You guys are making many assumptions. We don't know what prior arrangement the runner had with anyone. We don't even know if he personally knows the ambassador. We don't know if he was ok with the ambassador being there. He doesn't seem alarmed or embarrassed when the ambassador is speaking next to him. As Maakhiri said, he is a wealthy athlete and probably doesn't care who is there.

I don't about Mo, but I don't think Coldoon cares about whether one is Somalilander or Southerner.

From what I heard, Thabit the young mayor of Mogadishu is planning to sell the land.
-
This is quite clear. Ethiopia is interested in making everyone happy. It wants Berbera and there is little the Somali government can do at this point. Farmaajo is busy in Mogadishu.

Here is a video from opposition website. The Amhara opposition websites are referring to the protestors as Qero (Youth)? Anti-government protests against the brutal Ethiopian regime spreading throughout Ethiopia. This short video clip shows the street fight between the Oromo youth (Qero) and ‘Agazi’ forces (the regime death squads) in the town of Moyale, border of Ethiopia and Kenya. https://ecadforum.com/2017/12/14/ethiopia-oromo-youth-qero-fighting-tplf-on-the-street/

The Dilemma Facing the Jaarso and other Oromonized Somali Tribes
Holac replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
The Jaarso community is confused. Even those in the video would not come out and say "WE ARE 100% SOMALI". All three in Che's video, including the old lady, are ducking the issue. The Jaarsos need to reverse that historic decision of giving away Somali land to the Oromos and adopting the Oromo language. They need to come back to their community if they don't want to be treated like Oromos. Illey probably removed the Jarso's including the hotel owner from Jigjiga for their own safety because an angry mob was running around the city hunting Oromo members. -
I support any effort to remove Oromos from Somali region permanently. Not because I dislike Oromos (they are good people ) but because in the long run, it is good for both communities to have clear separation. We can be brotherly neighbors and do trade as usual. For a long time I was bothered by what I was hearing from family members that Oromo is taking over Somali region and some Somalis have even forgotten their own language and became Oromos.

It is amazing.

I haven't seen helicopters during Farmaajo's Puntland visit. Who owns them? Why are the copters there?

Are they rebelling but at the same time loading the gems? I thought I heard "Muuse ma oga macdantii waa la dhamasytay".

OO, is it true that Ethiopian government is exaggerating GERD Dam's output power? A number of experts believe the dam is not going to produce as much power as is claimed, and that the dam should be smaller in size for efficiency and cost. Asfaw Beyene, a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University (California) says the dam is 300% over-sized. “More than half of the turbines will be rarely used,” he says. “GERD’s available power output, based on the average of river flow throughout the year and the dam height, is about 2,000 megawatts, not 6,000. There is little doubt that the system has been designed for a peak flow rate that only happens during the 2-3 months of the rainy season. Targeting near peak or peak flow rate makes no economic sense.” Beyene notes that that the issue is so highly politicized that “it seems to suppress legitimate engineering inputs and environmental discussions.” He suggests that the concerned authorities should make the project transparent, and resize the hydroelectric power output by reducing the number of turbines. https://www.internationalrivers.org/resources/the-grand-ethiopian-renaissance-dam-fact-sheet-8213

Isn't it fair to say that bringing the Irob (Catholic Saho people) under Ethiopian "Christian" rule was the main thing driving Ethiopia-Eritrea war? Irob is one of the clans of Saho people. Sahos are 90% Muslim and are cushitic people who mainly live in Eritrea. Irob are the only Saho clan that is Christian and Ethiopia wanted to separate them from Eritrea.

Farmaajo shopping in Bosaso.

Did the Africa export thing work out @Instinct.Poet ? One would expect lots of Somali Dulaaliin living in Yiwu apartments waiting for a buyer's phone call from Somalia.

@Old_Observer, can you elaborate what happened and what the end-result was? I am curious.

Galbeedi in his elements!! Good analysis. Trump is a fraudster. He knows how to manipulate the media and he is doing exactly that. Everything controversial he's ever said in the last few months was a distraction.
-
Thanks Galbeedi for this. It is heartbreaking to hear that no single well was built for the people most impacted by Sima in Awdal. If Somaliland can't get its acts together, its time for donor countries to let Farmaajo administer aid distribution. The money for the poor must be distributed fairly and it must not end up in the pockets of corrupt elites.

Peace Action, how does one buy shares of these companies?

To me, this is the best high rise building in Somalia. Am I way off the mark here? Well done Farmaajo for not only visiting Somali cities, but for actually staying, sleeping and shopping. Most Federal officials who visit regional cities are mid-night flight experts. They are gone as soon as they come.

Strong leader but not a dictator. Let us not play loose with the facts.

This is a very bold move.

If that villa is truly his, then Siilaanyo is worse than I thought. He is a narcissist.
