  7. Enterprenuer Walaahi you come across as someone whose very thoughtful and well versed in the intricacies of Somalis politics. The points you have raised are the problems that Somalis face.I wish more people would realize this instead of supporting blindly.
  8. Hindi Log I love Kajol.....My all time Fav Movie was DilWale Dil Hunya Lajayenge. The other day I went into a Indian Movie store and the owner was really rude...One of those stuck up Indians.Anyways I got pissed and went up to the counter while there were several old ladies and asked loudly Indian Porn Hee..... When he said No I said, well a friend of mine told me you had the best collection in town but I understand you only rent them to people you know and then walked out pretending to be mad.You should have seen the stares he was getting from the old ladies....
  9. Where do I get that impression that Samurai Warrior is the body double of someone else mise?
  10. Miskiin said So save your breath. Faraha iskaga qaad dadkaas, ha iska raaxeystaan with their delusional dream. Long so as it will soon be HISTORY! Not worthy of a response.
  11. Opinionated said Like it or not..this is a FORUM. Whether it be a Somali one or not, you are going to get many different views. Some you will agree with, others you will disagree with and the rest you just leave alone. What I don't get exactly is, What are you so SHOCKED about? Well said Opinionated
  12. HornAfrique I grew in Ethiopia, spent 10 years of my life in Addis Ababa.Graduated from the most prestigious school in Addis.Walaalo it wasn't called the name you mentioned and from what I know there hasn't been a name change either.
  13. Libaax Waxaan islahaa Guto in yar oo stress ah ha ka sii yar daayee maad inoo deysiid
  14. Baashi said I was refuting one point in Cilmi's long article and that is the ex-officers who attempted the coup...the reason was a southern officer was posted as thier boss cuz he had academic credentials while the Northern replaced had none other than experience. Baashi maanta uun baad is qarxisey. The very same Northern officers you are talking about were a group of young Sandhurst educated military officers led by Allah U Naxariiste Hassan Keyd.Sandhurst if I am right is the most prestigious military academy in the UK....more like the West Point of the USA.Is that what you call uneducated mise too educated??? Now coming back to your earlier comment that the North lacked far behind....thats not the fact.Every Somali knows that at the time of independence there was a huge disparity in terms of education between the South and the North.Till upto 1974 when the government of Siad Barre forcibly changed the educational system in the North to use Somali as the median of instruction, the South was way far behind. I think when you wrote that article you saw too far into the "Dittore or Engineere" that is prevalent in the South as real titles.Waar waa kaftan ee title dhab ah maaha.
  15. Guto Bal soo daa.Enlighten us with your facts.
  16. Guto Berri hore ayaad seexadey ee iska hurud.Sheeko socon weydey ayaad meeshaan sharfata leh la soo galeeysaa ee iska hadhso saaxiib.Ri garabo cuntey mirqaan keedo miciyo libaax mey moodaa.
  17. HornAfrique Say that again.Osman Samater School in Addis Ababa.....never heard of it nor seen it.
  18. Marka hore welcome back SamyGyrl Marka labaad I think Samygyrl was very poignant in her remarks re:the fate of the South. The tactic SomaliWeyn supporters are adopting is the Somali adage that said "Call a thief a thief before he calls you a thief". Well keep screaming thief guys, every inch Somaliland moves forward SomaliWeyn moves 10 back.
  19. I sometimes wonder mana waalan mise aduunkaa waaleen. Why some might ask others might think ooh this is just another one of those posts where the author has gone a little kuku but let me say why I ask myself this.Well for those of you who follow the incessant bickering that goes on in the political section of SOL between Somaliland and Somali Weyn followers,I think its quite logical to ask oneself who's right or who's wrong, who has their priorities set and who's lost wondering aimlessly in the dark.Somalis long ago said eloquently "Qofkastaa Qumanihiisa ayuu Qorta ku Sidaa"I think I could't have said that better.Over the cacophony of accusations and counter accusations one can't quite help but ask is this worthwhile or is it a charade that many in here think is sometimes taken too far. Too many questions too little time but bear with me I will get to it.Let me break it all down before I get bogged down. One side lives for a state called Somaliland whether its a chimera or otherwise, they are content where they are. They make claims true or otherwise, that their little nation has become a beacon of hope for Somalis to live in harmony.Respect one another and coexist without thinking of slitting each others throat like a savage from the Conan the Barbarian series. On the other hand we have bunch of educated guys who believe in Somali Weyn, beautiful, sounds astoundingly beautiful, but un peu mon ami...its not as simple as one would like to think. The same advocates of Somali Weyn are living through their very own chimera.Lost wondering waar waxaa dhacey. The simple answer is WAXBA....so where is the picture gone ugly.Where's Somali Weyn, gone in annals of history as an experiment gone wrong.Result of that experiment is where we find ourselves ,a population of which a large number have lost their lives, others refugees in a God forsaken land and the remaining traumatised by years of conflict. Now I ask you all mana waalan mise aduunka ayaa waalan.I leave that to your imagination.
  20. Incidentally I saw your post right after I posted the new cabinet named by President Riyaale. The most powerful Ministery will now be headed by Edna Adan.Though she isn't the first women minister in Somaliland but she now becomes the most powerful. That proves things are changing.By the time you graduate maybe we will have the very first woman President Insha Allah. Keep working hard on your education in the mean time.
  21. 22. Baashi said When the two former colonies merged to form the Somali Republic in 1960, the north lagged far behind the south in economic infrastructure and skilled labor. As a result, southerners gradually came to dominate the new state's economic and political life--a hegemony that bred a sense of betrayal and bitterness among northerners. This issue waxaad ka soo wareysadaa odayshaa reer Koonfureed ee maalintaas joogey.I am 100% sure they will tell you a different, more realistic story.
  23. HornAfrique said That is what will happen in the Horn. I'm not saying that we should take the Ogaden into court at this troubled time, but inshallah when there is a reunited Somalia with a broad based federal government it will be done. I've always thought that if the late Barre regime did one stupid thing, it was the Ogaden War. From there on everything started to go downhill. Well Barre went a step further when he signed this away in 1988.In his quest to destroy the SNM he and Mengistu signed an agreement whereby Somalia would no longer lay claim to any territory under Ethiopian rule and in return Mengistu would expell the SNM out of their camps in Ethiopia.
  24. Sam Warrior Business ventures Osman and Ali setup in dark lit rooms over Mijin chat ah and the corporations you manage are in 2 different categories. The richest men among Somalis do not have a business degree yet know and live cost benefit analysis without the help of a Jewish Professor and you, my sword wielding samurai will make tall claims based on your Western corporate exeriences not quite comprehending the true mechanism that drives business among Somalis.Like it or not Somalis have matured enough to separate business and politics so you might as well jump onto the bandwagon cuz this one will stop for no one.Call this home woven yarn or what ever but those are the realities on the ground. Adios
