Ladiif History can be misleading if misinterpreted by the wrong people.In this case 21 years of kacaan has left behind a nation brainwashed by loopsided history,made brutal murderers into national heroes and real heroes into traitors.The Sayid I believe is a prime example.He went on a rampage and in the process killed more innocent Somalis than the Italians, British and Ethiopians combined.Some were killed beacause of who they were and others for their property.A very few others beacuse they worked for the colonial powers.Honestly he was no Sayid or sheikh but he has 21 years of kacaan to be thankful for that. I think 21 years of Kacaan in Somalia have left a negative impact on somalis in 2 ways, one is Qabiil and the other is a history written in Villa Somalia which villified some and turned others into heroes.The prime example is the Sayid who has killed more somalis than the white man.However Siyaad Barre has turned him into a national hero by misinterpreting history to suit his motives.If you all are going to vote for him then you might as well consider voting for people like Siad, Aideed Sr, Morgan beacuse they all have one thing in common.....they killed more somalis than Ethiopians, Europeans swahili combined. I have joined this forum a while back even though I have quitely observed the writings in here from the sidelines for a long time and what convinced me to join was the fact that I noticed that discussions were carried out in a very civil manner and arguments resolved amicably almost immiedately.I have also seen in here some very intelligent folks mostly the ladies and quite a number of the guys too. However I have come to recognize that majority of the debates in here tend to focus on small matters in most cases and almost trivial issues on the other therefore I asked myself if a matter of immense magnitude was to be presented to this learned crowd,would the same civilty exist or would there be name calling? Would people be infuriated with each other to the point that almost everything in here would have to be censored by the Moderators and all that would appear in the forum would be asteriks? Last but not least would people voice their concerns in public without having to worrry about what others think. Around a month ago I happen to be in store when 3 somali ladies walked in with a 7 year old girl.After greeting the 3 women I said Iska waran to the little girl and to my surprise she said fine in English.I looked at the women and asked them if the little girl spoke Somali markaas the mum was like "In yar wey fahantaa laakin kuma jawaabi karto" Yet what I noticed was that the mum spoke little English markaas what went wrong???? Girls you all tend to brush off the the question with the simple answer women are curious....we know that but you know how they say "Jiini qofkii keenaa saraa" if you ask a guy about his past shouldn't a girl be willing to answer a few questions about hers as well? I know you are supposed to live for the present and not in the past but do you think you should be held accountable for what you did as a 16 year old.
