The Last Minute: Sixty seconds left of my life My heart is pounding and the unseen is ever approaching I reflect on my time and my teachers and all their coaching If only I knew they would have abandon me in this time of need I wouldn’t have caused my heart to get so attached Fifty seconds is but all I got left, And my visions get stronger of people who are standing in rows ready to perform salat. No more Ramadan’s I think to myself and the tears in my eyes grow My soul afraid and my heart overwhelmed My mind pure from thoughts I’m left to stare straight into the nearby dust Forty seconds to go and I ponder over the decree I turn to my dented shield and my sword That couldn’t defend me against time Oh if I only could strike it with another blow I would afflict it with so much pain; it would be forced to move slow And my children would be left with eternity to increase in good deeds Thirty seconds to go and the Shatan’s whispers are abundant with flow He pleads to me that his invitation is sincere Whereas I know he will abandon me in my hour of need So I turn his offer down in discreet And I turn to my Lord who Hears all and Sees If only I could be saved from this misery Twenty seconds left of my life and I could see the messengers from the sky descending This was the decree that Islam had informed me of from the very beginning The door of repentance is now closed and my duration in this world is but over My heart once in a state of fear is overtaken with peace A voice informs me that Allah is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy and I smile But I worry about my wife that I will leave behind more than I fear for myself She sits over me and is engaged in an act of ignorance, weeping Naturally her love for me is causing her to weep with such ease Ten seconds left and the extreme pain begins But no pain exceeds the reality that I will be leaving my wife for a term May Allah reunite us and grant us a life in which we will not fight time I see the last of the angels that are descending and it is he that will remove my soul He demands the soul to come out and my soul is a soul that obeys

I don’t know why yall are surprised with those who live in Arabia as they fell victim to this evil act. I can almost guarantee you that if it were offered in our own communities many would also chose that same path. Specially living in the West, where we are asked what would we do for a house near the lake, a sports car and a woman who 90% of her body is fake? Maybe magic would be their answer (Allah forbid) And Allah knows best

What Famous Leader Are You? personality tests by similarminds.com I guess I have alittle of him in me. Personally I wish I could have been compared to Khalid bin Walid or Abu Bakr

Femme is it because the weekly hadeeths are short and straight to the point? lol Well anyways...I see nobody wants to share a verse from the Quran that they have read today. And Allah knows best

Cambarro great idea...lets awake this thread that has been asleep for more than a year. Well since it’s a new year I will start with the first question. My question is can a woman give her zakat to her husband? And Allah knows best P.S. As for Shamarkee's questions, here is one among the many answers to his questions. Saleh's people disbelieved and thought he was bewitched. Then they asked him to show them a sign from Allah that he was indeed a prophet. They pointed at a huge rock that was standing by itself, and proposed to him that he ask his God to create a she-camel out of it. They of course thought that it was a good way to dumbfound him and silence him. But Saleh, in turn, took a strong oath from them that if Allah provided them with this sign they would believe in him and follow him. He then fervently prayed to Allah to answer their request. The huge rock moved and split and from it came a wonderful she-camel, which was pregnant and soon to give birth. Allah provided the Thamud people this miracle which was also a test for them, to see if they obey His orders. Saleh told them: "O my people! This she-camel of Allah is a sign to you. Leave her to feed on Allah's earth, and inflict no harm on her, or a swift punishment will seize you!"

^^^^Cambarro well said indeed sister. I remember a little while ago I was sitting at a friend’s house and talking to his 12 year old brother. Now this kid is "mashAllah". His family had moved to Yemen seven years ago when he was so young and he knew nothing. Now that he is back, he is grown and has memorized the entire Quran. So being the smart a** I am, I was reciting random ayaats from the Quran in order to test him. I was amazed that he was able to find the Surah before I could finish the ayaat. So I took it to another level by reciting ayaats that are mentioned in more than one surah and what was the result you may ask? Well he informed me that there were multiple surahs in which that ayaat was mentioned and that I should recite the following ayaat in the surah in order for the answer. In amazement I walked away from the kid. But I couldn’t stay away for long so I came back to him and I asked him one question. I asked him, from among all the ayaats and surahs in the Quran, which one was his "favorite"? So he looked at me and said, "Surah Baqarah". I walked away and that was the end of that. Surah Baqarah is amazing and I would like to share one ayaat from the surah. Allah, the All-Mighty says, "Therefore remember Me, I will remember you and be grateful to Me and never be ungrateful to Me". Now whenever Allah mentions anything in a particular order we should look at it carefully. In this case, Allah says to remember Him and He will remember us. So in that case, we have to keep our duty to Allah and we must remember that WE stand in need of Allah, whereas He stands in no need of us, may He be Glorified. And Allah knows best

Assalam alaikum Kimiya sister, I love that ayaat also. Surah Azhab within itself is such a powerful surah. May Allah make us among those who love His words and act upon them. And Allah knows best

