San Salvador was Tzuriel Refael's first post as ambassador, after promotion in 2006 from a foreign ministry position. The official said that, although diplomats may have caused embarrassment in the past, this was "the last straw". "During the 60 years of the State of Israel, some of our diplomats have caused us embarrassment, as happens in every country," the official said. "But an ambassador behaving indecently on a public thoroughfare, that has never happened before." Israel has been rocked by a recent series of misconduct and corruption scandals, shaking public confidence in the political leadership. Criticism Haaretz website reports that police found Mr Refael in a San Salvador street two weeks ago. He was inebriated, his hands were tied and he was gagged with a rubber ball in his mouth. In spite of his drunken state, the naked figure reportedly identified himself by his full name and job title. In 2006, Israel's diplomatic service was criticised by the public watchdog for its appointments system. I almost ALWAYS pay with cash, particularly at petrol stations, it really annoys me when there are, say, 3 cars having just been filled, and yet it can take fully 10 minutes to serve the three customes as they, first, rummage for their card (did they not know that this was about to happen?), second, insert their card, then wait for an age before it allows the number to be typed in, etc. etc. And then it gets to my turn and I just pass them a £20 note (or whatever it is) and I'm gone within 10 seconds. (The petrol station is also a handy place to empty your pocket of small change – if you have, say, £1:37 in small change, simply put £21:37-worth in the tank and hey presto!)

JB..Sooner or later, they will have to adjust. I dont want to normalise this beahviour for any kids. There are other ways to convey tolerant behaviour to kids. No one is denying their existence but I would hate kids to be taught this. They are exposed to gays in almost every programme on TV. I myself have never met any homosexual till i came to this country. Of course I was disgusted however i realised there is nothing one can do about it but to let it be.

In the news this weekend, I heard that children as young as five are going to be provided with books in primary schools featuring gay characters. The books feature: "a prince who shuns three beautiful princesses before falling in love with a man and living happily ever after; a spacegirl with two mothers; and a baby penguin with two dads." To me, this is just more social engineering than anything else.
