  1. Edson is from Puntland. Even though all the MPs from Puntland are and will be on Shariif's side (taking revenge against Nuur Cadde) but he seems to have secured few votes in the first round just to show he is competing.
  2. SOL will make the projection soon. Give us good data boys and girls.
  3. ^^Juje, don't scare people. Don't tell me Nuur Cadde is upto something.
  4. It is always helpful if Puntland is on your side of the political divide regardless of what post is given to what clan constituency. It is an important Somali region and any Somali president should first view it in that manner as opposed to a "clan".
  5. lool@Lazie. It is possible Ducaysane is being a trouble maker as usual. hehehe. The Prime Minister can't be falling sleep at this historic moment. Lazie, what happened to your quick updates? What is happening now?
  6. I am off to grab a cup of tea. Will be back in approximately 37 seconds.
  7. Nomads who are watching this live, kindly update us with little text scripts if you can. Share the excitement with the nomads who can't watch this live. What are they saying? who is talking? where is the process at now? Drop few lines every now and then.
  8. To hear Abdiweli Ali Taar tell it, the pirates’ days of hijacking and plunder off the Somali coast are coming to an end. Early in the new year, vows the former Toronto cab driver and Le Château sales clerk, he will lead his men into battle. And the world’s media, should they choose to ignore the obvious risks, are welcome to bear witness. “We are going to where the pirates are holding the ships. I’m going to attack them,” Taar says via a crackling cellphone connection. The Puntland Coast Guard—or as they are known for business purposes, the SomCan (short for Somali-Canadian) Coast Guard—will face long odds. Taar’s armada consists of one armed 30-m patrol vessel and three rusting hulks with anti-aircraft guns mounted on the decks, captured from his adversaries in a previous skirmish. He has 210 militiamen in his employ. The pirate gangs—10 at last count—are said to have as many as 1,000. And then there is the question of motivation. The ransom demand for the Saudi supertanker Sirius Star, one of close to two dozen vessels currently being held off the coast, is US$25 million. The asking price for the MV Faina, a Ukrainian ship laden with Russian tanks, ammo and rocket-propelled grenades, is a cool $20 million. Taar’s men earn $400 a month. More
  9. What is Faroole's exact quote in the audio? I am sure the text article posted by the thread owner doesn't contain anything even close. Did he say "we will go where Somaliland went" as it relates to this process (Boycott and don't work with the goverment) or did he talk about declaring "independece"? Someone please summarize for those of us who didn't listen to the audio.
  10. That is the reason he will never be elected there. But atleast he didn't choose "Shuun" which is another feminine name. But if Waraabe is elected (highly unlikely) and he succeeds in changing the State name, I am sure SSC area will call itself Somaliland Province and steal the thunder just to tease Waraabe for fun. Then Waraabe will complain "they stole it from us".
  11. Faroole never said anything like that. Where did you get that information? When did he say it? These kind of topics should not be posted to mislead nomads.
  12. Shariif is the frontrunner in this race. Ironically, a hand that may assist him circuitously is a block vote from “Yeey MPs” who may wish to take advantage of this lucky opportunity to oust Nuur Cadde and Aadan Madoobe. A win for Sheikh Shariif is a defeat for Nuur Cadde automatically because they are from the same sub-clan. Having said that, let us a not disregard the "money factor" in the race which may still pose a threat to Shariif.
  13. Al-Shabaab officials gave first pardon to the captured TFG MPs and the Governor. The TFG members were later transported out of the city and exiled. -- AllPuntland, Dayniile. At least this is "First Strike" similar to the one given to Wardiile a while back. If these individuals are captured again plotting against Al-Shabaab, we can imagine what Al-Shabaab will do to them.
  14. Another LST update from Paradise. This is a development out in the suburb of Mogadishu today. It gives you a glimpse of what Somalis are capable of when their peace is not disturbed.
  15. Watch the video but don't feel bad. Something even better can be attained if there is peace among the Somalis. Mogadishu
  16. Shariif is a good man. Let us see what he brings to the table when he is elected. I hope he makes peace with Al-Shabaab and takes the country towards Islamic Shariah.
  17. Johann Hari[/b] Columnist, London Independent Posted January 4, 200908:53 PM (EST) Illegal Fishing: "At the same time, other European ships have been looting Somalia's seas of their greatest resource: seafood. We have destroyed our own fish-stocks by over-exploitation - and now we have moved on to theirs. More than $300m worth of tuna, shrimp, lobster and other sea-life is being stolen every year by vast trawlers illegally sailing into Somalia's unprotected seas. The local fishermen have suddenly lost their livelihoods, and they are starving. Mohammed Hussein, a fisherman in the town of Marka 100km south of Mogadishu, told Reuters: "If nothing is done, there soon won't be much fish left in our coastal waters." Toxic Waste Dumping: Yes: nuclear waste. As soon as the government was gone, mysterious European ships started appearing off the coast of Somalia, dumping vast barrels into the ocean. The coastal population began to sicken. At first they suffered strange rashes, nausea and malformed babies. Then, after the 2005 tsunami, hundreds of the dumped and leaking barrels washed up on shore. People began to suffer from radiation sickness, and more than 300 died. Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, the UN envoy to Somalia, tells me: "Somebody is dumping nuclear material here. There is also lead, and heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury - you name it." Much of it can be traced back to European hospitals and factories, who seem to be passing it on to the Italian mafia to "dispose" of cheaply. When I asked Ould-Abdallah what European governments were doing about it, he said with a sigh: "Nothing. There has been no clean-up, no compensation, and no prevention." Source: Huffpo

  19. Seems like xaaji xundjuf's words. lol ^^Is Xaaji Xunduf a mole? Meel uu Somaliland ka deganyahay horta ma la soo hubiyey? Ninka Xaaji waa in la baaraa. Far baa ku mudan.
  20. May Allah give his mercy to this man. He chose to walk the walk. This must not go unanswered. Prominent Tigre men in far away places like Addis must be gunned down in retaliation. The ONLF must send a clear message that such cruel act of executing a prisoner will not go unanswered.
  21. Ilaahay ha u naxariisto dadka masaakiinta ah ee ku dhintay dagaalkan. Looking at dead and the bus, it seems AMISOM may have killed most if not all.
