What a psycho. This lady needs help. She is at it again. I must admit this is hilarious. Kola Boof Says Osama bin Laden Loved Whitney Houston.. Blames Bobby Brown - 2:56 p.m. If you're anything like me, you're thinking, who is Kola Boof? She's a Sudanese writer with six books to her name, the latest being Diary of a Lost Girl: The Autobiography of Kola Boof. Although her story has been told in newspapers for a number of years, it's in that book that she tells of her time as Osama Bin Laden's 'sex slave.' In 1996 she claims she was held against her will at Morocco's Prince Fabrizzio Ruspolli estate and used for his sexually deviant pleasures. A statement that Prince Ruspoli has confirmed, as far as them staying at his estate. La Maison Arabe This woman has an interesting story that should be fleshed out a little more, no time for that now. I haven't even done the digging to comment with a straight face. But by all means, check her official site and this one which has a ton of news links, audio, video and an interview where she describes the first time she met Bin Laden.. "We met in a restaurant in Marrakech. I was there with my date and Osama came in with his men and ordered me over to his table. They escorted my date out of the restaurant and I never saw him again. Osama chatted with me for a few minutes, and then later that night, he came to my hotel room with his men and he raped me very violently. And then a few days after that, his men arrived again at my hotel...only this time to fetch me and my belongings. They took me to the Medina, La Maison Arabe, and I was kept there in the Winston Churchill room for six months. Osama came to the estate off and on, about four out of those six months total. He had sex with me and I accompanied him and his men on hunting expeditions and fishing trips. I got to know a lot of his friends, such as his doctor Ayman al-Zawahiri." Two things I find really crazy: a Moroccan estate that has a room named after Winston Churchill and this 'rape' which included fishing trips and what have you. Maybe she got the special treatment. Considering she said Osama's feeling about black women was, "African women are only good for a man's lower pleasures. What need do you have for wombs?" Guess that didn't include Boof [entirely].. or Whitney Houston. Harper's Magazine printed an excerpt from her book where she says that Osama was crazy in love with Whitney Houston. "He said that he had a paramount desire for [Houston] and although he claimed music was evil, he spoke of someday spending vast amounts of money to go to America and try to arrange a meeting." Whitney's $100 million Arista contract? She could keep that for pocket change. Osama wanted to make her one of his wives, "He said he wanted to give her a mansion that he owned in a suburb of Khartoum. He explained to me that to possess Whtney, he would be willing to break his color rule and make her one of his wives." The comedy in this doesn't begin until you hear how he blamed Whitney's downfall on Bobby Brown. Haha. This guy can't get a break. "He would say how beautiful she is, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and by her husband - Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women's husbands killed." The obsession was so deep.. "I would come across photographs of the Star magazine, as well as copies of Playboy. It would come to the point where I was sick of hearing Whitney Houston's name." Wait a minute, is that how an 'unwilling sex slave' thinks.. Jealous of the next chick? http://www.whudat.com/news/pages/806/news_082106_1.php#

^^So they make 2600 before taxes?. Well, let us say they spend 100 dollars for living expenses (Baidoa cost of living) and 100 dollars for "helping qaraabo", the rest of this money is going straight to their savings accounts in qurbaha. 1600 dollars in savings every month is not bad. MMA, these goons are living good. [edit] Shyyt, I forgot the stolen money from each ministry. Doesn't each "wasaarad" have its own budget and allocated money for "waxqabad"? My god, the above mentioned salary is nothing to them. They have bigger things to take care of.

Interesting question Paragon. We regularly get requests from Somali "journalists" interested in sending us "news". We always decline. SOL gets a hundreds of visitors from Mogadishu on a daily basis, but that is small compared to SOL visitors from Hargeisa. It is sad that most SOL nomads who log on from back home don’t post. I guess they are busy enjoying their vacation, and are not in the mood to report their account of events. They become “silent readersâ€. As is evident on the following SOL visitors map, Mogadishu, Hargeisa and Boosaaso are the only cities with a “significant†number of visitors mapped by our tracking software. The dots indicate "significant" number of visitors.