Assalam alaikum Aisha, I'm not teacher but I like to listen and give credit where credit is due. None of us are scholars and you’re absolutely right that we need to be careful wherever we give "our" own explanation to a verse or a hadeeth but we’re seeking lessons within the hadeeth and perhaps the lessons I see aren't the same as the ones you mention. Therefore if we share the different lessons that we draw out than perhaps we will learn more. However after hearing the different lessons we shouldn’t stop there but in fact that should motivate us to research what the earlier scholars had written about that particular in which a person posts. The objective of this thread is not for a person to share a particular hadeeth from among their collection but rather it is more than that. I hope as I’m writing to post the hadeeth or verse that it would cause it to be placed in my long term memory instead of my hidden conscience. Therefore I provide myself with a better opportunity to recall the hadeeth and with every recall I may have, I hope to implement it. And Allah knows best P.S. I have a question for yall. What would you consider your favorite Surah to be? (Favorite is not the right word for the sentence but I hope you know what I mean)

Red my bro, how you doing? Let the record show that I agree with whatever Red wants to say, and if in this case he believes Pucca and company are "young" than that’s what are OKAY? Accept it and be proud. In regards to Nomadique, she may only be 17 or was she 18? No I think she said she was 19, than again, its never wise to guess a women's age so let me stroll up and see what she actually wrote....(looking and looking and I found it) as I was saying, she may only be 20 but her mental would make you believe that she has survived World War 1 and World War 2 and has lived to write about it lol. Now before she jumps all over me, I WAS ONLY JOKING. And Allah knows best

Khalaf bro, I have come across this particular hadeeth many times and each and everytime I get a new feeling about it. Sometimes I’m overtaken with hope for those who are not committed to their duties and other times, I’m simply worried. Therefore my worry causes me not to slacken off on my acts of worship because if I was too, than perhaps I would be among those that enter the fire (Allah forbid). So thanks for bringing the hadeeth forth and may Allah reward you. And Allah knows best

AlMaghrib classes are on of a kind. I have been taking them here in Toronto since (or basically) the start and I wouldnt exchange it for anything. I do suggest anyone who hasn't taken them to attend one of their seminars. And Allah knows best

Assalam alaikum and may all these hadeeths reach each and every one of you in a good state of health and eman. Well Aisha, I see you were able to find a hadeeth that discuss greed but I must ask what lessons have you learned from them. The great scholars of Islam use to view one hadeeth from so many different angles (and if you don’t know what I mean than go and look at the Fiqhi books of the different madhabs and you'll discover exactly my point) and I understand that they were scholars and we are "just" seeking the knowledge to get us by in life, however, it would be interesting if in the future you share with us a lesson that you have taken out of the particular hadeeth in which you have posted. Now that goes for everybody lol. Aisha, I’m sure there are many lectures from different sheiks that cover backbiting, but before a person is able to abandon backbiting altogether, he/she must know how the Prophet (saw) defined backbiting. See living in the 21st century, we are forced to believe that backbiting is actually "lying about our brother" where in fact it’s actually the exact opposite. In a hadeeth that was reported in Muslim, the Prophet (saw) was reported to have said, "backbiting implies talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like" so one Sahaaba asked the Prophet (saw), what if I speak the truth of my brother in his absence? The Prophet (saw) replied, "If you speak the truth than you are backbiting and if you lie, it is than slander". As you can see by the definition given by the Prophet (saw) that backbiting covers a wide variety of areas and it should not be under estimated. Matter fact in surah Al-Hujurat, verse 12, this grave sin has been compared to the likes of eating the flesh of your dead brother (which illustrates the dislike Allah has for such an act). May Allah help us in distancing ourselves from backbiting. And Allah knows best

Haneefah sister, may Allah reward you. Forbearance is indeed a quality we collectively need to develop, so may Allah assist us in acquiring it. Personally I will work hard to make it apart of my character and whatever good I do with forbearance, I ask Allah, the Most Kind, to cause you to share my good deeds with me. And Allah knows best
-
^^^^^And we are still awaiting our daily doss of Aisha's hadeeth, so share with us one (from among the thousands of hadeeths) that you have in your hadeeth library. Wont you? Except this time I want you to share with us a hadeeth that covers the topic of greed. And Allah knows best
-
Assalam alaikum Those are very strong hadeeths in which you have shared with us Abu Geeljire but I simply have to ask, what lessons have you drawn out of these hadeeths? I understand one basic principle and that is goodness towards the parents, but do you see any others lessons that may be of use? And Allah knows best
-
Aisha sister, your right. It is clear like the Red Sea (which is actually clear water for the most part lol). But depending on what madhab a person follows, he may not find the hadeeth you mentioned above in their Fiqhi books and which is a research assignment within itself to determine why. But I agree with you that Salat is what will separate us and those who disbelieve. It is by far the most precious act to me and a gift from Allah to His creation. So Aisha keep it coming sis. I read all your hadeeths and I try to implement it in my life. So bring forward a hadeeth or a verse I can implement today and keep it as apart of my forever. And Allah knows best

