  1. Jiif oo Jaq loool. Innaba caadi ma aha magacani. Islaamihii "jiif oo Jaq" markay maqleen ayay guryahoodii iibiyeen. Subhanalah. This sound like a ponzi scheme similar to the one Maddof orchestrated.
  2. Am I the only nomad who actually thinks these "ministers" have No ministry to run No budget to manage No recognition from abroad No real capacity to do tangible work It is all in name and the hype is driven by the diaspora. Wasiiro waynu iska leenahaye, waxba meesha ma yaallaan Ilaahay hadii laga baqo. Nin wasiir ahaan jiray oo aan mar la sheekaystayna waa igu raacay. Somali politics is indeed very intersting.
  3. Duke, it is accurate Cadaado city stayed semi-independent owing to the early sub-clan conflicts in the area but my point was to lay emphasis on the regional characteristics rather than Galmudug's actual boundaries.

The rest of the names hold no tangible influence to actually yield real political change on the ground. Who is Sheikh Cabdulqadir Cali? The man has militia? That's troubling aint it? He is from Cadaado, Galmudug.

  6. Juje, everyone is back it seems. Cidi kama maqna the whole TFG. I guess the only person left out is Axmed Cabdisalaan.
  7. Originally posted by Juje: as for the selection listen to announcement or read here at least an hour before the announcement Juje, please show up 15 minutes early. That gives us 1 hour and 15 minutes. Waiting ...
  8. Obama is not a rebel. He should have disregarded the “Visit Canada First” tradition and visited Mexico as an alternative. The journey would be seen as “change you can believe in” and all the Mexicans would be screaming “Si Se Puede, Yes We Can” continuously.
  9. A great move indeed. The quicker Amisom boys head home the better chance there is for a lasting peace with the Muqaawamah.
  10. Faadumo Axmed Caalin or Maama Cureeji (as I like to call her because I know her) is now on a book tour in London. Her new book, "saa waxay tiri" is about the literary work of her poet mother Marwo Xaawo Jibriil Maxamed. Next time you are at the halal store, check out this fascinating book.
  11. ZIMBABWE’S President Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace have secretly bought a £4m bolt-hole in the Far East while his country struggles with hyper-inflation, mass unemployment and a cholera epidemic. The Mugabes’ house, in an exclusive residential complex in Hong Kong, was purchased on their behalf by a middleman through a shadowy company whose registered office is in a run-down tenement block. When a reporter and a photographer called at the house last week, they were attacked by the Zimbabwean occupants. The assailants were questioned by the police. The property came to light during a Sunday Times investigation into the Mugabes’ financial interests in Asia, where a web of associates has helped them to spend lavishly on luxuries and stash away millions in bank accounts. In Zimbabwe, meanwhile, inflation has reached 231m%, unemployment stands at 94% and 3,467 people have died in recent months from cholera. According to sources in Zimbabwe and Asia, Grace Mugabe has splashed out £55,500 on marble statues in Vietnam and £8,700 on a handbag in Singapore. She and her husband have enjoyed some of the region’s finest hotels. In Hong Kong, where she has discussed a venture to have Zimbabwean diamonds cut and polished in China, her aides paid one hotel bill with a bag of cash containing £10,500. The Hong Kong house is the first in the Far East to be identified as the Mugabes’. Last Friday two men and a woman objected violently to the arrival of this newspaper’s journalists. The throat of Colin Galloway, a 46-year-old reporter, was gripped and bruised by a man in his thirties who lifted him off his feet. Galloway was later examined under police supervision at hospital. Tim O’Rourke, 45, was grabbed by the neck in his second bruising encounter involving the Mugabes in Hong Kong. Last month Grace Mugabe flew at him with her fists after repeatedly punching another Sunday Times photographer in the face in an incident that attracted worldwide publicity. Hong Kong police said last night that inquiries into a case of alleged common assault on Friday were continuing. The disclosures about the Mugabes’ Far Eastern interests are certain to anger Zimbabweans already outraged by extravagant celebrations laid on for the dictator’s 85th birthday this week. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/articl e5734148.ece
  12. It would be a good pick. Let us wait and see. There are other names being circulated as well.
  13. Hawd Plateau plateau, East Africa Hawd also spelled Haud Hawd is plateau sloping southeastward and spanning the northern Ethiopian-Somali border, southeast of the northern Somalian highlands. It covers an area of about 25,000 square miles (64,750 square km) and slopes from about 4,000 feet (1,220 m) in the northwest to about 1,500 feet (450 m) in the southeast. It is a vast savanna of varying fertility and is a major wet-season grazing area for herds of camels, goats, and sheep kept by the Somali pastoralists. The Hawd Plateau has few permanent wells (except for areas in the west) and is thus mostly uninhabited during the dry season (January to April). Some natural depressions, filled during the rainy season from April to June, provide fresh pasturage for as long as five to six months. Under the Anglo-Ethiopian treaty of 1897, Great Britain ceded the northeastern part of the Hawd Plateau, a traditional Somali grazing area, to Ethiopia. In 1960 the newly independent Somali government refused to acknowledge this transfer, and a major dispute erupted in 1964. Later, Ethiopia decided to continue to allow Somali pastoralists to cross the boundary and use the Hawd Plateau as they had been doing for centuries. In the late 20th century the boundary dispute between Ethiopia and Somalia had not been settled, and Somali nomads continued to move back and forth across the plateau. Source: Brittanica
  14. Che, Shariif Xasan is the former speaker of the TFG Parliament.
  15. The butler feeds are telling us Sheikh Shariif will demand these names be included in the Prime Minister's new cabinet. Foreign Minister Abdishakuur, a close ally of Shariif. Finance Minister Shariif Sheikh Xasan
  16. ^^Now that is kind of scary. This may be a wild pick for the good Shariif.
  17. Juje's information was the most accurate we have been getting here. It is not Juje's fault that the good Shariif keeps changing his mind every few hours. Juje, keep updating us with the butler feeds.
  18. Thanks for the report Juje. Great stuff.
  19. Xiinoow, Deer is great businessman from Bari region who will face no resistance from Puntland diaspora as was the case for Cirro and others. He is regarded as one of the most astute businessmen in that part of Somalia. He wasn't into politics the last time I knew. Deni, I don't know.
  20. It may be the candidate is Said Abdulahi Deer and not "Said Abdulahi Deni" as these guys are reporting. If it is Said Abdulahi Deer, we know his background and he would be a great choice. This "deni" dude is unknown to me unless they got the names misspelled.
  21. Xiinoow, any "hunuu-hunuu" out of Djibouti? Ma juuqlaa oo way isla aamustay? Awoowe, when you receive the "butler feeds", please update the threads for the readers around the world. PS: I am here to report that Cirro's chances may have been hurt by the SOL lobby. No joke in this. The "Young Turks" have worked the phones.
