  7. HARGEISA (Somalilandsun) – Non State actors are an integral part of health development in the country. This was revealed by the executive director of the Somaliland Non state Actors Forum-SONSAF Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Mahmud during a welcoming meeting for Mr. Christopher Stanfield at the forum's offices in Hargeisa. Mr. Stansfield is a British citizen who is in the country where he concluded the epic 4000 Kms journey he undertook on foot from Cairo to Hargeisa in order to raise awareness on Somaliland and funds for the Edna Aden Hospital. During the meeting the SONSAF boss who congratulated the youthful Briton for his charitable act towards health promotion in the country informed that his organization and individual members shall fully participate in the Stanfield local fundraiser which is geared towards helping raise his ₤100,000 target for the Edna Hospital. The local fundraiser established by Stanfield has attracted a lot of sponsors spearheaded by Dahabshil and its sister company of SOMTEL as well as SONSAF, Sagal jet, Somalilandsun.com, Somaliland.org, Geeska Afrika and Juba express among others. Negotiations with others like Telesom and government institutions are underway thus a full house of local sponsors during the launch of the Stansfield appeal on at the civil service hall in Hargeisa on Sunday 13th Jan 2012. The appeal has has so far attracted some local donations through the accounts of Dahabshil HRGD33141and ZAAD 4806599 -------- madness but to give credit where it's fully due - he has done an excellent job. our hopes and aspirations now solely rest on Christopher ''the Epic Trekker'' Stanfield. he has achieved more than the 'barjaaj' minister of foreign affairs, whose travels have thus far FAILED to produce the elusive recognition. He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands. Xaaji Xunjuf;907271 wrote: Kids imitate what they see that's the message children of Somaliland and Somalia are the future of these countries, our grandfathers told us something some of their wise words. But our grandfathers were living under colonial Britain and Colonial Italy and they lived in a different time a different perspecitve the parents of these children some how shape their ethics their morals what their fundamental beliefs are. And to a certain level their identity also the environment they live in plays a significant role. For example Somaliland parents tell their children this land the republic of Somaliland was liberated with the sweat and blood of our people. With out its sovereignty you have no identity no homeland you can call home. Somaliland was declared as an independent state to give you a fine future cherish it like its you're own child .So that you and you're children and their children will never be ruled in their homeland never again. The parents of Somalia tell their children Somalia is the nation we inherited from our grandfathers who fought for its independence against colonial Italy SYL protect it with all you're might from all external enemies and internal enemies. By hook or by crook the northern separatists have no right to exist as an independent state and must be brought back. The land they call Somaliland is as much you'res as any other person from Somalia if you give it up you have shamed you're grandfathers and what they stood for. Now imagine when those kids grow up do you think they would sing kumbaya and hold hands:D absoultely. i couldnt agree more XX. Konfurians must change their approaches and the way they raise their kids. it's rather silly to tell your kid he can claim Somaliland when Xamari is burning. some of the kids i knew in the UK used the labels ''Lander'' and ''Mali'' to designate where appropriate, when talking of Somaliland and Somalia.
  14. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL excellent piece of acting by the kids. this ingrained notion, of Somalia being always a unified nation and the Somalis being a nation of united Somalis, is the wishful thinking, induced by the a new generation of people without any connection to the homeland, without knowledge and what the historical revisionists from the qurbaha mistake for good diasporic relations between Somalis being reflected across the political landscape. the ultimate facts of the case are, that nation-states, or rather the concept of nation-states, are a fairly recently phenomenon and have NO real practical application to the somali people. whether Somaliland decides to go its own way or to reunite with its southern neighbouring country CANNOT be decided by Somalia. the fate of Somaliland remains firmly within its own hands. the great strides made by the Somaliland people and Government over the last 21 years is a reflection of Somaliland taking control of its affairs. these great effects towards peace, democractisation and indeed the organic processes of reconciliation have been wholly achieved by Somaliland efforts ALONE and without outside influence, assistance and politics of paternalism that's ravaged Somalia's collective mindset and that of its people. certainty, Somalia, as thought, a victim of outside manipulation, has to all intent and purposes developed a pitiful and indeed a self-induced mindset so detrimental to its own existence; help us! Somaliland wants to DESTROY Somalia and its integrity. Al-Shabaab are destroying the Somali Culture Ethiopia is the great ENEMY of the Somali people Kenya wants to redraw the map to take our off-shore oil. its always one thing or another. there is always an outside enemy, some evil doer intent on destruction but NEVER the admission of fault, of poor governance, off internal division, off poor leaders, off willful negligent, off tribal warfare, off opportunism, off misfortune and so and so forth......... WAKE UP Somalia from your sleep paralysis and smell the coffee, as it were!
