Good job by our concerned Somali Minnesotans. Call the police if you see a suspicious activity. Talk to them and record these bastards if they want to commit a massacre.

I agree with Galbeedi. Almost all other muslims blame Wahabism for today's Islamic extremism. It the sect everyone loves to hate.

(RBC Radio) Mogadishu: A few years ago people in Hargeisa were gobsmacked to learn that the get-rich-quick ( fadhi-ku-dhereg) was a Ponzi scheme dreamt up by people with the intention to get rich quickly but illegally. According to a Somali website a similar scheme could be operating in Puntland under a company called Tiens based in China. Brokers for the company use what the Somali website calls “distribution of shares” to woo investors. According to a woman who is involved in the Tiens scheme in Bosaso, Four Star, another company with similar services and marketing strategies, is operating in Puntland too. Tiens Burco branchUS$25 joining fee is demanded of any new member of the scheme. The second requirement is to buy medicines costing US$ 200 of medicines by Tiens distributed through Tianshi Distribution, which is identified on the paperwork as Tianshi Health Production Company. Tiens is operating in Burao, in northern Somalia where religious leaders and educators have warned people against being ripped off by the company whose business practices are not wholly known. They have called for Somaliland government to investigate Tiens. It is not clear how Tiens set up shop either in Bosaso or Bura’o.

The tales of the Lost Boys of Somalia were a national feel-good story nearly two decades ago. Countless newspapers wrote their profiles and national TV news shows paid close attention to them, too. America's answer to their harrowing plight came to highlight generosity at its best. http://www.cleveland.com/morris/index.ssf/2015/04/the_terrorist_next_door_-_when.html What is this guy talking about?

^ We live in a global village and Arabic names are more dominant due to media (TV, books, etc). Our grandparents were shielded from Arab influence, but things have changed. I agree we should not abandon our traditional names.

^ namrood is trolling senselessly now. He has not made a single substantive counter argument to refute what Safferz wrote. All he keeps telling us is that social sciences are useless. It looks he is new to SOL but he needs to quote paragraphs, point out inconsistencies, make counter claims, etc. That is the tradition of a smart debate on this forum. He has not done that. lol

Was he trying to "cleanse his soul" after that modeling gig? What prompted this young man to go and die fighting for a terrorist group? My condolences to his family. AUN.

@Che -Guevara said: Forget Hiiraale, 50 out of 75 seats went to a tribe, talk about injustice!! Are you serious? Is it Ahmed Madoobe's group that took 50?

How many wells are being digged Mooge? Which company will do the work?

Waiting for American corn and Western sponsorship is not a future. Due to the security situation in Kenya, Somali refugees should give any repatriation offer a careful consideration.

That is great. Thanks for sharing.

Move over Tim Wise, there’s a new white expert on race matters in town. A man who goes by the name W. Honky on YouTube and the moniker Dixon D. White on Facebook has broken down white supremacy and racism till it can’t be broken down any more. White, who says he is a former racist, doesn’t mince words to his fellow white people and wants them to understand they’re the reason why the world is so, for lack of a better phrase, “f--ked up.” “White people are racist. Not all of them, white culture is. Our white country is. Our culture is full of white supremacy that caters to white people,” White said. “It’s about time we stop being lazy ass white people and take some f--king responsibility,” White continued. White, who still admits to being a “redneck,” says that there’s a new “South” and it’s called white racial responsibility. White pleads with white America to basically man and woman up, and take responsibility for their actions. He wants white people to speak out against racism instead of participating in it or turning a blind eye to it. “It’s the inaction that has always destroyed other people. It’s the indifference,” White said. “I hate when people say I don’t see color. If you don’t see color, how the hell are you going to fix it?” White implores white people to think outside of the box. White also talks about white people being afraid of black retribution. “We’re scared of retribution, we got a lot of f--king fear. We’re scared, we always have been,” White said. White even delves into the prison population and cowardly police officers who are also scared of black retribution. And let’s not forget about the fallacy of “reverse racism.” He states it’s false, and that of course black people are angry, but angry about atrocities that white people continue to commit. White urges people to vote and create legislation to fight against the racism that is ingrained in America. He also implores people to never ignore any form of racism. Speak up and act up, is his advice to people. White’s videos should be mandatory viewing for everyone. Of course, I must note the significant contributions made by white scholars to Somali studies. I applaud and commend the amazing work that some of these produced and produce which continues to shape my own intellectual growth (i.e. Catherine Besteman, Lidwien Kapteijns, Peter Little, etc.) Dr. Cawo, I have never read the works of Catherine Besteman, but I will explore it in the future. Thanks for this informative article on the #CadaanStudies controversy. Catherine L. Besteman Francis F. Bartlett and Ruth K. Nin Yaaban, you don't want all Somalilanders to become 'state zombies" do you? A healthy society should have internal and open debate or else our young fledgling republic (Somaliland) risks becoming a North Korea where regular citizens can't eat dinner without the President's permission. lol Saalax has refused to drink Siilaanyo's Cool Aid. I see maturity and level-headedness in much of Saalax's critique about Siilaanyo's government.

It was a big mistake for the president to take side on this sad conflict. I guess the Arab financiers of his Damuljadiid political part was going to cut him off if he didn't show visible support.

lol@siilaanyo doesn't have sons. I thought Hersi was his son.
