^ i don't usually go to Qurbo-Joogian romanticist type events.

the arts should be accessible to all not just a few expats, NGO workers and elite Qurbo-joogians. Somaliland literature has for far too long been championed by Qurbo-Joogian apologists, whose chronic paternalism has not only completely alienated readers but neutered and emasculated Somaliland based authors. HIBF works with a patronising ‘internationalist’ foggy tokenism, promoting international authors or Qurbo-Joogian authors, whose musings and civilising mission undertones lack context or indeed relevance to the realities on the ground, to the detriment of Somaliland based authors. conscious cultural critics like myself value grass-roots, organically inspired cultural products, products grounded in real life experiences and not some pre-judged culturally distant stereotype informed by the overarching Qurbo-Joogian romanticist mindset. this mindset not only hijacks Somaliland cultural and literary products for its own ends but more significantly constructs a condescending, cultural straight jacket and stereotypical concoctions to self-aggrandising audiences. this dominant milieu or the prevailing Qurbo-Joogian romanticist mindset is the dominant ideology that inhibits Somaliland-based literature from the mainstream, at least here in the nation's capital. what i'm proposing here, in my capacity as a conscious cultural critic, is a 'back to basics' approach, bringing alternative and seldom documented experiences into the cultural mainstream; with the intention of shining a light with the aim of uncovering, and authentically documenting, hard to reach cultures and sub-cultures that exist in the Somali-speaking world and in particular Somaliland. these voices should be organically sourced from their own communities (instead of being white, English speaking, off a Qurbo-Joogian romanticist mindset), given the tools and the encouragement to write books based on their experiences and values rather than having a romanticist Qurbo-Joogian ethno-centric culturally biased world-view forced upon them. the most important point is to realise that this romanticist Qurbo-Joogian ethno-centric culturally abusive milieu is the number one impediment to Somaliland authors and readers alike.

Coofle;974003 wrote: Alpha why do you have to fear to be exposed? are you involved in terrorist activity? *Terrorist* that is the only thing people scared of these days, Just avoid it and do what else and nobody cares. abti, do i look like a terrorist to you? i'm a salafist, ma garatay? our religion is peaceful, well most of the times . i'm fearful because i received some credible information about certain folks on SOL bringing online social drama to the public sphere. this is UNACCEPTABLE. inaar, as you'll no doubt be aware, i want to be a politician and i usually writing all sorts of nonsense on this site but what happens on SOL must stay on SOL, maha? it's disgusting and quite frankly vile to use my own ridiculous posts against me. anyway, i've denied these heinous allegations against my person. of course, such vile defamation and what can only be described as premeditated evil intentions against Al, have seriously tested my confidence on this site balse i'm in the least bit interested about their shameful attempts to mock, ridicule and make slurs against person. i reckon, this was the same reason why the legendary Abwaan quit SOL but yet continues to browse with a somewhat interrogative manner. i havent decided what course of action i'll take but i hope it never happens again. i'm obviously hurt and terribly disappointed by these exposes balse kheyr and victory will be mine. it's not the first time i have been qarxised on this site. this has for the most part been spurred on by ciyaal-like innocence but i'm not like that in the real world. i reckon, it probably won't be the last time, but i don't care. waa siday tahay.

New PIRS system which makes Hargeisa compliant with international standards and best practices. Mr. R.C. Gupta - chief engineer of the project. http://www.ictonline.com/team.html uff fooqal akhas to these negative and hateration comments of the emotional sentiment sort. the kuwait fund 10million in total. 6 was used to repair Hargeisa airport. 4 remains for Berbera airport. i'm not a Kulmiye fan balse they've exceeded themselves here. excellent stuff. for those of y'all expressing all sorts of wax-la-yidh speculative comments, isku xishooda. y'all clearly have no idea what y'all are talking about. cheers, Al.

