Jacay, these are good seminars you have presented. To be fair, Communication Skills II: Thinking Before Speaking, should be more the men than the sisters because….well do I really need to explain? But I really like Man Management: Minor Household Chores Can Wait Till After The Game, see its not that we don’t like to clean, its just our time management may be a little off and if there is a game on (such as the Super-Bowl or the NBA playoffs), the chores can wait lol. But the one course I would sign my wife up ASAP is, Communication Skills III: Getting What you Want Without Nagging, but than again….if I know she’s gonna nag me till I get High Blood pressure, I wont let it get to the state (a man just told me to give it up, whatever she’s asking for….hand it over…..but you know what I wouldn’t hand over….which leads me to my next point) TV Remotes: For Men Only and I like how it says REMOTES with the S. We had a halal KFC in Toronto, but it was called Kennedy Fried Chicken...so I take it that this KFC is not your average KFC. But the Muslims that owned this particular joint, were actually serving haraam food. So Allah, The-All Wise, caused their once successful business to go to ruin. Im not saying I wanna meet her at Tim Hortons, but my boy...he jokes around by saying "you know, Im afraid Ima meet that girl in which Allah has decreed I marry while Im at Tim Hortons" lol...He's paranoid, but Im not. The only plans I would make while mama is watching is halal plans (wink wink). Such as...umm..umm... We can also learn alot from the situation in Afghanistan and the Taliban movement that "never" seems to end. Whenever we come across or hear of deaths that involve muslims (whether in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia or anywhere else) we shouldnt have this mindset that, we have our own problems....therefore, lets not involve ourseleves in their affairs. A Muslim will never taste true eman until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself and so the question is, dont we desire to live in security and peace? If your comparing a good wife to the winning the lottery, than Im up against the odds. I'd rather spend my time doing the acts that will cause me to inherit a good home in the hereafter. And it doesnt hurt that Allah has prepared for us al-hoor al-‘iyn in which we will enjoy their company. So what are my chances in getting them? I probably have a better chance of winning the lottery lol. Ask him, what is the most important thing in your life? It sounds like a ****** question, but there is wisdom behind it. If he says my family accept that. If he says, success, than listen to what he attributes success to. Assalam alaikum The bigger piture is not about a Somalia life vs an Iraqis, than rather....our brothers and sisters are dying all over, while we, for the most part are occupying our brains, but even more....our hearts with issues that have little to no benefit. And so, I ask Allah to forgive us for our ignorance. Nervous-chick (or should I say sister), I know these times in which we are living in are full of hardship and pain, but if we keep and stride hard for the sake of Allah, than after every hardship, there follows ease (inshAllah).
