i quite honestly dont believe that neither Hillary nor obama are going to win. dont get wrong i would love for Obama to win. but whole-heartedly i dont believe white supremacy rule has come to an end. Mc caine is going to win- but offcourse the polls will show a close call. i mean afterall America advocates "equality". they have been given the ability to run for presidency- thanks for trying. mybe in a couple of decades when attitudes have changed in the general masses as well as those in goverment settings.

^ Afraid to joke about Islam?Muslims we are the target of every 'enlightened' news organization and the butt of almost all their jokes. the worst kind in my view are the sly underhanded insults that go unchallenged for example you all heard recently Barak Obama was 'accused' of being a Muslims (as if it was a crime ). and how does he respond by vehemently denying it like its something dirty....... and some news organization come out to 'defend' him against the 'accusations'. This is twisted in soo many ways ......... where do you even begin Gosh......literally i don't know whether to laugh or cry. the state of our plight is almost serial.

somali-men love their KHAT. don't fall into the trap of calling it leaves, they will argue on every basis that its not a leave. most of all don't ever tell them to give it to the sheep. yep you have insulted their faith. you have officially declared war, you have insulted their family... you get the picture. somali girls love to be affiliated with being light skinned. words like "cadeey" and "birimo" which serve as a constant reminder of their lightness.......will mean automatic enlistment in their good books. somali girls HATE!! to be called "NAYAA". this is an inflamatory word which call for automatic boycotting of any association with you. not will the girl who you said it be angry but suddenly you have the whole girls in the neighbourhood suddenly plotting your demise.

allah yarham. my gosh why do i suddenly see the erosion of somali-culture and somalia as a whole. i know we are all going to die- but to lose cultural people like this only reinforces the gravity of somalias situation. with no one to replace these individuals who have driven somali culture i feel like the somali-culture is going to disintegrate into thin air.

^^^ yeah, and u would know
-
Hunguri do u mean this extolting to be something u observed or merely something you can relate to. So when u are advocating hiingalo beauty then its just replying to “the most beautiful girls in Somalia” thread but when I hail “Qaloocan” then I am automatically from there. Btw thanks for the accurate conclusion but since this has turned Into a case of family legacy then, it would make sense for u to conclude with Hiingalo or Badhan.

Gosh, i cant believe i nearly missed this topic( get ready for a whole pages worth reply) . i would recommed CLASSICS!!........ Jane Austen: pride and prejudice, EMMA!! ISlamic books: THE IDEAL MUSLIMAH(beautiful) FAVOURITE AUTHOR: JUlIET MARILLIER this lady is just amazing...........all her books!!!

Them let me see one of them ,, just to make sure the qurux is the one we're meaning not the one Somalis call NUUR when he is as black as a charcol. what can i say u are going to have search for these people if u want the definition of beauty, words are beyond description.... i am picturing Zakinah and Buuxo to be this 5ft reer-quruux beauties.... no wonder allready waa-laa xaalaleeyey
-
hands up for Zakinah....Habaryar waan ku salamey. Hunguri, here i was thinking that u would be a well rounded brother in this aspect. how can u talk about beauty and not know Qaloocan!!!. not only is beauty found there... but they have women whose tribe is "reer Qurux".(reer-beauty) if that is edited. let that speak for itslef.

wow, the guy is a legend, if this is what happens when he is gone, one can only wonder what would happen in his presence.

MMR, can we have a "somali word per day", sort of like dictionary word for a day??. i am guessing that this is a universal activity.......

you are right fahiye it is a personal choice and everyone is entitled to their opinion It is personal choice, i wouldnt want my 'wife' to work if I can afford to give her a respectable living she deserves. , however on that note, i don't see why marriage and work must be mutually exclusive. who said that you could nto work and still raise a family?. when i am studying i long for holidays to come anytime soon and when holidays have come i long to go back to studying, everyone has to stimulate thier mind, everyone should do rigourous work, unlike the typical preverted somali ideals which require you to sit and stay home all day. hello, i don't know about where u live but in australia weight problems are high in our agenda. the religion doesn't hold her back from working why should you?, not only that islamically speaking she does not have to spend the money she earns on her family, its the mans responsibility to provide, she can spend that money all to herself, without any "danbi". its not a matter of proving that you can work and provide for your family(as a role of man offcourse) its the fact that she can feel a sense of having a control of her life, despite the fact that i am implying that she needs to be "independent", as much as i hate to use that word.

baax; leave joog; the sound a door makes when being closed Qaab: another noise for the closing of door taag: 'go" (incorrect somali spelling, u all get the picture) Qub-Qaac, Quub-Qaac: the noise high heels make Zam-Zam; when eating at a highly fast speed Diig-Diig:the noise for knocking on a door. Daag-Daag: "hurry" oorad "baax" intaa albaab -kaan "qaab" sii-siid adoo tartiibtada socotiid, oo an "qub-Qac" kaa yeeren "daag -daag" fridge "taag",cunta-dada markaa cuntiid albaa kaanah "joog" soo sii.

