Developing Hobyo as a port is a waste of resources. The money can be better spent on other ventures in the Central region. Mogadishu port can be expanded and it can serve Ethiopia closer if that is the intention. Central region is not developed and doesn't have the resources or population to justify a huge multi-million dollar investment. If a port in the South is meant to serve Ethiopian markets, Mogadishu port is more practical.