Assalam Alaikum In this world and age, it is about supporting your claims. What better evidence than a verse from the Quran (note: In Surah Imran verse 7, Allah states that there are some verses in the Quran that are entirely clear and others that aren't. Understanding this verse would lead us to read more so we can search for the verses that are entirely clear such as the stories of the people before us, the laws of Allah (for the most part) and the Names and Attributes of Allah) and if the Quran is the best evidence, than the debate should stop there correct? I’m afraid to say, it probably won’t. Thierry, I don’t believe our brother Khayr is claiming the Quran is created (Allah forbid such claims) but rather, he speaks not about the Quran but actually Islam not being perfect. But Since the Quran (which is not created and is within itself perfect) is the foundation of Islam, a normal person would think to themselves, how can a religion who's foundation (The Quran) is perfect, not be perfect? So in that case we turn to the Quran and read what Allah said about our Religion and thus the debate should stop. So in this case, Taliban appears to have the stronger proof so thank you brother for your efforts. Just one note about debating. If we debate than let the debates be for a solid cause. Let it be known that debates that are not resolved in this world (and sometimes even if they are) are brought forth before Allah and He shall inform us of that which we have been differing in. I don’t know about yall but I, myself on that Day.....I don’t think my heart will be able to cope with another person stepping forward asking Allah to judge between us in a debate we had in dunya, while Allah looks upon my deeds and makes a judgment. So let’s be wise and enter debates for the sake of Allah. And Allah knows best

Khayr and Aisha, I appreciate your contributions to the thread and may Allah increase us in both knowledge and eman. As for the hadeeth you shared with us Khayr, we are in desperate need of the knowledge that will lead us to develop good manners. One way to start developing good manners is by working towards speaking good. I know your hadeeth in which you shared covered the topic of brotherhood, but brother ....don’t you see how I am connecting your hadeeth with the hadeeth I shared. Speaking good words will result in a better brotherhood amongst us. As for your hadeeth Aisha, you are absolutely right. Its time we throw away the useless Western novels in exchange for the Words of our Lord, may He be glorified. We should honestly be grateful to Allah that we has given us the Quran, the best of all the divine text. So please don’t stop there. Continue to share your hadeeths and verses, for if nobody else contributes to this thread, we are more than enough to keep the knowledge coming. And Allah knows best

Banana&Rice, personally.... I'd rather not take the chance on rolling the dice. This is not 60 or even 100 years we are risking, but rather.....eternity. Did you hear me.....I SAID ETERNITY and that has no fixed time limit. Scary if you actually let it sink into to your head. And Allah knows best

Assalam alaikum I had this idea for awhile and I thought to myself why not bring it up now. Since we are all brothers and sisters in Islam, why don’t we help each other in improving our eman and increasing our knowledge. Here is my proposal. Let anyone who is able to find the time to share a hadeeth or a verse from the Quran, share it. Explain briefly why you felt it was important to share that hadeeth or verse. It just may be that if you take the time to share a hadeeth or a verse and someone else comes across the text and implements it in their lives, it just maybe that on the Day of Recompense, you may find a mountain full of good deeds you had no knowledge of for your efforts. So let everyone strive to improve their account in the hereafter and may Allah make us successful. Since I am in need of all the good deeds I can acquire, I will start it off and I would like to share a hadeeth from the prophet (saw) that was reported in Muslim and the Prophet (saw) said, “So let each one of you save himself from the Hell fire, even by giving half a date fruit. And if you do not find even half a date fruit than say pleasant words” I have understood from this hadeeth that charity is a means of protection for us from the fire and saying pleasant words to your fellows Muslims is also a means of charity. So let us strive to speak good words in order to obtain the good pleasure of our Lord. And Allah knows best

AAliyah, I see you got jokes. How do ya come across this stuff sis? lol And Allah knows best

Assalam alaikum Subhan’Allah we are living in a time where opinions are widespread and knowledge is so limited. But Alhamdulilah, I have come to know the brothers and sisters that are on SOL are not ignorant nor do they argue about matters that Allah will judge between us on the Day of Judgment. In saying that, Sharif, I wonder what is the purpose of adding this new thread? Are you trying to recruit more members for this ideology that is losing faithfuls by the will of Allah? Has your local leader advised you to put this thread up on the internet and maybe than you’ll can convince a person who is not firm in their aqeedah to join you’ll? I’m sorry if I’m coming off harsh but in matters that have to do with aqeedah, there is no other way of approaching them accept directly. So, Sharif wait for the day when Allah will judge between us and the where truth will be visible and falsehood will be thrown aside. "Wait you for we too are waiting"-have you not come across this verse. Just one thing about waiting for the Day of Judgment to determine who was right and who is wrong, if you chose to wait that long, how much benefit will that knowledge be? Rather that knowledge would be used as evidence against us. And Allah knows best P.S. My sincere advice to my fellow brothers and sisters on SOL, lets not argue about aqeedah. Let’s be wise and remain silent and if you have a solid proof that could be helpful, than bring it forth and may Allah guide us all.
