's. Use your common sense and find the information, instead of "trying" to patronise ppl. It may help feed your ignorance. Just a hunch!