Somalis Now Seek Power Sharing Deal The East African (Nairobi) Fred Oluoch, Special Correspondent August 22, 2006 Nairobi -- A major reorganisation of the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) is expected if the ongoing pursuit of a power-sharing formula succeeds. Sources close to both the TFG and the Islamic Courts Union told The EastAfrican that chances are that the post of the prime minister, currently held by Ali Mohamed Ghedi, could be given to the Islamic Court's chairman, Sheikh Shariff Ahmed, as part of the power-sharing deal. However, other sources argue that although the performance of Mr Ghedi has been wanting, the Islamists might not necessarily go for the post of head of government but ensure adequate representation in the cabinet, local administration or even head the judiciary based on Islamic principles. Having been unable to make its presence felt on the ground for the past two years, TFG is willing to give more room to the Islamists by inviting them to the government that was formed in Kenya in 2004, but this will mean surrendering some of the top positions. However, negotiations that were supposed to resume in Sudan last week between the TFG and the Islamic Courts under the auspices of the Arab League had to be suspended to give room for Mr Ghedi to come up with a new Cabinet from which he was expected to pick those to negotiate with the Islamists. With the exit of the warlords who have hampered the operations of the TFG since its formation and ascendency of the Islamists, the TFG led by President Abdullahi Yusuf has no choice but to enter into a power-sharing agreement to remain relevant. The situation has however, split the TFG, with sources intimating that both President Abdullahi and Speaker of the Transitional Parliament, Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden, are for the incorporation of the Islamists into the government, while prime minister Ghedi is not comfortable with the idea. Apparently, the idea of power-sharing is being pushed by Somali intellectuals and businessmen who were previously in the diaspora, but who have since gone back to Mogadishu to try and bring stability to the war-torn nation. Their main strength is that they have the ears of both the Islamists and the TFG, who by and large still remain suspicious of each other. TFG was put in place as a transitional government to pursue peace and reconciliation after 14 years of war, but it has been unable to make its presence felt partly due to lack of the people's mandate. It has since been forced to adapt to changing circumstances, especially after the Islamists kicked out the warlords and gained the monopoly of violence. But of great concern to the TFG is that the Islamists - who took control of Mogadishu on June 5 after a fierce battle with the warlords - continue with their territorial expansion which could undermine the authority of TFG, especially if they decide to capture Baidoa. However, sources close to the Islamists last week maintained that the expansion is not fuelled by greed for more territory, but because they are being invited by locals who are weary of fighting and are ready to embrace peace. Notably, most of the terri-tories, except Mogadishu, have been captured without a fight as most of the fighters simply hand over their weapons in a pre-arranged surrender. The same sources revealed that the Islamists have no intention of attacking Baidoa as long as the negotiations between them and TFG is going on and the Ethiopian troops believed to have set camp at the border with Ethiopia do not enter Somalia. However, the situation could change dramatically should the Ethiopians - who have vowed to protect TFG from Islamist attack - openly start war manoeuvres. Another sensitive factor that could compel the Islamists to enter into confrontation, is the idea of foreign intervention. The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (Igad) has been working on a regional peace-keeping force with troops mainly from Uganda and Sudan. The Islamists are fiercely opposed to foreign intervention, maintaining that it will scatter chances of a power-sharing agreement with TFG. http://allafrica.com/stories/200608220038.html

