  1. Salaam aleykum This morning i have received the following by email. It saddened so much that i decided to do a little bit of research as to who the author is. As the emails claims, this peice was not written by a white female as the article claims, but rather a black male comedian and radio host from St. Louis. There is grain of truth of what he wrote though. Here is how i received this article: ____________________________________________ The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress. Chris Rock, a Black comedian, even joked that Blacks don't read. Help prove them wrong! Read and pass on. Please Note: For those of you who heard it, this is the article Dee Lee was reading this morning on a New York radio station. For those of you who didn't hear it, this is very deep. This is a heavy piece and a Caucasian, Dee Lee, CFP, Harvard Financial Educators wrote it. Dee Lee THEY ARE STILL OUR SLAVES We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS. Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, "The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book." We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon.com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all. GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%). Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing. They would rather buy some new sneaker than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, And they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them "Status" or that they have achieved their Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities. With the help of BET, and the rest of their black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has e ven jeered them, saying he doesn't want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They'll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them. SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture. A "Talented Tenth" he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some "form" of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn't read that the "Talented Tenth" was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life. Instead, that segment has created another class, a Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance. When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community. They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM) They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own, as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms. Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to re ad, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are "helping" their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don't worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, 'THEY DON'T READ!!!! ---------------------------------

There really is nothing more important to me than striving to be a good human being. So, to be here this morning and be acknowledged and to receive this honor is beyond expression in words for me. The greatest pain in life is to be invisible. I want you to know that this award to me means that I will continue to strive to give back to the world of SOL what it has given to me, so that I might even be more worthy of today's honour. Salaam aleykum Ameen and Kashafa The answer to the question "What was shaytan's name before he disobeyed Allah ?" wasnt Iblees. It was Azaazeel. "The original name of Iblees was Azaazeel. He belongs to a species of Jinn, but lived for long while in Jannat in the company of the angels. There he made continuous ibadat of Allah, and because of the knowledge which Allah had granted him, he became the teacher of the angels. However, he had developed one evil, hidden quality, and that was pride. It was because of this pride that he refused to bow down to Nabi }dam. He argued with Allah, saying: "I am better than him (}dam), for You created me from fire, and You created him from sand." Iblees reasoned falsely that since sand is greater than fire, he was better than Nabi }dam. In reality, sand is superior to fire, because it is an established fact that sand can extinguish fire, while fire is not able to burn sand." http://www.scienceinquran.com/Book/APPENDIX%20%20A.pdf I cant recall the name Kashafa. I remember the story but cant answer your question. Aisha sis do ask your question in the meantime.
  14. Salaam I was listening to an Islamic lecture the other day and surah fatiha was the subject: Revelation - It was revealed in Mecca as stated by ibn Abbas and other. It is also claimed that it was revealed in Madeenah as stated by Abu Hurayrah and others. It is also said that it was revealed on two separate occasions أ¢â‚¬â€œ once in Mecca and once in Madeenah. However the first opinion is the most likely due to His saying. Because of the Verse in the Qurأ¢â‚¬â„¢aan: "We have sent to you the Seven Oft Repeated Verses." [soorah Al-Hijr (15): 87] This verse was revealed in Mecca by agreement. . Soorah Al-Fatihah Revealed only to Prophet Muhammad. [2] Narrated Ibn Abbaas (radiyallahu anhu): “While the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alahi wa-sallam) was sitting with Jibreel (alaihi as-salaam), he heard a creaking sound above him. Jibreel looked up and said, "This is [the sound of] a gate that has been opened in heaven today and has never been previously opened." Then an Angel descended through it and came to the Prophet (sallallahu alahi wa-sallam) and said, "rejoice in the good news of two lights that have been given to you such as no prophet before you has been given. [They are] Surah al-Faatihah and the concluding [two] verses of Soorah al-Baqarah. You will never recite a word from them without being given the blessings they contain." [An-Nisaee and al-Haakim]
  15. Salaam aleykum Nu'man b. Bashir r.a. said that Rasulullah s.a.w said : "What is lawful is clear and what is unlawful is (also) clear. But between the two are doubtful matters of which many people do not know. He who protects himself from doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his faith and honour. But he who falls into doubtful matters is like a shepherd who grazes (his sheep) around a sanctuary, and (liable) to graze therein. Surely, every King has a sanctuary. Surely, the sanctuary of Allah swt is his prohibitions. Surely, in the body is a piece of flesh, and if it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is damaged, the body is deseased. Surely, it is the heart. (Bukhari, Muslim ) I think this is pretty self-explanatory, so true and very beautiful.

Wa aleykum salaam Is this trick question brother? Prophets and messengers in the Quran are 25. However if you want messengers only, pls clarify. In the meantime another question: What was shaytan's name before he disobeyed Allah ?
  17. Ibti..I meant you were describing me to a tee. About a new name..i think we should call non-wadaads "biid"
  18. Salaam to all I have come accross more and more muslims advocating the separation of religion from politics. I think it is poor attempt in reforming Islam. I honestly disagree with this. If you asked someone “what is religion?” in the secular world, people may say that it is the set of beliefs and values which deal with the spiritual and moral aspects of life. In Islam, the word “religion” means way of life, a way of living that includes all aspects of life, be they spiritual, moral, social, economic, and political. The Qur 'an is concerned with morality rather than polity. An upright conduct, justice, truth, benevolence, compassion and human dignity are very basic to the Scripture. It repeatedly asserts these values. The previous 'Ulama were afraid that if religion and politics were separated there would be absolutely no check on the conduct of the rulers. Any rule of law which is contrary to Islam will go unchecked if religion was to seperate from politics. Islam is a complete code of life and its implications are expanded to all walks of life. It is a belief, a tradition, acts of worship, as well as a code of socio-economic and political activities to ensure peace and socio-economic justice for the Muslims. EDIT: I realise that i am not making much of an argument here. I just like to pick your brains. For many years the argument to separate church and state has been hotly debated. In the recent years, I’ve come across more and more examples of religion inter-mingled heavily with some of the world's current political situations. On the other hand, if America or the UK were not secular, Would we be able to practice our faith freely? It is bit of a conundrum for me. I think i wanna have my cake and eat it too. In Islamic countries, I am all for incorporating religion into politics. I would welcome it as i dont believe that Islam will be easily changed as other faiths. Where i worry is when our leaders in the muslim countries devaite from the scriptures and oppress the dhimis if Islamic state is ever to be established. However in non-Islamic countries, incorporating religion with politics would be detrimental for muslims or any other faithfull where their faith isnt the dominant one as other faiths are prone to change.

Ibti..it feels like you are talking about me. My brother and his wife call each other "babes, honey, xabiibi" in front of my parents and sometimes they hug or cuddle. This could be embrassing for others. But to me..there is no way i could say any of that infront my friends/siblings let alone my parents. I feel that this is to do with the issue of modesty, and the issue of keeping ones romance/love/affection behind closed doors. Of course I cant speak for others.
