  1. Very investigative and interesting reporting by Rageh. Wallaahi, an eye-opener.
  2. I cannot stand this toff running away with the premiership. Talk about coming out of the blue when it is there for the taking. If, waa iska camalu sheydaan'e, Labour would have ditched Brown (man has sense and brute intelligence, not to mention he can claim to be in touch with the average man, but obsession with power left him blind!), and fresh young face, this opportunist would not have stood a chance.
  3. ^Thanks for pointing that out. I saw it too. You can join the prayer anytime, but, as said above, you'll have to complete the rak'ats. All these observations are down to the fact that we're not paying enough attention to our Salat. After declaring our deen (Shahaadatain), the Salat comes second, and just second, but we MUST be able to perform it correctly. Allow naga yeel kuwii sax u ooga salaada, aamiin.
  4. I was listening the Radio, and the news was telling the headlines as follows: ...And why NASA is bombing the moon...(stay tuned). Hadn't heard it before, I would have thought, 'hold on, when did Taliban get there?'. Sensationalist Journalism. Gaalo waa wax xun sheeg. By the way, I'm worried about the retaliation ka quruumaha dayaxa degan. And I heard it somewhere that the Jinn, if it's Jinn that resides there, are way advanced than the humans. I'm hoping they'd know where the rocket was fired from!
  5. I put forward Ahmedinajad for the next Peace Award. If the Norwegian and their friends in Oslo do not consider him for the next one, we will launch a new Islamic Peace Award in Jakarta. Be warned!
  6. The answer to the question is 'a resounding NO'. This was suppose to be given someone who has achieved or worked for peace in a conflict or area of hightened tension. What did he do so far? I think, this would be known one of the biggest faux pas that this committee has come up with.
  7. Hunguri waad ku saxan tahay inaad odayga u cadeyso in waxyaabaha qaarkood ku wanaagsan yihiin inaan banaanka lasoo dhigin, i.e., qofta dumarka ah iyo xaalkeeda xaasaasiga ah. Waxaa ku fileyd dul mar, cadeynaya cududaarka sababta uu usoo daahay. Waar ragoow, dee, wax ha la isku falo.
  8. ^I've tried to email you, but your inbox is bursting, system tells me.
  9. For those SOLers who are in other countries who can not take part in any donations held in London or the UK, I suggest you get yourself together in whichever town you're in, and start gathering donations for the cause and wire it over to the destination or the org responsible or the people responsible for this fund raising. However, I've been thinking that we, SOLers, can do even better. We CAN set up a monthly or quarterly donation box that every member donates to a specified sum and an individual (one of us) is trusted with it and we, create a committee that decides where (which group of Somalis) it goes to. Wallaahi, there is a lot that we CAN do, if we get our act together, walaalayaal. Mahadsanidiin.
  10. Illaahow kheyrka ha na dhaafinine, I've just seen this thread at around 22:00 hours. I wish that I saw earlier, but anyways, anything that I can I would do from NW London. Book me in, insha Allah.
  11. I would rather go to Horseed hotel. Good for the pocket, and very good young people work there. Make my own tailor - made holiday in the small Somali/Anfar land.
  12. Allah ha nabad yeelo muslimiinta Yurub iyo Caalamka oo idil.
  13. ^Ahaan jirey, waxaan ka wacan waxan baan hadda ahay ama haystaa. Soomaali baa tahay, Soomaali kalena kaama liito. Iska ilow fikirkan aan fiicneyn ee reerkayagaa reerkiina ka fiican. Anaga oo idil Soomaali baynu nahay, isku mid baynu nahay. Wax faraq ah oo Salaadiinteena, Malaaqyadeena, Ugaasyadeena, Nabaddoonadeena etc u dhaxeeyaa ma ay jiraan. 20-sano ayaanu dhib iyo jab dhex taagana, sababta keentay oo fikirka noocan oo kale ah. Allah-ha ku tuso inaad ka weynaato, walaal. Waxaan rajeynayaa inaanan kugu xadgudbin, umana jeedin, ujeedkeyguna maaha inaan ku daandaansado ee markaan arkay qoraalkaaga ayaan go'aansaday inaan ka jawaabo qoraalka.
