I find the attitudes towards rape victims disturbing and I'd rather not read them. you can't just pick and chose your mistakes. YOU made a CLEAR mistake. please apologies. Saffz, inabti, please don't misconstrue my intentions. i would never personally condone kufsi, ma garatay? i'm merely saying.....there are vile women out there who have no qualms about fabricating heinous allegations of kufsi, dee. this is why a woman only get half of what the man gets in inheritance. if you don't believe me........ask the Saudis.

Haatu;987040 wrote: A soothing foori by a nomad boy I can only do the simple loud one abti, iska da this constant spiel of rural Romanticism. it's getting unbearable. it would appear your distortions are based on a melancholic, blurred figments of, and imaginations of idyllic rural identity. we ought to refrain from idealising the countryside as a place of the quiet idyllic living...... the reality could not be more stark. it’s a difficult life of subsistence and dependency on the elements. indeed by commodifying the rural idyll through a rose-tinted nostalgic diaspora-ism, we risk creating an idealised notions of the rural life. this in turn portrays the rural experience as a single entity, when the rural experience is as multi-faceted and diverse as the urban and city experiences. for goodness sakes he is not happy there. he has to get up at 4am everyday and work those camels all day for a meager and fruitless life. why the romanticism abti?. cala kuli xaal.....the nomadic life is harsh and people should be encouraged to settle in urban areas.

Man I thought the Kenyan Police were bad, but the Somali cops take it to a whole another level. This type of stuff shouldn't surprise any of us you needn't accuse them of being corrupt and thuggish. the burden of prove lies with the women who've made such allegations their bread and butter. 4 witness, somaha?

  17. ^ i'm an educator. that's different from being a teacher. it's like being a motivational speaker as opposed to being a lecturer. teaching is awesome, abti. i've been a teacher 4 times in my life. the experiences have made me a better person, ruunti. you can always do a PCGE and become a teacher, too. you'll be considered as ''key worker'' and will get first dips on housing schemes. there's even a pension, apparently.
  18. Hat, abti, islam and politics are incompatible somaha?
  19. guleed_ali;986734 wrote: Cool vid Alpha, As a former high school teacher myself (predominately Somali student population) I can echo the sentiments the author put so astutely. A big problem with some (or most) Somali parents is that it is very difficult to convince them that attending University may not be the best path for their child(ren). A high number of Somali children are put into these categories of ADHD/ADD. This may sound harsh but many Somali parents want their children to make them look good in front of their peers over becoming successful (the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive). P.S: Someone needs to do research into this form of learning using animated characters, don't think I would've watched it otherwise. as an educator myself, i've come to appreciate the use of visual aids as tools to enhance the education experience. people learn differently and it's important to accommodate all. in my classrooms, i feel it's important to make learning as interactive as possible. participation is crucial. using traditional techniques (teacher talks and students listen) polarises the class. i find it's important to organise group based activities. this allows everyone to participate. i've also organised group presentations using the projector. just last week in one of our introductory classes.....i wrote on the board - ''what is education''. my aims were two-fold: 1. to give a background to education 2. to get a sense of what the students deem as ''education''. the discussion was very interesting.
