  1. Thank you Tallaabo, Bluelicious (aren't you pretty. ) and ElPunto. I am leaning towards not paying zakat on my 401-K. The way my account is setup, I don't have access to it unless I leave the company. I read that if I don't have access to it, I should defer paying it. If anyone did any research on this topic in the past, I would appreciate your thoughts.
  2. Finally ...... I was able to silence few of my family members. But the hard-earned silent period has expiration date in my family and it is usually 30 days. After that, I am out of luck. It will be back to the same conversation. Thanks for your tips.
  3. Some of the kids who went to fight for Alshabab weren't perfect model citizens before they joined the terrorist group. Many of them were known to chill and hangout the neighborhoods chewing khat.
  4. This is what I call being completely out of touch and confused. Who will take care of him the moment the battle intensifies?
  5. irst, the fragmentation of clans not only challenges prospects for peace and stability in the country, but also provides fertile soil for al-Shabab. That this dynamic has seen a revival with the rolling out of a federal agenda is evidenced by the increasing tribal tensions in southern Somalia. Dominik makes a lot of sense. Well rounded analysis.
  6. Once me and a friend attended a Jumca ceremony and the Imam was wearing a shirt and trouser. My friend did not like it. did the prophet wear the same clothes that our imams are dressed upon when on minbar, praying in the extravagant mosques we have now (In fact the prophet warned about it) …. its a perception we have when something defies the norm that we usually know, it should be wrong, my Advice think about it. I see what you are saying. I don't know about you, but I am ready to wear my new khamiis, cimaamad and barawaan koofiyad this coming EID. :)
  7. Ruby, didn't she backtrack on her anti-vaccination campaign? She mislead many families.
  8. A Florida man who walked in on a man molesting his 11-year-old son will not face any charges for beating him to a bloody pulp, police say. When police arrived at the Daytona Beach home Friday, they found 18-year-old Raymond Frloander motionless on the living room floor. He “had several knots on his face and was bleeding from the mouth,” the police report states. The mugshot (above) shows the man received a pretty good beating. “I just walked in on a grown man molesting …” the upset father told dispatchers before choking up. “And I got him in a bloody puddle for you, officer.” The father said he walked into the house to find his son being sexually assaulted by Frolander. The police asked him if there were any weapons involved in the beatdown and the father replied “my foot and fists”. “I didn’t proceed to ask him any questions, sir,” The father said. “He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you. I drug him out to the living room.” He told police they would need to call an ambulance. The police report states when questioned by police about the beating, the father replied “I’m guilty.” Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said the father was “acting like a dad.” He will not face any charges. Frolander was charged with sexual battery by an adult on a victim under 12 and is being held without bail.
  9. Dr. Osman, you are late to the game. Pictures are already posted in another thread. http://www.somaliaonline.com/community/topic/a-brand-new-modern-mall-opens-in-hargeisa/
  10. This is appalling and criminal to say the least. How can this government appoint a man wanted for war crimes by the Canadian government to lead the Somali National Security agency? I am very very angry.
  11. My heart is heavy for the Malaysian people. How could a country handle two incredible tragedies so close to one another. The Malaysians haven't found the wreckage of the last airplane and Putin blows a Malaysian airplane with 300 passengers out of the sky.
  12. Galbeedi, yes it has all the signs of a systemic genocide.
  13. “The President informed her that Adam, Ganjab and Amalo had worked hard for their money and that they had earned and deserved the commission of six percent,” the report said. “Abrar appealed to the President to reconsider his support for this, but he simply thanked her and asked her to read through the contract,” according to the report. loooooooooool. His close relatives Adam, Ganjab and Amalo worked hard for the 6%?????? This is an unspeakable crime against million of Somalis on the cusp of starvation. I am losing any kind of hope for this country.
  14. loool. Is this even permissible in Islam? How could you eat at daylight? If that is the case, then why do we fast longer hours here in the US?
  15. Excellent. Who is the builder? Is it a foreign company or Somali owned company?
  16. Mr. Osmann, you can love your clan but don't hate other clans.
