  1. Salaams Ibti. Grace us with few pictures of the countryside, will ya?
  2. If I am not mistaken the author is a member of SOL. This is a nonsensical article from a man who lacks basic understanding of the Somali problem. It has all the hallmarks of a "waxa-la-yidhi" classic.
  3. Talking about British tabloids, this one closed shop today after 168 years of sensational news.
  4. Xiin waa shaydaan. He couldn't let this news slip without Oodwayne hearing about it. :D Waryaa Oodwayne, Mujaahid maxaa Faroole Somaliland daba dhigay horta waa su'aale? Dhuuntii buu u galay Somaliland beryahan oo meel walbood is tiraahdaan shaah ku caba isagaa idiinka horeeya oo leh anigana coffee ii keena. Horta odaygu yaa yiri Somaliland dagaal inuu la galo ma doonayo? Sow isagan dagaal diplomaasiyeed gawda madaxa Siilaanyo uga haya har iyo habeen. Waar Iimaamka raali ahow dhaha ha idin daayee, oo delegation u dira Garoowe. Dagaalka qoriga kanaaba ka darane bal iska ilaaliya seefta Iimaam Faroole.
  5. Xiinoow, awoowe we are indeed navigating through a fickle political landscape. Soomaalidii waakaa hadba jiho aan la eeginba u yaacaysa sidii shimbir gawracan.
  6. New York Times OP-ART Like It or Unfriend It By TEDDY WAYNE, MIKE SACKS and THOMAS NG
  7. The guy memorized few lines and kept repeating them like a robot. Is he brain dead? This is quite odd to say the least.

It is a great step to fight corruption. There is a tremendous amount of donor money stolen through a broken system with too many loopholes.
  9. My good friend Xiin, here is what I would tell the PM if he called LST's office today. 1. Focus on setting a positive tone for the country. Time is very short, but take useful baby steps to enhance unity among clans and rebuild governmental institutions (nation-building). Not much can be completed in one year, but "sacrifice the trivial many for the vital few" and take the steps that will have the biggest impact on the psyche of the nation (clan unity, rebuild institutions) 2. Use the previous team including your old boss Farmajo in some capacity to help the new team (farmajo in diplomatic office somewhere outside would be suitable.) 3. Since you have no choice on the 50-50 cabinet deal, include the most competent of Sakiin’s camp in the cabinet (preferably Juriile, the smartest Somali MP alive today) and fight corruption even if you have to micromanage the most vulnerable ministries. 4. Convince President Shariif to visit Puntland in order to set a positive tone for national unity and reconciliation. I am positive he will be well received. 5. At the very least, maintain earlier gains on security and pay the salaries of civil servants and the men keeping the peace. This can only be done if internal corruption is minimized and donor money is directed to where it belongs. Salaama.
  10. Prophetic indeed. This is a timeless piece. It is a momentous verdict on the persona of a man (Sakiin) with an index beyond the realm of any gauge system used to size up crookedness. The nation as a whole is still reeling with the ills of Sakiin’s endless endeavors. He is the energizer bunny who keeps screwing everyone but himself. I wish Sakiin could read the PM's words and reflect on them.
  11. It is a gaffe. The president should never loose his cool and resort to innappropriate language. But in a democratic system where MPs can queastion the leader in a heated debate, this slip of the tongue is miniscule in the grand scheme of things.
  12. This is a silly nonsense. Not true at all. Based on all the information I have, Abdiweli is well liked by every political group including Puntland admin.
  13. They ask each other, where were you on that day? :D Crazy fans. : D
  14. His hands are tied on this one. Sakiin didn't get rid of Farmaajo to let the new guy run the show alone. We shall see.
  15. Something seems slightly erroneous about the dates posted. Maybe he graduated from Uni at a relatively young age which is quite possible.

But as good gesture and good faith, bring him back to the fold -- you would have his supporters on your corner as well. Baashi, I am not clear as to why Farmajo would be interested in such post, but I presume each individual has a preference. If I were Farmaajo, I would just move on and let the new team have their space. As for radical “accomplishments” under the new team, I just think it is a mute exercise to anticipate tangible deliverables from an expanded cabinet at such a short period. Abdiweli is a good man, but under the Kampala accord there is just not enough political capital under his belt to alter the political reality back home. We shall see.
  17. lol@Norf. Awoowe, horta UAE roob ma ka da'aa? I heard it rains over there once in every 10 years or something close.
  18. Dhallinyaro, Farmaajo hala daayo, oo yaan la caayin. Waa nin wanaagsan oo aan ceeb lahayn. Waryaa Oodwayne, Mujaahid, good to see you swinging strong again. In lagu xiniinyo siibay oo Mujaahidkii weynaa is dhiibay ayaan aniguna moodayey oo NGONGE iyo kuwo baas ayaa been ii sheegay. Illeeyn weli waad noolayd? Waar bal warka soo daa Mujaahid. :D
  19. Wiilkii Shariifka ma guursaday? Awoowe waan kuu ducaynay ee kii khayr qaba guurkaaga Ilaahay ha ka dhigo. Bal dikri yar iga qabo adigoo mahadsan. Congrats for being the most civil nomad in this forum. Hopefully you will win the 2011 award outright even tough the year is not over yet.
  20. Talking about travel, I am sick of it now. I have had enough. I captured this yesterday with my iphone while travelling across the prairies. I thought it was cool. The shot would have come out better with my SLR but I didn't bother to stop.
  21. I was getting tired of chrome and firefox, so I test drove IE9. The new explorer 9 looks cool. I am keeping it for now. The baby seems fast on my unit. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/internet-explorer/products/ie/home