few more updates, y'all. it's been a few busy weeks. 1. the name is officially Xikmad Maal Public Library and Community Resource Centre. the name was inspired by one of my friends who's a Chief Caqil. he said.....''your intentions are clearly to help your people by providing a centre for their betterment. in other words, you're providing a platform for them to access a wisdom of sorts (Xikmad) and they should try to use this opportunity fully, you know...... as in milking cows (Maal). true story walahi. 2. i've been looking for a home for the centre for the best part of a month now. this has been getting increasingly more difficult. there are several reasons. chief among these; is the lack of suitable properties. similarly, the few nice premises i've found are expensive ($400) and requires a deposit of 3 months rents ($1600). this is not possible due to budget constraints. what's more, i've been thinking a lot of placing the centre in the most strategic area, you know like the centre of city, so as to increase accessibility and more importantly, perhaps, to avoid excessive allegations of tribalism and stuff ( i should have just located it Berbera, maha..). and finally, it's the peak of the Qurbo-Joog season and the majority of premises are rented to these people. so cala kuli xaal, i'm still without a home for the centre. . 3. i've been sending around lots of speculative emails. some were ignored and some replied to. one of my american friends has put me in touch with an ex-colleague of mine, who's currently holding 2,600+ books and who has similar ideas of establishing a centre, albeit 'an academic research centre'. i've made contact with him and he seems eager to work together. i'm hopeful of collaborating with him. awesome guy but a little too bureaucratic, detail orienated and looking towards the dawarsi of the deeqbishyasha calamiga ah....for my liking. we've had one meeting so far and he thinks, i'm apparently ''too eager to establish''. can y'all believe that? 4. i've put in a formal bid for one of the various private sector development schemes currently driving the city mad. my friend, who has ''insider knowledge'' of proceedings and who works as a consultant for one of the funders, reckons i have an excellent chance because the idea hasnt been thought off . he's been helping a lot with the paperwork. i'm very hopeful balse, i can't rely on these sorts of unicorn-type mashruucs. we'll see anyway. 5. tomorrow, the Hargeisa International book fair starts. i've made brief contact with the organisers and audaciously asked them to donate all the books from this year's fair. we'll see. project timescale April - May - June - July - August - September - October - November - December - January - February=DEADLINE

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL@Nuunka abti, Djibouti baad ka hadleysa but my influence ila Mozambique bey gadhey, ma garatay? ;) i'm now personally known to at least 15 SOLers either via the social networks or in 'real life'. I was just recently chilling with Saffz in the nation's capital . i think we're also facebook friends, maha? i've posted my facial pics at least 7 times in 6 years or something. i talk about real events in my life on the trolls and cantarbaqash thread without limit. i'm not new to self-qarxis and doing little exposes about my person, ma garatay? what i don't appreciate, however, is some white middle aged man pretending to be a somali atheist or a white female research student and her nuanced tirades about woman's empowerment. or even worse someone like Maddeday, whose been employed as a jajuus-judus, by secretive organisations trying to extract information from people. in his particular case, using open-ended questions to solicit a ''reaction'' but NO one is impressed. i've previously controlled about 6 scripts...........although, it's been alleged some of my scripts are still active on these boards which i deny. balse, at least they were real and authentic, you know. p i wasn't a fake nor was i monitoring, despite the various conflicted personalities that seemingly operated within the inner sections of my humanity.

this site is being monitored by jajuus-juduses and secret agents. i don't feel safe anymore. i share every aspect of my life on this site but i'm worried by the extensive monitoring. what measures are being taken to ensure our anonymity is protected and safeguarded against those with a sick voyeuristic mindset and below the gutter sort of depravity? please account for this ADMINooow and the MODooow. cheers, Al.

i witnessed the strangest thing earlier this afternoon, y'all. a turkish man and his young son were driving in a red Toyota Yaris on the main road near the shabac area. then suddenly this crazy woman appeared out of no where, bringing the car to a complete halt. from the angle i saw proceedings, she stood before the car and purportedly threatened, to smash the windscreen of the car unless they paid up. the turkish man and his son were shocked but also amused, clearly sensing the woman was crazy. after some words were exchanged, the crazy woman moved closer towards the driver. then i intervened and told her to leave them alone. she insulted me and i swore and called her crazy. the turkish man and his son drove to safety, luckily. she then came towards my direction and i was scared, you know. i ran off before i could be hit with the massive rock she was holding. :p i was proud of my heroic act of public order balse i felt very sad for the crazy woman, maha?. what possessed her to resort to such provocative acts of sabotage? why doesn't anyone care about crazy people? how do we know they are crazy? what is crazy?