xoogsade are u seriously so blind to see or are you in an essence purposely diverting your attention. ^ Well saxib, the verbal onslaught on the TFG came from warlords alone and not from Muqdisho clans(or clans living there). Muqdisho residents celebrated the TFG formation and the election of A/Y by his peers. People didn't care who won, what clan the winner belonged to, they wanted to replace Anarchy with law and order and to fight alongside the TFG leader amid suspicion and tension alluring in the air, the ICU formed what other result are you going to get but this outcome?. I am not accusing the ICU of being the corrupt ones, I am stating that there is too many shades of grey ,for people who are fighting in the name of allah they need to fight for peace, why cause more corruption in an attempt to bring this government down. The government surely are not the ones hit, at the the end of the day it’s the civilians. They are fighting another individual who have submitted to their lord aren’t they?”. i think your best disclaimer went to : Muqdisho residents celebrated the TFG formation and the election of A/Y by his peers. People didn't care who won, what clan the winner belonged to i honestly cant believe how you dislude yourselve why resistance when there is a cause for celebration. Are u telling us all in here that the ICU did not contain any warlords that it was only the TFG that can be accused of employing warlords? Are you telling us that the TFG are the only ones solely responsible for this outcome? Has the lesson from our current past been in vain? The reality is not as bleak as you make it seem, the people need to follow their leader. This should've been the ICU's very priority. If the current rules were really that corrupt then they should've co-operated until they gained power which would've been better in long term, but no they rushed to seize power and the TFG which was not any better, made another wrong. two wrongs don't make a right and the bottom line is not that the TFG lost best chance to make some good history is that the ICU did not negotiate and the TFG did not hestiate and overall: any chance to make good history for somalia was concluded prematurely -
surely this is quite tragic....... the other night i was watching one of his rawayeed, "xaajo ugud", which was a another wonderful work by him.........oh dear.

seriously this does not go down but with a hint of racism.as if they need to fuel anymore ambitions!!. if they are that serious in their need to preserve modesty, then why couldn't they start with those nude beachs........the design of a white man. this has to be judged with one hypocritical outlook by moi. We don't want to see your backside." more like..... this hypocritical law, we will not abide

get a divorce???, I thought I had found the love of my life. The way this Prince of Joy spoke to me, the things he wrote, the tenderness in every expression was something I had never had in my marriage. shouldn't have this spiced up their marriage life............i mean they have found out sides that they never knew of each other.if that is not a excuse to re-marry i don't personally know what is.

this topic is a preview of the subject that will be discussed in marie-calire magazine in next months issue. Whilst this may both perplex many of you- its not what you think. quite frankly i happen to find a good read. here is the full version. web page http://www.

I dated Meredith in my dreams. lool. don't worry i can say the same for "McDreamy". man why can't we have hot somali-doctors like that!!!. I think Heroes is the coolest show on earth. , naah, i would have to say that its a bit too "corny" for me. i tried to keep watching but with futile effort. I could not figure out what/who was doing the body mutilation thingy(my limited knowledge is apparent). Awlugeeye, what is that: I have a good freind of mine who is doing his residency in ENT Head and Neck Surgery and boy do this people go through hell during their residency (Yes we do have Somali doctors). Dee saxiibka nuguu salaan, salaan deer nooga-geeeh.

what can i say, my sunday nights planns are filled. is it just me, or is greys anatomy one of the best series of all time!! i love the plot, i love the actors but most of all i love their depiction of black actors with such high hierachy. this weekend a friend of mine asked me to come with her to the gym , my plan oofcourse was to leave close to the time greys anatomy was on, giving me enough time to settle comfortbly with my "shah" ready for its arrival. But it turned out i missed half an hour of it, and man was i dismayed  now i feel like my whole week has been ruined!!! anywaz i went and did some phone-ringing to see what i had missed amd it seems like nothing my imagination could fix, although i would've love to see the reaction on "Mcvets" face when Meredith chose "McDreamy". "Mcsteamy" is soooo hot!!! i wonder though if they had a new doctor would they call him "McHot", (i will let them come up with a better name) but my bet is that it will be along the lines of "Mc"..... Anywayz, it seems ever-tiring that i have to wait another week, but hey at least the wait does create an anticipation of its own.

i am thinking of seeing it but can not summon enough "excuses" to go and see it. you see i am not a fan of these political type of movies-especially those that don't have "love" as a central theme. no i am not corny, but its just that too much violence and depiction of power can surely erode my enthusiasim for films. i am still pondering on whether i am going to see it.
