  1. DO we have another apostate in our hands here?
  2. Paragon There is a right and wrong. Again, Common decency should prevail and doing the right thing or encouraging it should be a priority. This is the least we can do from here. Resisting the invaders, I am 100% behind it. Killing the soldiers, I am all for it. But one gotta respect the dead and this is something we should all encourage it. "apologetic and condemning is a phenomenon transfered from the war-on-terror to every other issue." I was looking at things from Islamic point of view. This aint a new phenomena in my opinion. Must we lose all prespective and defend the indefensible?

The people chose the IUC over the warlords, this war is not based on the past 16years, The IUC was not in existence those years. Please, stop the misrepresentation of facts, will Ya? Sxb ICU this and ICU that, those men whether they had cleared the city and did a noble job or not is beyond my point, the fact is that they fought against the government and have lost long ago, most of Somalia is controlled and peacefully run by the gonvernment and no cry is heard from all corners except Mogadishuy, only a part of the capital city and in my own opinion I believe what they oppose and fight against is not the occupation of Ethiopia but the rule of law the government will introduce, evidently so this believe of mine has been reiforced by their latest attemp to befriend with the Ethiopian invaders. Simple as that Can I clarify few things here? Yaanan la is indho tirin here. Give credit where it is due. What Govt is incapable of is bringing the stability the ICU brought. I honestly didnt care of their clan. Most Somalis didnt give a toss. All they wanted was a peacful city. So it really CAN NOT be beyond your point for it is the actual POINT. Another thing you mentioned above is when you said "most of Somalia is controlled and peacefully run by the gonvernment".. I honestly am not surw whether you are misleading people deliberately or not..but If you recall, these parts in somalia you mention was very peaceful before any govt came into existence. For the life of me, I honestly cant see any benefits this puppet of govt brought to Somalis.

  5. Paragon That is their excuse but what about those in daispora who cant think straight and rational? What kind of anger really justifies the barbarity of these actions? I am all for fighting these invaders and their supporters, and I really do appreciate the level of anger and hatred for these invaders, but how can one who is sitting behind his computer with a cup of coffee on a nice cushy seat justify this? Mujaahid: Taking the money from them, I dont see it wrong.
  6. But the prophet(saw) had respect for the dead, regardless of who they were. Burning corpses was forbidden too. I dont know how anyone could defend this.
  7. Is this what we became? Subhaannallah..The barbarity of it all. And we say we hold the Haqq in Islam. But we are worse than animals.

  9. Inshallah. Humans do err. May Allah forgive us for all our shortocmings. May Allah also help the somalis living in these awful conditions and give them the strength to fight against these invaders.
  10. How is this helping your cause? Calling people names wont make a jot of difference to these poor suffering Somalis. Therefore it is fruitless unislamic job. Awalba Soomali waa lagu yaqaaney the 'all talk and no action' method. I will tell you what is more productive: Pray for them, give them practical help and do yourself a favour by following the Islamic teaching. It is truly unbecoming of us to talk this way regardless of the attrocities that are happening.
  11. Salaam Aleykum This is promoted by an international American muslim organisation who have actually started to fund this initiative. The project is about womens rights and also enabling women to interpret the Quran to balance the gender aspect which so far have been ignored by our male folks or so they say. The project is about Women's Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equity: You can watch the video on the link that says: Video Clip of Women's Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equity Launch, New York or Visit google video on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Oj1zqphlA Muslim women rights and Shariah: First Woman Fatwa Council Planned http://www.asmasociety.org/wise/article_islamonline.pdf Muslim feminists in NY want to start Koran council By Manuela Badawy: http://www.asmasociety.org/wise/article_reuters.pdf According to the above article the The leader of the initiative, Daisy Khan, who serves as executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, stressed the importance of the council. "Islam is a religion of law, and it is important to express the principles of social justice within the framework of Islamic law," she said. "This is why we need muftias, in order to do that. Otherwise, it falls on deaf ears" My Comment: I am not too sure of this at all. Are we now going to feminise Islam? I know the majority of translators and scholars were men but at least most have backed up their insertions, interpretation by the Quran and Hadith. It is mentioned in the WISE report ( http://www.asmasociety.org/wise/index2.html ) that strict sharia law was not divine because it was created by men and should be changed to incorporate women’s rights. They think this is the essence of muslim womens rights and hence need Women Legislators/Law makers who have the expertise and Islamic background to interpret the Quran just like the men. What do you think?
  12. Must you guys stoop so low? It is possible to have differnce of opinion without sprouting filth at each other or about other people. Not a way a muslim should act at all.

