What an intersting name, I hope that you are not related to General who took our camels away from the Hawd area of burco? and forced law and order in the Ethipian held territories off of the Burco region by taking the camels of outlaws who then take a refuge in the Ethipian held Hawd. LOL Nur. The interesting name attracted potential suers who claim I have something to do with a Geel-hustling that took place in the Hawdka. It must be your comment that awokened old waranle-yaal. lol I have changed to my old one... Sxb thanks...I shall broadcast your words with a loudspeaker.

Think_tank you wrote: u should not indulge urself in reading their works unless u really want to confuse urself. i cant believe how much time we waste reading , this crap , when we could be reading something more useful for us . Well, my Nomad friend, the problem is you might see fit to discredit what others read as a source of confusion, but the beauty of being independent from each other's opinion is that nin weliba qumanihiisa ayaa qoorta oogu jira. It is really benefitting to have some differing opinions and interests. If that privilege didn't exist, then its predictably a dictatorship of opinion upon others, and we wouldn't like that to happen. Again sxb,to you philosophy may seem 'crap' but to others it may seem a quality reading. The problem is that no one can surely define what 'to waste time' means if the basis for judging emanates from individual differentiation of likings, and as it stands, the act of 'wasting time' itself can vary. Hilter saw cricket as a 'waste' of time and banned it from Germany. On the other hand the English see it as a gentleman's game. So you see my friend, perceived definitions can sometimes fall short to engender a reasonable meaning to what is discussed. And coming back to the topic at hand, if pholosophy was crap, many muslim philosophers wouldn't have 'wasted' their time translating it and later incorperate some elements of it into Muslim philosophy. Instead, their interest in it symbolised how unlikely it is for Greek philosophy to be considered a 'crap' thing to read. Moreover, it is worthwhile to exermine the historicity of Greek philosophy very carefully without dismissing it very easily, because there seem to be alittle mix-up of the historicity of Greek philosophy and opinions that descredit Greek pholosophy as not being a revelation. Ofcource, we cannot compare revelation to a fallible mind's reasoning. Let me give you an example of what a 'mix-up' of historicity and revelation means. Brother/sister think-tank in his/her last comment, for example wrote: "these philosophers were arguibly in search of the truth, and i say wat better way to know the truth than the book that has no doubt in it." Well, what Think-tank doesnt seem to realise is that, some of the philosophers that are being discussed in this topic, all lived possibly before Prophet Mohamed's (PBUH) time and when the Quran was revealed to him. It is true to argue that it was the biblical times, but to dismiss these philosophers' works in the sense that they are full of confussion seems short of accuracy. Whatever it is that is content in these philosophers works, the basic truth is that they employed a God given ability to analyse burning issues of their times. When someone reads their works, it doesn't necessarily suggest that one is agreeing with them, rather it could arise from a need to read extensively and understand one's moral groundings. If we read about the Greek cynics, it gives us a window with which we can see how humanity has the audacity to indulge in filth and moral degredation at its highest point. Anyone whom Allaah has given the ability to recognise the wrong from the right could learn not to go astray and not follow the path of the cynics. The reason behind the question "Were Greek philosophers muslim?" was that in our Holy Qur'an, Allaah has revealed to us that before the ummah of Prophet Mohamed, 124,000 messengers were sent to different civilisations, each speaking the tongue of that civilisation. Of the 124, 000 messengers, only the names of 25 were given in the Qur'an. So chances remain that the Greek had their own Prophet since they were a civilization of its own. Socrates was thought to be a messenger, it could be argued that Plato fabricated most of his thoughts to create an illusion that simmulates some sort of a prophecy. So my dear Nomads, No one is intent to confuse him/herself while in the process of discussing or reading philosophy. This is just a bid to speculate what was, and not what is to become of us.

Hibo...when you change your atitude, how do you change? Do you switch from one atitude to another in fifth gear or you make the change fade in un-noticably and catch a faarax off-guard? But I got your drift....
-
Haniif thank you for the link sxb...it is quite informative.
-
Hibo I know you mean good and for that reason, I thank you. Criticisms only help us see things from a different angle. Laakiin, my question to you is: is it really the intellect that intimidates a man or could it be the atitude with which a girl displays her intellectuality that puts off a man?

Nassim lol. "jamal got tits?" dam boy...where did you get that idea from. NEways- i see this Somali-sheddy joke made you laugh.

