  4. Thanks Smith but I also wait for the other nomads to respond.....from your post is it wrong to deduce that you are rooting for Ina Yusuf?
  5. Smith I have come to recognise that a lot of Somalis Puntlanders in particular agree that Mogadisho today will not be a viable capitol, they also are of the opinion that peace should wait for no one.Do you personally think that this is a solution and lets say if the Mogadisho warlords do not mend their ways then they should be brushed aside for the time being and declare a Somali government somewhere else possibly in Puntland. Do you also favor anyone candidate over the other.
  6. Bari See my friend if I was a Somali weyn supporter I would not hesitate to define my hopes and aspirations for a united Somalia.I would go a bit further to define how I would bring about a United Somalia, who I would pick as the leader most likely to unify the nation and discuss all possible outcomes of the current peace process. Would you be kind enough in initiating such a discussion and telling us how you see the above questions? Then nomads like the ever eloquent Samurai warrior,HornAfrique,Baashi,Smith and all the rest who believe in Somali weyn will follow suit.I'm sure it will also be an eye opener for people like me who are pro seccession. Much appreciated
  7. Smith Well that sounds tempting but how about we start something that portrays the realities on the ground regarding Somaliweyn and whether its feasible at this moment vis a vis the ongoing peace process in Kenya, the number of warlords in Mogadisho, the intransigeance of the political leadership in the South. That I think is an area that no one in here has yet examined and in all honesty I am dying to know the aspirations of my fellow nomads regarding the issues I mentioned above. Another possible area of discussion could be how you Somali Weyn fans expect to see a United Somalia in light of the fact that somaliland does not wish to rejoin that union. Will they be forced, coerced or a possible invasion to restore that union. No one once again has ever raised that issue. Let me know what you think maybe the questions asked above will re-ignite the flames of debate.
  8. Bari Nomad I do agree with you haddi MAYA La odhan lahaa Somali meeshey ku dambeysey mey mari laheyn. Smith Saaxiib seems like you just about missed the bus.We have literally exhausted arguing about Somaliland.Seems like everything that needed to be said has been said so I reckon there will be no need for repeating what people have stated over and over again but who about starting other avenues of disagreeing politely.
  9. For those of you coming to DC for the 4th of July, make sure you leave you car behind and take the metro even tho that sucks but it sure as hell beats the huge traffic jams and the fact that there will be no place to park in DC on that day or even better there are several other places to catch the fireworks in VA without going to the National Mall.

Gadiid and co, would never tell you how Somalilanders used to ridicule our plight, made fun of our cause only becuase we were fighting against Siyaad Barre's brutal ways na'mean. As my father used to say: "Waa iska Xaal adduun" Guys You only talk of one part of Somalia but I condemn in words and action crimes perpetrated against innocent Somalis everywhere from Somaliland,to the central regions to Mogadisho.I believe that was the action of cowards and who so ever committed crimes against innocent Somalis should be brought to court for their cowardly acts and punished.
  11. Baashi I will let you in on a national secret.Every government in Somaliland so far from Tuur to Egal and now Riyaale all had one thing in common and that is their aspirations to see a united Somalia but the one force they are scared sh!tless of is the wrath of the people if and when they dare utter that dreaded word Somaliweyn.I guess thats how people's power works but trust me our leaders intentions have never been hidden from us.Those morons know they are safe so long as they sing our tunes and dance to our beats. We expect those jerks to maintain what has been achieved thus far till the orphans who grew up in the refugee camps are old enough to be the leaders of tommorrow. So Baashi its not a vocal minority as you would think but that silent majority that we follow.
  12. Baashi said What the secessionist fail to envision is the cardinal rule that the wishes and aspirations of vocal minority can not be imposed to the silent majority without completely defeating and subjugating them. As there is no way of acheiving that...Secessionist are reduced to make unsubstantiated claims. We seem to agree on almost all but the point above seems to deviate from that path.I thought along the lines of Somaliland being the wishes of the majority but you have it the other way round..Why if I may Ask Baashi.
  13. Nino Waar bal addunkan eega.Nino waar saaxiib miyaad qayileysey when you posted the hasty reply.Puntland runs only thru half of Galkacyo does not extend to the Southern part of that city.It extends to as claimed by Puntlanders to E.Sanaag and Sool.Let me see intaas yaa ku nool.....Ma Chinese baa soo degey intii aan wadanka ka soo maqnaa.Isn't that the classic case of aryan tribal nation.I just wish Abdillahi Yusuf iyo reer Puntland would at least add a little more spice to the pot cuz intan waa bilaa dhadhan.

