Breaking News : Qarax Is-miidaamin : Cumar Xashi (AUN)
Libaax-Sankataabte replied to Juje's topic in Politics
Ilaahay ha u naxariisto dhamaantood. The killing on both sides is nonsense and it needs to stop. The smart heads know this is a no win situation for everyone involved. I take this is the most spectacular act ever engineered by Al-Shabaab. It may or many not be a game changer, but it is just astonishing how these boys planned, measured and executed such precise bombing with minimum damage to their own. The important question is, how will the clans of Hiiran take the loss of three important politicians? -
Muslim waitress awarded £3,000 for being made to wear low-cut dress A Muslim waitress has been awarded a £3,000 pay out for sexual harassment after being made to wear a revealing red dress for work. Fata Lemes, 33, quit her job after claiming that the low-cut dress was "disgusting" and made her look like a "prostitute". Miss Lemes, a Bosnian Muslim, had told an employment tribunal that she "might as well have been naked" in the dress. The Central London Employment Tribunal awarded Miss Lemes damages after pointing out that only women – and not male staff – were required to wear the summer uniform at the bar in Mayfair, London. The outfit was described as "brightly coloured, figure hugging garb". The ruling said: "Her perception was that wearing the dress would make her feel as if she was on show, as if she was being presented as one of the attractions which the Rocket Bar was offering its customers. In our view that perception was legitimate and not unreasonable." Miss Lemes began working at the bar in May last year. A week later she was asked to change into the red dress instead of the loose fitting black linen shirt. "It was indecent. If you put this dress on you might as well be naked," she told the tribunal. "Everything finishes in the middle at the chest. It is open at the front and the back. I did not want men looking at my body." source: huffingtonpost.com

Holy crap. That is about the only response I have to this Airbus A380 being developed for Saudi prince al-Waleed bin Talal. Of course, the prince has not officially announced that this will indeed be his new home on the road, but enough news has been pieced together to link him to the purchase. Not only is this the first Airbus A380 sold to a private owner, it is the most expensive private plane ever put together. For comparison - one of the most popular large private planes in the world is the Boeing Business Jet, which starts at "just" $42 Million. Seriously, someone obviously sat down with some crayons, and decided to design the most insane, over-the-top plane they could. This thing has it all - starting with the special cylindrical elevator that comes out of the bottom of the plane. His Chauffeurs can then drive his Rolls Royce up the ramp on the rear, and park it in his on-board garage. Relaxation comes from a steam room, Turkish bath, concert hall (with a baby grand piano) or in one of the five private quarters, complete with king size beds. Less fortunate guests will have to spend the night in one of the 20 "normal" first class sleeper suites. When his Royal Highness needs to get some work done, he can take the elevator up to his boardroom and play with the touch screen TV's or the holographic projection system. And finally in the lineup of ludicrous additions - get this - the well being room has a floor made from a giant screen, showing what the plane is flying over. Total price? About $488 Million Dollars. http://www.gadling.c om/2009/06/09/the-ha lf-a-billion-dollar- flying-palace-rolls- royce-not-includ/

Obama Shoe Photo Seen As "Insult" By Some Israelis White House photographer Pete Sousa on Monday snapped a photo of the president while he talked on the phone with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. In the photo, Obama has his feet propped up on a desk inside the Oval Office, and a number of Israeli newscasters last night called the posture insulting, since in many Arab countries, it is considered an insult to show someone the sole of your shoe. While the shoe-sole taboo is not a Jewish custom necessarily, the reaction to the photo is a telling indication of the way some Israeli commenters are adjusting to the new U.S. administration's approach to the Middle East. It was widely reported in the both Israeli and U.S. press after Netanyahu's visit to Washington last month that meetings between the two leaders had been tense, and President Obama's speech in Egypt last week also raised some eyebrows in Israel. An article in Haaretz - which, incidentally, is considered to be one of the more liberal-leaning Israeli dailies - interpreted the photo like this: A photo released by the White House, which shows Obama talking on the phone with Netanyahu on Monday, speaks volumes: The president is seen with his legs up on the table, his face stern and his fist clenched, as though he were dictating to Netanyahu: "Listen up and write 'Palestinian state' a hundred times. That's right, Palestine, with a P." As an enthusiast of Muslim culture, Obama surely knows there is no greater insult in the Middle East than pointing the soles of one's shoes at another person. Indeed, photos of other presidential phone calls depict Obama leaning on his desk, with his feet on the floor. http://www.huffingto npost.com/2009/06/10 /obama-phone-photo-s een-as_n_213693.html

Now Alshabaab are the ones being sloughtered.
Libaax-Sankataabte replied to MoonLight1's topic in Politics
It seems the first picture shows few al-shabaab guys sitting on top of an armored vehicle surrounded by guards right before they were beheaded. Killing war prisoners is just nasty. One should see no honor whatsoever in that process regardless of circumstances. -

Wabxo is important to Al-Shabaab/XI because it has an airstrip. -
Sustaining injury at the battle front would most certainly bolster Awey’s claim to jihadist perpetuity and further solidifying his status within the ranks of the resistance movement. Not what Sheikh Shariif should be looking for!!!

Google Wave is a new model for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year. Here's a preview of just some of the aspects of this new tool. What is a wave? A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when. A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time. Concurrency control technology lets all people on a wave edit rich media at the same time. Server-based models provide contextual suggestions and spelling correction. Embed waves in other sites or add live social gadgets, thanks to Google Wave APIs.

I think it is amazing that the mayor is making appeals for development. I don't mind helping out any project to rebuild the city of my birth. -
I like it. He has abandoned the traditional "somali daahyo look" and went for something more contemprary. Good stuff.

lool@ Yeey fueling the insurgency. On a lighter note, Yeey was spotted again. According to our investigative journalist Nuune ( ), Yeey was given another red carpet treatment by the Yeminis few days ago. The old man was seen enjoying the Yemeni Independence festivities at a front row seat which is usually reserved for important figures. (check 0.54 seconds from start) Life is good for the old man. I don't think anyone expects him to come back to Al-Shabaab mortars.