If black butter hill wants to liquidate, Into the lake, by melting, assimulate The lake would pray, for brighter sun, That melts and keep, the butter burn However true the butters like to mix The lake would never stop, her tricks. But if butter melts, a rainbow weeps, For the lake enjoys the pain, it reaps. At last if help arrives with the snow then Milky lake shall sink in cold so low My Son,seem weaker in others' eyes But deep inside aim for higher skies If you're low then show a strength If you're strong show no stregnth- Assist though those fortune disowned However right you're, be always wise, If men scoop to lows, do not dispise For Allah knows, which heart is pure, For an innocent child is the only dear.

She gets to marry you. LoL caakifah, are you intent to freak the fella? Well, I am not well-informed religiously, but for as far as I know 'roormada' is said to be Xaaraam, Islamically. Culturally, however, 'roormada' has been a procedural act under-taken by young lovers who feel they may not be able to procure parental permission - due to clan relation or other underlying circumstances - to tie the knot in a culturally legal matrimony. If you were in a situation whereby you are likely not to get the husband you want, will the thought to elope cross your mind? Caakifah
-
Caakifah...I think you're right! -- Teeda kale, people have lists up their sleeves. Aniga I don't. Having a list isn't in my list I have dreams instead. And the one for me, will present herself in those dreams...did presented herself already? Could be. People's lists are content with aspects that they feel somewhat insecure of.

One thing that i can determine about the movie and its semblence to the Somali charactor is first, before anything else, its trailer doesn't work for me...is it me or it has a general glitch, I don't know. Second, never mind... but the poster looks good. I must admit the latter!
-
Flying-still Good point. But considering that I was once in a such predicament, I wouldn't advise a boy of 14 to approach his parents with such a sensitive subject as marriage. 'Waryaa xishoo, wa'axay waxaad ku hadleyso, saqiir baadba tahaye?' and it hurts to hear that... laakiin haduu la rooro gabadha marka hore - which is the traditional procedure - then I think other matters can be negotiated, don't you think? Roorka is a mechanism that propells one deep into the subject of marriage without having to face your parents, embarrassingly.

I am gonna have to come back to this topic later-on. It contains much information that deserve a 'critical' consideration.

Daydreaming Physically-minded people think of themselves as limited but those people who gain increased awareness of the dream state and its language find the opportunities for progression, growth, and expansion of consciousness are limitless. Most people in their day to day life rely heavily on memory stored in the brain. They fail to use the powerful tools of focused attention or effective imagination. Yet, all exceptional and truly successful people in the world have utilized both a concentrated, focused mind and an effective imagination. Most people use less than 10% of their mind power. This is because they rely so much on memory while excluding undivided attention and the effective use of the imager in their conscious mind and daily life. It is also because they have not learned to use the power of their subconscious mind. Dream interpretation is an excellent tool for learning to harness more of your mind power. Everyone has daydreamed at some point in their life. Daydreaming is a product of the conscious mind while night dreaming is a function of the subconscious mind. If you will notice, when daydreaming occurs your mind begins to wander. You release voluntary control of your thoughts. In other words, you are no longer choosing which thoughts you wish to think. Instead, you are allowing your thoughts to go from one similar thought to another following whatever brain pathway that is aligned or near to your last thought. Notice also that daydreaming involves mental pictures or images. Notice how your attention moves from one mental image to another. So you see, mental images are at the root and core of how the mind functions. In order to understand the language of dreams one needs to understand that the communication from the dream state to the conscious mind involves transferring the mental picture-images to words. Next, the words are transferred from your conscious mind to the paper of your dream notebook. The subconscious mind communicates to the conscious mind during sleep because this is when the normally noisy conscious mind is moved aside or shut down thereby the inner Self can come through. When the conscious mind is pushed aside or stilled then the dream can occur. Most people have unfocused minds with scattered thoughts that produce so much noise in the conscious mind that they have a difficult time listening to or hearing messages from the inner Self, the sub-conscious mind. The more you learn to focus the mind through concentration exercises the calmer the mind becomes until you reach a state where your mind is stilled and you have few if any thoughts in the conscious mind. This process creates a state of receptivity in the conscious mind allowing communication coming from the subconscious or inner mind to be received by the conscious mind. Meditation makes the highest use of this stilled conscious mind for it allows you to harmonize the receptive conscious mind with the subconscious mind in order that both may align with the superconscious mind.