Three months ago the ICU success was an eye opener for all and sundry. Within the span of a very short period, the world was witnessing the accidental birth of a new faction, more focused and more willing to put a fresh spin on Somali politics. The bitter defeat of the warlords was explicitly ridiculed by the common folks. Almost every Somali in every country was cheering for the ICU to crush the doomed “Anti-terrorism allianceâ€. The ICU marched on while still drunk on its victory … Balcad was first to be captured, Jowhar was next … Booom … reality struck. Somalis were quickly asking one another, war nimankani maxay yihiin? Halkee u socdaan?. What is going to happen to Marka, Afgooye, Baraawe and all the occupied regions in the South. The ICU marched on … Galgaduud falls. Puntland puts on high alert. Cadde Muuse sends troops to central Mudug. Another bloody clan war was all of sudden closer than we thought. Many Somalis were perplexed by the ICU’s adventurous sprint to test the waters in Puntland when there are more pressing issues on their doorsteps. The Immediate locals saw the ICU move as a plot to undermine their stable region and cause a new turmoil. Somaliland was already talking tough against any ICU attempt to destabilize their region. At that same period, Uncle Yeey refused to bow to the shifting sands of political convenience. Yeey rebuffed call for the TFG to join the ICU, and dismissed the group as just another clan militia trying to stir some trouble. The stubborn man became deaf toned on vital issues such as the emergence of this new military powerhouse; the ICU. Rumors flared that the ICU is about to annex Baidoa. Chaos was soon to befall on Yeey’s fragile government. The TFG orders Ethiopian troops in and boy did they enter in droves … more chaos … resignations, cabinet bickering, militia defections, and soon assassinations followed. Yeey's indecision to quickly grab the moment and work with the ICU brought on a new predicament for the TFG. The old man missed the opportunity, albeit in vaguer terms, to rule in peace. Now, my questions are: 1. Without failing to appreciate the ICU’s mission which seems to have marched through few local snares, do you think the TFG, despite its lack of a legitimate base of support, still has the opportunity to unite the Somalis under some sort of a real government banner without a bloodshed? 2. Is the ICU, which at the moment has less clan diversity than the TFG, the only option we have for a government? What are your thoughts on the ICU and TFG three months later? Bal Odayaashu afkaartooda ha dhiibteen.

There are more Somalis living in Toronto than anywhere else in the world outside of Africa and almost all of them are Muslim, Nowadays I think London or Minneapolis would give lovely T.O a run for its money . But London has more "boat" survivors and unregistered Somali folks living the fabulous underground life.

I believe all those folks in western jails waiting for deportations would be more contented with being deported to their motherland. But there is a general understanding among Somalis (Somaliland, Puntland, Mogadishu or wherever) that if a Somali deportee is brought to the country against his/her will, the deporters ought to face the wrath of the local goverment. More Ethiopian troops said in Somalia 20/08/2006 18:49 BAIDOA, Somalia (Reuters) - Residents said they saw more Ethiopian troops heading towards the provincial seat of Somalia’s interim government on Sunday in a move likely to raise tensions with rival Islamists. Eleven trucks with about 300 heavily armed Ethiopian soldiers on board passed through the town of Awdiinle, about 30 km (19 miles) from Baidoa where the interim government is based, residents said. "We have seen Ethiopian troops here in Awdiinle," Adam Abdi said. "They are advancing towards Baidoa. We know these are Ethiopian troops because of their trucks and their uniforms." Since July, witnesses have said Ethiopia has moved thousands of troops across the border to protect President Abdullahi Yusuf’s fragile government against Islamists who have seized Mogadishu and a large swathe of the south. Ethiopia has repeatedly denied it has troops in Somalia. The traditionally Christian country fears a hardline Muslim state on its doorstep and possible Islamist aspirations to claim its southeastern, ethnically Somali region of ******. Addis Ababa has threatened to "crush" the Islamists if they try to expand into Ethiopia or attack Yusuf’s government, which has been dealt a blow with the defection of scores of militiamen in recent days to the Islamists. The rise of the Islamists, who have vowed jihad against troops crossing from Ethiopia, has challenged the authority of Yusuf’s administration, formed in Kenya in 2004 in the 14th attempt at central rule since the 1991 ouster of a dictator. Talks between both sides broke down last month and the issue of foreign troops to assist the government has raised tensions. "NOT AN OCCUPATION FORCE" Kenya’s deputy foreign affairs minister told reporters last week that the first east African troops would soon be deployed to Somalia. Regional military chiefs had met in Nairobi to discuss the plan. The Islamists’ most powerful leader, Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, who is on a U.N. list of al Qaeda associates, condemned this announcement, saying Kenya had "joined Somalia’s enemies." Kenya’s ambassador to Somalia on Sunday rejected this, adding that the decision to deploy troops was made by east Africa regional body IGAD, not Kenya. "We are not (an enemy) ... We are not sending in an occupation force, we are sending a peace force," ambassador Mohamed Affey told Reuters. "I think it is unfortunate because Kenya is the only country that has come to the help of Somalis in the hour of need." In another development, Somalia’s government said it had agreed to work with an Eritrean rebel group, renewing charges that Asmara was supporting the Islamists. "The Eritrean government is playing the dangerous game of becoming a client government (for) forces intending to destabilise the region," Yusuf Mohamed Ismail, Somali envoy to the European Union, said in a joint statement with the Eritrean Liberation Front. Various flights into Mogadishu have fuelled accusations from the government that the Islamists are receiving weapons from Eritrea in preparation for a possible military push against Baidoa. The Islamists and Eritrea both deny that. Diplomats fear that Ethiopia and old foe Eritrea are using Somalia as a proxy battleground to antagonise each other. (Additional reporting by Mohamed Ali Bile in Mogadishu, Jack Kimball and Marie-Louise Gumuchian in Nairobi)

