  1. Where is Mogadishu's version? Someone grab a video and hurry... Something worth copying.
  2. ^Should stick to telling the story of your travels, leave the past politics aside.
  3. Galbeedi, sxb thanks for your frank account of your travels. Much appreciated. ” waar idinku Awalba Macalimiin Baad ahaydeen , Tamaashiirtiina waan idiin dhiibi doonaaye buuqa Yaree” . It looks in Tamaashiirtii naloo Dhiibay”. This made me laugh. There is certain truth to it. Beri samaadkii, most of the teachers were from Awdal. You could say they are the the nation's teachers.
  4. MMA ragii hore waaye. Anshax ii maamuus aa la dhahaa. Such things never use to happen back in the good old days. Marka markaa aragto iyagoo la sameynaayo waa in laga hadlaa. Gorotee?
  5. That is not true. Chose to buy a soft drink from a Somali over Asian (non Muslim), his whole demeaner was shyt to say the least. Didnt even make an eye contact when giving him cash. Then again, not all are the same.
  6. This is trash, sorry to say that, but that is what it is. How about being Canadian and Somali and try be proud of it.
  7. I am gonna put it succinctly and say it's easier to mediate between the 4 habro and co or the four Saleebaans et al, than all the diverse tribes in the south. xaaji, the south Is far more complicated. Bay and Bakool have nothing in common with Sh Hoose, Sh. hoose has nothing with Banaadir etc. Do you get my point, my brother, I am calling you brother cuz Of our common Soomaalinimo.
  8. I am sure I have seen another one doing the same prior to him in the Indian ocean. Oh, I remember, it was Mr Mahmood showing how peaceful his country is/was! However, to credit this man's dues, his part of the Somali peninsula is generally peaceful. Then again, like the Punt-dhul, the whole place is inhabited by his kinship, whilst the fella down south has to put up with a mix, and a crazy mix at that. Hey-ho, Somalia iyo Somali.
  9. Should warn beforehand about the gruesome nature of the picture in the title.
  10. Wonderful read, really enjoyed your journey in general knowledge knowing about, and reading for finding out about things. How i wish that every Somali child would do the same because that would put them on par with their peers who might have better resources. Learning is a lifelong journey, long may you continue.
  11. I wonder if there is any other entities in the country that operates as such.
  12. H-block or D-block, cudur miyaa oo dadka ku dhaca?
  13. Someone described flying as 'balaayo cirka kula aaday', spot on I say. Probability and statistics are meaningless, imo, when it comes to flying, and I don't think it's irrational at all. Like someone else said, something goes wrong with a vehicle, you can park it or stop or jump off, not from 36000 feet. Flying scares the heck out of me, but it's a necessary form of transport.
  14. That Mr Hargeisa was a good study of people over years. To the poster, need I point the obvious? I ain't going beyond that.
  15. Unfortunately, you don't have such leadership, therefore you're game. Dhaq nin walbaa damac ka galaa ee ha la yaabin the Kenyan professor.
  16. They say that it is built in the human to believe - worship - therefore, if you are not believing in Allah, you believe in Satan in his own many ways, one of which is the evidently demonstrated above.
  17. but in politics trust me they are more corrupt and clannish than most men. That can't be true. Very few are and I believe their maternal instincts would never allow most of them to be as cruel as the men are. Alle uma abuurin caynkaas.
  18. He is one of Somalia's most accomplished writers. Lucky for him that he was born in the right time in Somalia. I think the gov't should consciously target key ministries for female leadership, competent female leadership, areas like education, health etc. I believe that they might have a better chance in delivering for the people than men do.

    Usoni

A Nairobi-based sci-fi television series portraying a world in which immigration trends are reversed has been screened for the first time, with producers hoping it will gain a wider distribution. Usoni, which is set in 2062, tells the story of European refugees fleeing to Africa. Created by Marc Rigaudis of the United States International University in Nairobi, the film casts Africa as an oasis – the only place where the sun continues to shine. It follows a young couple who embark on a dangerous journey to reach the continent but before their dream can be realised, they must overcome the worst of humanity and beat impossible odds. 20. Angelina Jolie in comparison is good looking? Huh? I know we are nt comparing like with like, bt think abt it, wadaadaay! what future roles can this guy secure, even he wins? skinny east african muslim. limited, unless the Youth go mad big time and again they require skinnies playing skinnies. We had mooryaantii go to town with the US GI's, result Black hawk down. And then the lucrative biz of piracy comes Captain Philips. Next?
  21. I think that that man weighed up his options very carefully, and has come to the best of bad options, i.e, progress for the majority through peaceful means, as a result sizable black children have an access to education, healthcare (may not be perfect, but better than probably many in the continent) etc. The rest is left for the ANC to sort out Couldn't agree more with that those words. He has done his bit, the rest is left for the current and future leaders.
  22. WW3 i think. Kim is executing his own famillia, China muscle flexing,US building up fire power in the region. Hope it cools down.
