  1. LMAO @ Faheema. Am I going lala or are these girls planning a ramadan without Samosas? *Rolls eyes and slams the door @ the sheer thought*. Hiyaa Juxa (Lately Im the one being put to sleep) I aint proud of it, has happened a couple of times. As long as I wake up before the baby, no-one wud know! *Shuuuuuuuuuuuuush*
  2. Valenteenah there should be a more compassionate approach towards the grieving families I agree sweety. My abti passed away in February (Ilaahey ha u naxariisto intii dhimatey) and as soon as ay nafta deysey within minutes (his face wasn't even covered walaahi cadiim, the body was still warm) and people started planning the lunch menu and the venue for the gathering. Yaab aniga. I was shocked at the audacity. ************************************************************************************************************************* I noticed a lot of Malis complaining about the poor healthcare system in the UK. I believe its not that the Docs/Nurses have no knowledge, but its because the resources are overstretched due to this influx of qaxootis claiming free healthcare. A woman once said "If someone goes to the doctor and claims to have Aids or Cancer, the doctor would simply prescribe you a box of Paracetamol (equivalent to Tylenol) and ask you to come back after a week, to report how well you've recovered" lol. Maternity is a serious business. A woman gets abundant information during pregnancy (in her own language) so there is no excuse for one to complain. The "holding the baby the second its born" thing is a western practice surely but you fill a form way ahead of time to inform the Midwives/Nurses of your choices. When a woman is in labour, if she asks for a female doctor I believe she aint in real labour at all. Qof xanuun haayo doesn't have the time to be calling on favours. A doctor is a doctor in my opinion, I wouldn't care if it was a male Chimpanzee wearing a yellow bikini with a toy stethescope, if it can pop the baby out, thats your primary concern.

Cheapest deal is 280 GBP depending on your departure date from Heathrow or Gatwick. I travelled on it once, not a pleasant experience, but then again I was a backpacker and on a string budget, to calaacal about comfort was not an option. Eurostar is the best option if you want to go to Paris. Its around 80 bucks a pop. Its advisable to book your holiday in advance and dodge the holiday period if you can, as the tickets are sky high at these times. Good Luck..... Good morning humans, wadzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap?
  4. N.O.R.F;736314 wrote: I wouldn’t say Somalis are rude but just louder than most people I agree with ya. Forget ajanabi people, growing up I used to hate the Xalimos coming to visit mom. They would not even look at ya, all you hear is "Naa bal shaah ii keeen". I told mom once (infront of her friend), if this fat qumayo doesn't say PLEASE, I will not serve her. Needless to say I had an earfull from mom about respect and the somali etiquette. Back to the topic: It is common decency to be polite when dealing with someone who is incharge of your health. I recently spent 3 days in a hospital and didn't have a problem. I wasn't expecting to be waited on hand and foot, but I took whatever was offered in stride. Maybe Im a naive optimist and never complain lol. Infact one of the nurses said to me "I haven't met a nicely behaved Somali in yonkers". Should I be offended here or just marinate in the compliment? Taking the nature of our people into consideration and the fact that she was a fellow African (Nigeria) made me revert from the answer I was going to give her. *Waa ka qaleyeey*. I see her point and actually agree with her. Dadkeena please and thank you maba isticmaalaan yaab badanaa. Its been what, 20+ years out of Somalia, and our people have yet to learn Adaabta iyo Anshaxa. I cringe everytime Im in public and some random Farax or Xalimo is screaming at the top of their lungs either speaking on the phone or they're talking amongst themselves. They can be heard all the way to Hafuun I tell ya. I feel some people should check their eardrums, coz saan caadi maba ahan. I don't know about other countries, but in the UK, Nurses are unappreciated and over worked maskiinyaasha. If you see someone unhappy in the career they've chosen its either they are not working in an unfriendly environment or they got prollemmms with their pay check. You think customer service in Europe and North America is bad, wait till you encounter a government/health worker in Syria or Uganda. You will grab whatever is thrown your way in the west with both hands, trust me.
  5. I caught a glimpse of The Stream this morning on Al Jazeera. These birdbrain nations are "allegedly" pouring billions and billions into Somalia knowing full well the government and NGO's accountable to assist the poor are incompetent. Obviously the money never reaches those concerned because it is distributed erratically, layering the corrupt leaders fat pockets who "claim" to be working for a good cause. What a waste. The irony is they use the media to air the sufferings and impecuniousness. To make matters worst, they're laughing all the way to the bank, leaving those in dire need more desperate than they were before. Pathetic....absolutely loathsome.
  6. If it aint triangular, it aint a samosa in my opinion lol. Horta how on earth did Samosa become the primary Ramadan pastry for Somalis? Taasaan la yaabey.
  7. Agenda or no agenda, its high time Africans take advantage of this. God only knows how many centuries these westerners have been ripping us, and still are. So kuddos to Somaliland. 100 Million you say,,,,Im moving to Hargeisa (Jaceylbaro you hear me) lol
  8. Ramadan without samosas? loool That ain't happening in my house. I will protest, cry, jump from the ground floor window,,,aheey. Here's a thought: If Al Shabab have a problem with christians, why are most of them (their associates, wives and children) in Europe/Canada claiming welfare? Yaab badanaa. 2 Wejilenimada waa xaraaan,,,sawirsanaa waxu.
  9. I bet the people in Somalia sniggered when they heard this. How ridiculous! People are dying of starvation iyagana sambus ee kaga dhagtey cajalada. They crossed the limit when they banned the foreign aid provided by NGO's claiming "Its christian food". Walaahi they are sick dadkaan. They have no right to control any help given by anyone specially when they are not providing any source of income for the poor people living under their psychotic regime. Sawirsanaa waxu. I have never wished ill upon anyone in my life, but I wish all the ignorant Al Shababis to rot in hell. Ilaahan iga baryeey inuu nolosha iyo aakhiraba ku ca***** dadkaan oo muslimiinta nafta u keneey.
  10. Ramadan Karim to all my (Old friends) and to the new ones lol. I hope this year we all donate to the worthy cause that is our beloved country's tragedy. May Allah give us all ajar and increase our iman (Amin).
  11. Turn off your ipods, throw away your mp3's for a month folks. My last song of the month........(Insha Allah) When the cats come out, the bats come out to play :)
  12. Sorry folks....didn't realise there were like more than 3 threads similar to this in the Politics section. How on earth does one delete a thread horta? Wareer badanaa lol

