  1. For many years now, i was convinced that xamar was a hell-hole and the world's most dangerous city, not my words but accolades conferred upon xamar by journalists with predisposed opinions . this has all turned out to be wrong and i'm so happy and delighted that xamar and xamaris are working together to fix their city and country. it’s a crucial time in Somali history and I never thought that i'd live to see a day when people will enjoy the beaches of lido or have cups of tea in the streets of xamar-jab-jab inner city undisturbed. it was a truth i wasn’t ready to accept but I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate xamar and xamaris for their miraculous achievements. xamar is a historic beautiful city with a tortured and heinous past but now the xamaris are working hard to take ownership of their city and doing wonderful things. this is surely worthy of acknowledgement and acclaim. we must give credit where its due and accept the full truth/reality on ground without question. Once again – well done and congratulations on your achievements. take this opportunity to take heed of your past and work for a better future, a future of peace, prosperity and plenty for all.
  2. saw aarafat again yesterday and it wasnt the best experience. he also invited his local friend and he was annoying and somewhat abrasive. he asked if i knew what 'hoono' is? and i was very offended. these bloody reer-western somaliland are pathetic walahi!
  3. dearest juxa, the xamarawi folk are doing too well in hargeisa no doubt a result of the conducive business environment. there is no denying that they've infiltrated every aspect of society. some of my bestest friends are from xamar and we are working very close together to further develop our cooperation lol. my biggest worry now is; with xamar on the verge of turning a new chapter, they will return to their heartland but hopefully with a solid base already built in hargeisa. xamar finding its feet is a win - win for all and i'm sure you'd agree that now is the time to come back to stake your claim. indeed!
  4. the idea, meanings around and scope of the diaspora is fairly new to xamar. i doubt whether these diaspora people have the capacity to do well there; they've set themselve too high an expectation. here in hargeisa, the diaspora is well developed, connected and has an extensive almost an ''old-boys network club''. very positive to see xamar developing and making progress.

Now as self employeed, I am to fill a tax return form when I've been active for a year. 10% is nothing compared to Western countries- but the salaries are a lot lower so it makes sense to tax according to people means. ^ 10%? is this when you worked for silaanyo's national bank? lol! the minister of works and social affairs have my details why haven't they taxed me aniga?
  6. lol@malika, kulaha obession! well that's just pathetic isn't it!
  7. Apophis;860930 wrote: Yes "kick them out" but if you want to find jobs for the young people the country will have to start exporting more than Goats and Camels. Also far worse than "AIDS" is the diaspora money which creates a culture of "boqol dollar iisoodir" leading to idleness. Ban that too. yes! kick them out... we've suffered for far too long living on handouts and dependency! what this country needs is more trade/business-oriented growth! this will give us a way out of this quagmire. business MUST be encouraged and there should be inducements packages that will attracted FDI. the govt must tax heavily and proportionally. privatise and take a controlling share/ golden share of 24% of all stated owned enterprises. more public-private partnerships MUST be implemented. this govt must intervene in the market more as left to its own devices, we will witness even more negative externalities. migration must be controlled and a policy of regional development must occur in the periphery. high growth and high job creation type sectors MUST be given a priority. NGOs must be strictly regulated. there should more taxation against NGOs/INGOs. 'hot money' or diaspora money must be strictly controlled ensuring that there is consistency in currency values.

Most of all I dislike some of the people who work for NGOs, who endless moan about backward people, how cleaver they are, how much scarifies they are making for being paid to fill out justifications forms, reports and heaven forbid meet few locals (as suppose to them being jobless in the west). Down down with the NGO business for it is nothing more than money making business, with the lion share, shared out in Kenya and the few Somalis here getting the crumbs to justify their existence. Not one NGO has an exit strategy for when they are no longer need, each one needs to write how bad Somalia/ Somaliand is to justify their presence, their RnR paid holidays and pay grade for working in a war zone etc Yep- NGOs and their workers probably pray for instability and chaos, so their donor keeps flowing, their projects sustained and payment to increase. P.s. There are some exceptions but they tent to have their own agend- mainly religous, but they are a lot smaller and more effective. The NDP is good, but a very tall order to achieve! i love how you're being a complete hyprocrite IBZ! you are the biggest NGO sympathiser alive and against bottoms-up grass-rooted sustainable development supported by a selected few. there are many of which you are certainty the biggest devil who are pillaging this country of its precious resources and would gladly hand it to your white pay masters! how despicable!

  10. lol@LANDER, the Somali-'Lander' from a distance who sits on the sidelines and hurls abusive words on alpha. the solution is fairly simple. kick them out. my friend was telling me the other day there are 40,000 people employed in the whole country. this is potentially true if we consider those employed in the formal sectors of the economy.
  11. i don't work as an NGO worker u div! i hate NGOs and see them as purely 'foreign agents'. they've infiltrated every aspect of society. its disgraceful. i know many NGO workers some even at the top end of the pyramid. they disgust me with their mocking anecdotal little stories lol.