  17. Salaam Ghazali, he is a master of the written word and writes in emotional, spiritual, fluent, writing style with his imagination using the Quran and Sunnah to put you on the spot. If you are serious about Ihsaan and gnosis (knowledge of Allah watching you) then buy that book. http://kitaabun.com/shopping3/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=6&products_id=31 The first few pages are very very emotional. He purrs and softens you up with Islam and your Imaan and the fact you are Muslim and it is a gift. Then blasts you to the moon with memories of childhood freinds you may have known, who are now dead and buried in their graves. The worms going through the skulls of the sinners, whilst the one who is safe is surrounded by goodness and light. The tyrant king who has snaked writhing between his ribs (realities of the the punishment of the grave) as we sit and read the book, all these things are real and happening now in the unseen and seen world. Yet here we all are, none of us remember Death. He writes about Umar Bin Abdul Aziz (ra)sermons and how he wept and cut down the congregation by rememberance of death and the realities. The Prophet Salalahu Alayhi wasalaam said in authentic Hadith. "The one who is most intelligent amongst men, is the one who remembers death often, and prepares for it" It is a natural element to be engrossed in this world I think and I think Shaytaan tries to keep our thoughts away from preparation for the next life as much as possible. For me, my biggest fear is that I have put off too much that which I could have done today and that the reality of death is very real and ever present - only Allah swt knows our time and I pray for a long life insha'allah so that I have as much chance to come as close to Allah swt as possible and do all the things I need to do to please him. Every new day we wake up is another chance to come closer to Allah swt and repent our sins insha'allah. its all about prioritising - its too easy to think that a present material need is more important that a future spiritual one, when in reflection it seems absurd to put things in chronological order like this. We do not do this with many other things in our lives - if my child was sick and urgently needed to go to the hospital down the road and at that moment my favourite TV programme came on - I wouldnt sit down on the sofa to watch it - I would be out the door with my child on the way to the hospital! Just because 1 task is present in the moment and material and the other is more spiritual/emotional and requires a time lapse before seeing the results insha'allah - is not a reason to put the 'latter' one off. Things should be prioritised in order of importaance and benefit - and what could be more important or benefical than worshipping Allah swt? Once, I was at home and bored with nothing to do and I thought "oh well might as well go do my prayers now" ( zuhr I think it was) but then I felt bad cos it had only occured to me to pray because I was bored and boredom isn't a reason to pray and so half of me was saying "pray" and the other was saying" but you only thought to pray because you are bored" . But then I realised that boredom is even LESS of a reason NOT to pray and alhamdulillah, of course I did my prayers. Anyway enough of the ramble but what I think I am getting at is how the human mind ( and therefore also with Shaytaan's influence in part) can come up with the most irrational and illogical and down-right ****** reasons to not worship Allah swt - be it through salat, charity, dhirk etc and yet we often fail to realise when we assess ourselves that we would not make such ****** irrational decidions and thought-processes in other areas of our life. So why do we do it for the most important part?? Hence - many of us, if not all of us, should be aware that we may not, cannot, have done enough to worship Allah swt when our time comes - and we should make du'a that we accomplish even half of what we intend before our time is up, ameen. This is Ihsaan. Knowledge of Allah knowing he is watching you, but you cant see him.

If your sorry behind is in it, no amount of God save me will suspend the force of gravity in that 5'X5' spot in the world. Naden, I dont understand your point above. Are you saying Allah is unable to go against gravity? How many times did i hear people survaving against the odds when a building collapsed or people drowned or in a airplane crash? To JB You really should have an understanding of Allah's attributes before discussing issues like this. Before attempting to tackle this, it is necessary to understand the etiquette of Dua. For instance how can one limit Allah's ability in providing for everyone when He is the One created all of it? We should also know that a Dua of a believer is never wasted. If our dua is not granted and we are patient then Allah (SWT) either turns away some evil that was going to inflict us, or Allah (SWT) reserves its rewards for the hereafter. On the day of judgement we see rewards for our Dua's not being answered on earth. See how futile this discussion is JB, when you dont even believe God, Jannah, day of Judgement? Nevertheless, let me continue.. So even if our Dua in not answered in this life we should hope for its rewards in the next. Aisha radhiallaahu anha said, "No believer makes Dua and it is wasted. Either it is granted here in this world or deposited for him in the Hereafter as long as he does not get frustrated." One of the main purposes of Dua is that we have an attentive heart towards Allah (SWT). That we turn to Him and acknowledge His Power. This however requires patience (hadith- You will responded to as long as you are not hasty, meaning that a person says, 'I have prayed and prayed and my prayer has not been answered), purity (hadith- while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing his unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully; how can he be answered) and sincerity (hadith- Make dua to Allah in a state that you are certain that your dua will be responded to, and know that Allah does not respond to a dua that originates from a negligent, inattentive heart). We need to call out to Allah (SWT) with a sincere heart, for verily Allah (SWT) does not accept any Dua made from a neglectful heart. How sincere is our heart? As Muslims there is something very wrong when we believe our Duas won't be answered. We do not turn to Allah in our times of need and instead put our trust, dependence and hopes on worldly things that we think will help us. Although these temporal things are the means through which our Duas can be answered, the root of our being should be trained automatically to turn to Allah and not anything or anyone else. I will just finish the post with this: Suhaib reported that Allah's Messenger said, "It is remarkable that everything turns out well for a believer while that applies only to a believer. If happiness befalls him, he gives thanks, and it turns out well for him, and if misfortune befalls him, he shows endurance (patience) and it turns out well for him. Sahih Muslim. I understand this post may appear as preachy but in order to understand the conditions of making dua, one needs to go back to the scriptures.