I dont actually take any form of medication, not even strepsils lool. Can't stand the stuff. Matter of fact its been around 7 years last I stepped into my doctors office. Thanx for asking thou.
  14. buurdheere You are right, Qur'an is over-rated for you. When you get sick "Newtonian optics", "E=MC 2" and "Keplers Law" theories hala igu aqriyo dheh, call a scientist.
  15. Accepting evolution as a moslem is like denying the primo humans decendents i.e; Adam and Hawa. It doesn't state anywhere in the Qur'an that man evolved from apes, and accepting evolution as a theory is haram (in my opinion). A Pakistani medical student said: "I accept it when I am in a hospital and reject it when I go home". What a hypocrite.
  16. Hahahahah me 2. I thought it was a religious story (the ones that make you go Aaaah). But no, its a fat arab who is so bored with his over-sized belly that he is now playing with sand. Wuxu sawirsanaa!
  17. My first reaction was "Oh no, not AlQaeda again". Then as I read in depth I discovered that was not the case. What puzzles me is how he managed to blast the building and then run 45 minutes to the island to shoot the kids. Busy terrorist iga dheh. I bet he had an accomplice. I pray for all the innocent ppl who have been struck by this tragedy.

Guys at the cost of coming across as a hypocrite (coz the thought has crossed my mind to migrate to better and brighter lands), but think about the cost of the plane ticket alone. Lets just say for the sake of argument one ends up spending between $1000-$3000 (tickets/hotels inc), and then imagine the amount of people you could aid with that amount of money-------and the Ajar one might incur. According to globalgiving.org: *$35 can provide nourishing food for a child for a month *$50 can provide emergency care for a struggling baby *$100 can help a child survive the drought I'll leave this for y'r guilty conscience, marinate in it lol .(Apologies in advance) sour grapes I know, coz I aint going nowhere this year Insha Allah. Som@li lool thanxxx
  19. When you bump into someone in the street and they say "Hadeer ayaan kusoo socdey" Yaab badanaa oo been ku kabo weynaa. Muridi must be a famous SOL-er. Im going to help y'all look for him since he is missed. My PI skills are second to non, aaheey.
  20. JB thanxxx...My friend told me she sang one of my favourite songs "Wejiyaal is xasuustaa". Aliyaah lool Juxa knows everything. She is my human encyclopedia.
  21. Disgusting. What do these clowns achieve by killing innocent people? Subhanallah....Cruel indeed.
  22. I was once tempted to visit the tombs of Hassan and Hussein in Syria. Legend (maybe false) has it that Fatima .ra. is also buried there. I like visiting historic places but you can not trust a syrian cabbie who is out there to make a quick buck at your expense, and besides graves and tombs scare me so I opted not to. And there were people breathing down my throat saying WAAA DAMBI QABURAHA LAMA SIYAARTO. Who said anything about it being a religious experience. I wouldn't have beaten my head against their grave and chant mantras, gosh. I would treat it as if it was trip to the Guggenheim. Just curious! Alpha The blue-ness of the sea is breathtaking. Awesome.
  23. Im not familiar with her work but I hear she was top notch in Somali qaraami genre. Allaha u naxaristo, May Allah grant her eternal jannah, Amiin.
  24. Oooh me gosh, she is soo adorable, maasha allah. She's very convincing "Macaan" waye kute---. My favourite kids add is of the Haribo candy line (Sign the fesshion, Look into my eyesssssssssss). Kids are just cute little buttons, ilaahey ha dhaafee.
  25. I would love to be somewhere close to Mosques or better yet Umra. Not for the reasons some ppl are feeding me, but because I want to enjoy the perks of the blessed month to really feel humble and pray. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “When the month of Ramadan arrives, go for ‘Umrah, because `Umrah in Ramadan is like accompanying me on Hajj.” [bukhari] Getting back to your question------No, this year (for once) Im planning to stay put Insha Allah. I experienced travelling during Ramadan a few times and it was a very uncomfortable experience. Hotel food for iftar---yukh. Not recommended.
