  1. Great topic Baashi, I have been using Boxee, which is a fork of the old XBMC, for almost eight months now. Too bad Boxee just announced they want to concentrate on their Boxee box which sells for 200 bucks. Apple TV, GoogleTV and Plex are all inferior to Boxee's slick interface. Even roku is just not as "functional" as Boxee. The only only irritating thing about Boxee is its recent drop of Netflix, Pandora from its final version due to licencing issues. But that is not a problem for me as there is a redundancy in my household because we have Samsung SmartTV which comes bundled with all the necessary apps including Netflix. Boxee has some deep repositories which I think is second to none. I don't know of anyone in my circle who uses the traditional cable anymore. Even my three year old knows how to turn on our Acer Revo 100 by herself and can easily source switch back and forth to the Samsung SmartTV and select Netflix. She was just watching Curous George tonight on Netflix. The future of TV is connected devices my friend. Download boxee here. Create an account and download the software. Buying the Boxee Box is unnecessary if you already have HTPC. Buying the box may become necessary in the future now that the developers said they won't support the downloadable version anymore. Let me know if you need repositories.
  2. ^^ :D. I see you got moles already placed right in the heart of Khaatumo. I knew you were busy with something more sinister.
  3. I listened to the audio carefully and It seems the boo'ing was initiated when the Garaad brought up the issue of Laascaanood and Somaliland's control of the city. There is confusion as to what has happened. Maybe folks were boo'ing the guy who interrupted the Garaad and telling him to sit down. It is also possible other Somaliland supporters joined in the fray. I wouldn't put too much weight on the characterization that pro-Puntland opinion was boo'ed. One of the organizers of the conference Buraale (G6) made it very clear that diverse opinion is welcome and should be respected. EDIT: Further investigation reveals the so-called "boo'ing", if it ever occured, may have been the work of a lone ranger. Laba Isim oo ka hadlay xoraynta Laascaanood oo la aflagaadeeyay (Cod) Garaad Abshir Saalax oo aan soo hadal qaadin in xiligan dawlad la dhiso balse carabka ku adkeeyay in loo baahan yahay dhulka la haysto la xoreeyo oo cadwga laga kiciyo ayaa waxaa buuq ku furay nin lagu magacaabo Cali Maraykan oo ay iksu reer yihiin Cali Khaliif Galaydh balse uu gaashaanka u daruuray garaadku. - taleex.net
  4. Diverse opinion should be appreciated. I don't agree with the notion that a sitting Garaad of a community should be boo'ed for his opinion by participants of a forum intended to bring people together. Disagreement should be articulated politely.
  5. Good move. Oodwayne, are you back from Hawd? NGONGE told me you were in Shiimaale.

Is the lady in question by any chance the same lady at the forefront of some of the Taleex photos? Trendy-attired, tall, curvy and light-skinned? If so, she is indeed a beauty, Masha'Allah. She got my attention by appealing for more involvement for haweenka. ^Haha. Gottya lady!! You thought you could hide. :)
  7. The Garaad of SOL has spoken. Baashi, your analysis is spot on. Galaydh is eyeing for a haggling platform despite his acrimonious repute among the SSC community. The two Alis (Ali Galaydh and Ali Isse) of the G-6 who can easily be described as men traditionally not favored by the mainstream of the SSC clan are now given a bigger podium than they would normally have received among the populace. It is the Khaatumo spirit I guess. The aim here is to forge a new beginning for the community and perhaps remove all remaining obstacles to clan unity. That would be a tall order for any clan but I am confident the SSC community will succeed in the end. It is time to put all differences aside and work towards the unity of the SSC community. The outcome will be great for Somalia. Insha Allah kheyr.

  10. Xaaji haduuba ka daray mar haduu Abdiweli oo Xamar jooga caydaa intaa le'eg madaxa uga tuuray. Toloow maxuu Cabdiweli ku nacay? Garoowe iyo halkaa baan ka filayey inuu cayda ku daldalee, maxaa Cabdiweli oo TFG-da jooga keenay inuu daba dhigto? Waar Xaaji waa ku sidee? Maxaa khaldan Mujaahid? Mise waxa lagugu eedaynayo waa run oo nin sahlan ma tihid?
  11. Awoowe NGONGE waa troublemaker. Meeshii laga hadlayaba inuu rabshad ka riduu jecelyahay awoowe. Abtigiis, I am a bid worried by the "goverment will make unity attractive" clause. Is the ONLF going to draw a line in the sand as to what would be a permissible tactic to make "unity attractive"?
  12. 10 years is a bid too long don't you think? Is 5 year timeline part of the conversation?
  13. Cheer up boys. This was a temporary light show or "carwo" at outside walls. It if was held here at my mosque walls, I would definetly take my kid to see it. 17. Memory Boosting Pill, Which Suppresses PKR Molecule, Could Be Coming Soon Imagine the horror of a failing memory: you can't remember your children's names, where you live, or what year it is. But what if a pill could instantly restore your memory? While the idea may seem like something out of science fiction, new research out of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, suggests it could soon be a reality, the Vancouver Sun reported. The study, led by neuroscientist Mauro Costa-Mattioli, discovered that suppressing a molecule called PKR in mice brains improved the rodents memory function. According to the Vancouver Sun, Costa-Mattioli said that when PKR is "genetically surpressed" in the mice, the immune molecule known as gamma interferon increases communication between neurons, improving memory and brain function. Costa-Mattioli described the memory tests the mice were given in an article published by ScienceDaily: "For instance, when the authors assessed spatial memory (the memory for people, places and events) through a test in which mice use visual cues for finding a hidden platform in a circular pool, they found that normal mice had to repeat the task multiple times over many days in order to remember the platform's location. By contrast, mice lacking PKR learned the task after only one training session." Even more exciting is the team's discovery that the process could be "mimicked" by a PKR inhibitor, essentially creating a "memory-enhancing drug." "It is indeed quite amazing that we can also enhance both memory and brain activity with a drug that specifically targets PKR," Costa-Mattioli said, according to the ScienceDaily report. She added that the next step is translate the improved brain function in mice to humans suffering from memory loss. The discovery comes after a similar break through in July in which scientists found that by lowering levels of a brain chemical called cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) the nerve connections in monkeys' prefrontal cortexes were strengthened, which reverses memory loss. After working with monkeys from three different age groups, researchers found that the brain cells of older monkeys were able to hold signals better and "fire" just like those of younger monkeys. According to TIME, researchers have begun conducting a trial in humans to see if the drug has the same effect. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/19/memory-boosting-drug-pkr-molecule_n_1158330.html
  18. Kim Jong Il of Korea dies at 69 BBC - North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has died at the age of 69, state-run television has announced. Mr Kim, who has led the communist nation since the death of his father in 1994, died on a train while visiting an area outside the capital, the announcement said. He suffered a stroke in 2008 and was absent from public view for months. His designated successor is believed to be his third son, Kim Jong-un, who is thought to be in his late 20s. The BBC's Lucy Williamson in Seoul says Mr Kim's death will cause huge shock waves across North Korea. The announcement came in an emotional statement read out on national television. The announcer, wearing black, said he had died of physical and mental over-work. South Korea says its military has been put on alert following the announcement and its National Security Council is convening for an emergency meeting, Yonhap news agency reports. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16239693