  14. as a Mullah in a whorehouse! Bal Faruur maxaa Berbera geeyey isaga?.
  15. But because I know Somalis such as yourself enjoy and would rather read and comprehend the input of foreign than an opinion of a Somali. That's generalisation, sxb. Not all Somalis see the white mens' words as gospel. I couldn't care what he said about Somalia or Somaliland. I would rather that they don't visit as the greater number of them carry with them an ulterior motives when they visit muslim lands. I don't care a bit at all. But this regionalisation mentality of Somalis is sick and I hate it.
  16. The Interview of this British fellow was in the Free London Metro yesterday. I read it, and when I saw that bit, where he said, 'the only place I would like to go back to was Somaliland', I knew that a hardline Somalilander would put it up here to say look this white fellow has been to Hargeisa and would even like to go back! Haha! By all means, be proud of your region/where you've come from, but like MMA said, there's no pride in the plight of your brother next door. I have said it before, and I will say it again, I'm delighted and happy for the Waqooyi Galbeed acheivement in law and order and long may it continue, BUT broader perspective is really important here. Even your GAAL neighbour doesn't deserve this sort of treatment. You wouldn't gloat over their plight. The situation in the south of Somalia is/should be a pain that we all feel deeply and should be hoping beyond that Allah brings back peace and stability for the children, mothers, elders, and the disabled who have to suffer everyday through the hardship.
  17. ^Waar reer Hargeisa iyo Waqooyi Galbeed midna ma ihiye, Illaahow wixii dhib ah ka hay oo tus in dantoodu nabada ku jirto, insha Allah. Waa dhul Soomaaliyeed iyo dad Soomaaliyeed oo nabad ehe, Allow u siyaadi.
  18. Crazy as it may seem, it's generally safer than being reliant on machines and not using your mind (I don't necessarily mean this particular junction). They've recently done a research in Holland where they've taken down the traffic lights at junction in a town (don't remember the town), there was less accidents and traffic flow has improved. So it is not always that traffic lights and being run by some system is good in driving. I have to admit though, most people in the Gulf drive a bit dangerously. I've seen a fellow, with my own eyes, driving whilst reading the Quran (the musxaf on the steering wheel). Though, I admired the act, I didn't like the carelessness much. But then again, whatever Allah wills, will be. No amount of care would spare anything or anybody.
  19. Ciid Mubaarak dhamaantiin. Alle dhibka haka qaado dadka Soomaaliyeed. Rabbi dhulkeena (Soomaaliya) nabad ha inooga dhigo, hana naga yeelo kuwii ku ciida Ciidan ciideeda dhulkeenii hooyo oo nabad ah, aamiin.
  20. horta how easy is it to go to heaven in your world? How many battles did he take part in? How many victories did he garner? How many battalions did he defy? How many muslims let alone somali benefit from his attack on un armed people in a hotel in a third world country? With such a mentality no wonder al shabaab think xasuuq shacabka is the high way to heaven! Dirty fella got capped go blow your self up at a local municipal pool if you wish to meet him. Ramadan baa lugu jiraa maahine, waa kuu ab tirin lahaa. Either way, hadaan ku kala tagno, adigana diintaa, aniguna diintay, ka waran? Mise waxaad tahay kuwa wax ku garta in madaxa laga garaaco mooyee aan garan, war na kala daa, adiguna Rabigaa anna kay? Bottom line is, na kala day.
  21. What better day to day than the last ten days of Ramdan Saa'iman Lillaah. This isn't a setback,in fact it is a win. In the light of the hadeeth of the prophet, the mu'min is a winner in every which way. Illaahow Jannadaadii fardowsa meesheeda ugu sareysa gee muslimiintaa xaqdarada lagu dilay. Amiin.
  22. Jizaaka Allah kheyr for the reminder. It goes to show that this deen is nothing but Nicma mina Laah for his servants.
  23. The response from all the Somali fellas here should have been: Thanks to our wonderful, wonderful Somali sisters. You're wonderful and we're grateful to have you! Ileyn, Al-ixsaanu ilal ixsaan maaha? Alxamdu Lillaah, it is refreshing and be a Utiful to hear Somalis love and respect each other. After all, we're just one family.