loool@Salamaat kuli aafaat. Castro, I am not shocked by the mere idea that the ICU should find new benefactors. The ICU is the new power in town. With its beast of an army and such loyal hungry-for-a-goverment followers, providing some sort of governance is necessary in order to maintain control and further their agenda. Such mammoth task not only requires unshakable conviction on hand, but it calls for having a breadth of knowledge in fundraising techniques. Ama Iran tag ama Fiji ka dhac, bal wax uun keen dadkan lagu maamulo. In addition, the ICU must, as anyone would, amass military hardware to further neutralize the toothless "President of Baidoa City" incase he tries to stir trouble. lool Forget the Yankees. They have no credibility anymore. Salamaat min kuli aafaat.

Calling Islamic forces “militias†prohibited from Somalia journalists By Aweys Osman Yusuf Shabelle Network Mogadishu 15, August. 06 ( Sh.M.Network) The Union of Islamic Courts has for the first time announced that the media or journalists should stop using the term Islamic “militias†and rather use Islamic Forces in a press conference they held in north Mogadishu. Formation of Islamic security forces The Union of Islamic Courts information official Abdirahman Ali The Union of Islamic Courts information official Abdirahman Ali Mudey pointed out in the press conference that the Islamic courts would form new special security forces whom he said would secure the capita city, adding the forces will be dressed in soldiers’ uniform that will distinct them from ordinary people. Another development Another new Islamic court named Towhid belonging to Jiidle tribe (but goes under the control of the Union of Islamic Courts) has been opened in Mogadishu today. In its opening ceremony, the Court chairman Sheik Ahmed Abdulahi specified the Islamic law would be enforced and old rulings used by cultural elders would be dismissed. Sheik Ahmed stated that every judgment of the Court would be based on the Islamic law, “I am telling you today that the Islamic law is the only approvable ruling for the Muslim community, and Allah is never pleased with another law other than the Islamic lawâ€. Said sheik Ahmed speaking to spectators. Warning for the jounalists The Islamist information official said that the new forces would be on duty pretty soon. Abdirahman warned that calling the Islamist forces “Militias†would be unacceptable. This the first time the Islamic Courts refused their forces to be called “militiasâ€, although their forces are uninformed and are lacking the proper soldier or police training. What punishment the journalist, who uses the word “militias†in regard to the Islamist forces would face, was not pronounced.