The simple fact is Many other parts of Somalia are safe, as safe as S/Land. So when you guys stop wishing bad on rest of Somlia and start concetrating on advancing S/Land..that might be good for all of us. Nino Brown Its not us Somaliland people who wish to see a things turn sour in rest of Somalia.I personally feel that we should all have peace but some my brethren in the South wish nothing but chaos for me.Just to give you an idea of where I'm heading...All the posts in here regarding Somaliland are of events that talk of oppression, corruption and chaos. The tragic side of all this is that they all have been posted by so called "Somali Nationalists or Patriots". Patriots, come on, be fair it doesn't take an Einstein to figure out they are no patriots. When they cry Somali Weyn they do so for their own ulterior motives. On the other hand even the most militant of Somalilanders in here will not post a topic that talks of destruction or death from Somalia. We refrain from that...why you may ask, maybe because we understand that there is more to life than this.Maybe its because we are more Somali than the self confessed Somali patriot in here or maybe we have seen it and wish no one else to experience the misery of cold brutal people. But what ever the reasoning behind this I just wish that guys like Samurai warrior,HornAfrique and Bari Nomad would for once in their lifetime post a human development article regarding Somaliland alongside their countless articles about Puntland and how everything in the homeland is Glossy and while I'm at this point ask them to refrain from posting articles about the four dead cats found in a Hargeisa alley.
  15. Che,turns out we do have some very logical people in here. Thanks bro for pointing out the futulity of conducting a meaningless argument of Anaa Kaa iyo Anaa Kaa. At least in Somaliland authorities talk of an all inclusive nation with several different ethnic groups yet Puntland seems to drift towards an alliance based solely on clan lines. We in Somaliland have tried to steer away from a clan based political entity to one built on party lines as evident in the elections that took place recently. We will continue to strengthen that position by holding the final phase of that process by holding the parliamentary elections within this year Insha Allah but Puntland's existence is one where its leadership is hell bent on creating a more "tribalised" society made up of only 3 clans of the same family and here we have educated people hopelessly arguing its case trying to paint a rosy picture where there's none to show for.I sure as hell would support them if they branched out and reached to the other half of Galkacyo to at least portray a semblence of a multi enthic nation but that in itself is a dream. In this intricate web of events its really hard to clearly ascertain who's right or wrong but it all boils down to who presents their ideas in a civilised manner.Somaliland a multi ethnic nation or Puntland a nation of 3 families...Take your pick....
  16. Juxaa My post did not mention reasons about why we decided to secede,it just pointed out a few historical reminders about the issue at hand, Sool and Sanaag.
  17. HornAfrique Walaalow I have come to live with one thing in the past 12 years and that is Reer Konfur rhetoric whenever a so called Somali Peace Conferences starts. It always starts with the same exact words and I quote I don't have to say it, but we all know that the entity of "Somaliland" will be no more by this time next year, when the Somali Republic starts functioning and is able to lobby once more in the international community. But alas Somaliland keeps on surviving, going from strength to strength with each passing day thanks to the Almighty and the sheer will of the people of Somaliland.Your case is a classic example of "Don't count your chicken before they hatch".All you have here is good ole Reer Koonfur Booto maybe thats all you ever will have five years down the road when we Somalilanders have yet another election and you have what ever you currently have maybe a few more angry warlords added to the list and a dozen more "CONFERENCES". But seriously for what ever strange reason I was under the impression that the "Somali Peace Conference" was to reconcile the warlords in the South and bring everlasting peace there but somewhere somehow I get the impression that there is a hidden agenda there regarding Somaliland.Oh well it just shows how much you people love us and can't live without us.
  18. Well Juxaa first of all you still have the Old President's mentality because before him everything was reer Waqooyi no this no that. But he came along sliced up Toghdeer to create Sool cut up Waqooyi Galbeed to make Awdal and told the poor refugees from Somali galbeed that Hargeysa was theirs after signing away their homeland to Mengistu and Ethiopia, promised people in Badhan the price for their loyality was Sanaag.Moved the nomads from Budhoodle to Ceelka Burco, quick rapid movements to annihilate the SNM threat.Unfortunately it turned out he was a bad planner,he died in Nigeria a refugee. In the mean time we got together with all, asked them to forgive and forget. The result it turns out is that we now have Riyaale who was NSS as President,Qaybe who was stripping in Las Anod in 1989 asking his people to murder every SNM supporter as Speaker of the Parliament.Every inch of land was given back to their rightful owners,no more Dulmi,no more Oppressed or the Oppressor. All are equal. Now we truly don't give a rats ass about where people pledge their allegiance to but they should remember that what Siad barre created yesterday in 1986 is dead and buried with him in Nigeria. We forgive but not forgot who owns what and where.Taas yaan la ilaawin.

  20. Muraad you forgot this E)Knowing Dahabshiil has local reps in every city, then its not wrong to assume that the calender was printed in Mogadisho and could be some poor dude in Xamar forgot about his own independence day.
  21. Originally posted by SmithNwestern: Dahabshiil is a company long rumoured to be run by ignorant folk. Well they have proven that in a somewhat fantastic way. July 1 is the independence day of Somalia, those who seek to profit from Somali's should respect that. Dahabshiil must have mistaken themselves to be some big corporation, lol. Boycot them or not their reputation has been dented for ever. Smith I hate to put a dent in your analysis but Dahabshiil is a huge corporation by Somali standards. The owner not only has the money transfer business but has also branched out into the telecom, engineering and shipping industry. On top of that he happens to be among one of the major importers of food stuffes in Somaliland,Puntland and Mogadisho.Ironic that you should call him ignorant but trust me what he makes in a year, he can take a lot of Somalis off the welfare list MMA Hate is a blind thing....It impairs your judgement greatly markaas saxiib Stop hating. To the rest I am sure May 18 is never in the Al-Amal calender or was never in the Barakaat calender either but you don't see Somalilanders spitting fire on their websites
  22. LOOOOOOOOOOOL Thats funny.Miskiin qaxooti Europe iyo America jooga does not understand the needs of people back home.Somaliland does not need nor beg for anyone's allegiance.Who so ever wants to be part is welcome and who walks away waan sii dhaweyntoona.CID MAANTA LA QASBAYAA MA JIRO.Just say whats yours in Sool & Sanaag.PERIOD.
  23. Libaax If I made millions of dollars like Dahabshiil, politics would be the last thing on my mind.Running after all that change would keep me so occupied that I would have little time for other matters of importance. If this was a deliberate ommision on their part they lose if however this was an honest mistake then it should be rectified ASAP.
  24. Guys I asked an honest question intended for all Somalis irrespective of area or idealogy. The reason I asked was is there anything at all that we Somalis can celebrate for after 40 odd years of independence from the "white dogs" as someone earlier pointed out.
