  1. Krauthammer: 'Don't Underestimate Obama' It’s not too often that we say this, but you should really read Charles Krauthammer’s Friday column. The conservative columnist has a warning for Republicans: “Don’t underestimate Barack Obama.” The net effect of health-care reform, financial-regulation reform, and the stimulus is a “structural alteration of the U.S. budget” that will eventually “require massive tax increases” (because, Krauthammer says, “there just isn’t enough to cut” if you take Medicare and Medicaid off the table, as Obama has). He then compares Obama to Reagan—“highly ideological, grandly ambitious and often underappreciated by their own side.” He says that Obama’s accomplished everything that he needs to for his first term, and that the next things on his agenda—energy, education, and immigration—will not be tackled until 2012. For that reason, “For Obama, 2010 matters little. If Democrats lose control of one or both houses, Obama will probably have an easier time in 2012, just as Bill Clinton used Newt Gingrich and the Republicans as the foil for his 1996 reelection campaign.” Read it at The Washington Post Source: daily beast
  2. Here goes Fifa with its useless ranking again. France drops to 21st (expected). Overall, except the first few, this list makes little sense.
  3. Innaa lilaah. This is tragic and indefensible. I pray to Allah that it is not Al-Shabaab or a Somali who committed this terror. Subhanalah.

Well done to Muller again. I am glad he won both prizes. MMA, Muller did very well in the tournament. He got his "Golden Boot" award. Hopefully he will not turn into a club failure just like his mentors Klose and Padolski. I would have been happy had Fifa gave the "best young player" award to Andre Ayew, the prodigious left-footed midfielder who was short-listed for that award. He is younger than Muller as well.

  7. lol@Che. Considering all the problems Spain is going through at the moment, Spain needed this win more than Holland. I believe this final was one of the least exciting I have seen in many years. It is shameful because South Africa 2010 was a great tournament. The Dutch showed up to play some football and they did. The Spain we saw looking dominant against Germany was nowhere to be seen except few occasional brilliant balls. Holland had as many chances on goal as Spain did if not better. In the end, justice was served as the better team on paper won this match. The Dutch team played their hearts out, but it was one defensive slip-up of keeping Iniesta in play that cost them dearly. The Dutch had their chances, but this is football. Iniesta is one of the greatest players I have ever seen. It couldn't have happened to a better player. PS: The game Referee was one trigger-happy chap. He has completely ruined the game for both teams. I am convinced English newspapers will not grace him with kind words come tomorrow.
  8. Balotelli was born to Ghanaian immigrants Thomas and Rose Barwuah in the Italian city of Palermo. The family moved to Bagnolo Mella in the province of Brescia, Lombardy shortly after Balotelli was born. In 1993, at the age of three, the Barwuah family agreed to entrust Mario to the Balotelli family, with the legal move successively formalized by the Court of Brescia.[6] Balotelli later accused his biological parents of "glory hunting", stating that they only wanted him back when he became famous.[7] They lived in Concesio, a town and comune in Brescia. According to Law 91 of 5 February 1992,[8] Balotelli had to wait until his 18th birthday in order to request Italian citizenship, as his adoption was never made definitive, which he officially gained on 13 August 2008.[9] Source: wiki
  9. Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed they are still interested in convincing Mario Balotelli to play for the Black Stars. Balotelli, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Italy, only gained Italian citizenship in 2008 despite spending his entire life in the country. Balotelli, 19, has always stressed his determination to play for Italy at senior level, but Nyantakyi has revealed Ghana remain keen on the player. "Even though Balotelli has in the past snubbed us, we still think that anytime we are able to get him he will help," he told Joy FM. "Two days ago, in my discussions with the coach, we still discussed Balotelli and other players young players like (Lenny) Sowah, Adam Kwarasey in Norway and many others. "We will pursue to strengthen our team and make our team the best in the world." Balotelli, though, has stressed again that he wants to play for Italy and has hailed new coach Cesare Prandelli. "His teams always played well and I like the fact he keeps a special eye on youth. I know well that my call-up is not to be taken for granted, as I must earn it day after day," he told Corriere dello Sport. "I feel ready for the Nazionale. I hope to be called soon, but as I was not in the World Cup squad, I'll have to earn it." He added: " I hoped Italy could win the World Cup again. Clearly I would've been happy to take part and will carry that regret with me for a long time, even if I will play in other World Cup tournaments in future. "I am happy that the general public called for me to be included, but at the same time it's a huge responsibility, because I know every time a game doesn't go well I will be at the centre of controversy. "It would be fantastic to play alongside Antonio Cassano for Italy!"

  13. Germany struggled to win that game. Little Uruguay gave them a run for their money. Forlan came so close.

Something tells me you are Ozil/Khadeira generation. Maxaad waqtiga nooga dhuminaysaa Sheekh. I mean anyone who knows a thing or two about football would tell you that German style of the game is not the most admired among the great footballing nations (Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Netherlands, France, etc). Germany was never known for "flair" or "highly technical" games. Theirs was always a display of boring and physical game (long passes, air balls, kick-it-to-the-box, set-pieces, etc). Nothing to really enjoy. Don't get me wrong, results do matter, and the Germans are efficient. But let us not start discussing style because Germany doesn't get plenty of fans on that department.
  15. Libaax likewise passionately hates them as much as I like them. Perhaps hadda kahor iska dhiibay Jarmalka and sharci ayee u diideen u maleynaa mise Frankfurt laga soo celiye once. Perhaps his BMW isn't working fine and he is blaming the Germans. Libaax, spill it nooh. [big Grin] MMA, awoowe my dislike for the German team is historic. It is mainly based on this 1982 unjustifiable brutality by the German goalkeeper Schumacher on France's Battison. I was too young to watch that savagery live but it is the first professional foul that I have seen on video back in Somalia. As a young kid I fell in love with French football and the magic of Platini or ("Diiqii reer France") as all my footballing uncles used to call him back home. It was an intentional foul and one of the darkest stories of the beautiful game. Watch how Schumacher intentionally goes after the man instead of the ball. The guy didn't even get a yellow card. Since after watching that video, I have started cheering against the Germans no matter who they are playing against.
  16. It seems Al-Shabaab is exploring new ways to play to Western audience.
  17. Lily, get some sleep. Maxaa saacadaan ku soo jeediyey.

Libaax asagu qolada reeso ayuu kolba la jiraa, hada Spain aan waligii laga maqal ayuu la dhoola cadeenayaa [/QB] Ar Nuune ma nooshahay. Jecliyaa jabka jarmalka. Sidaan ugu raaxeeystay leeh. 19. Too bad Paul only cares about predicting German games. Hopefully he will change his mind.

MMA, you forgot penalty kicks don't guarantee a goal. Spain could have scored more than one goal if they took their chances. They outplayed Germany today let us be gracious and give it to the Spaniards. This was a deserved win awoowe. It was not one of those silly games.
  21. I told you Germany would not reach anywhere. What a bunch of loooooosers. They were outplayed, outclassed and pretty much humiliated by a much better team.
