The Zack, It is entirely feasible that the whole thing will be concluded in a week or so. Those who opposed this type of grass roots initiative will soon have a Turkey egg on their face

Somalia: Jubaland conference continues with provisional constitution 2 Apr 2, 2013 - 3:43:52 AM KISMAYO, Somalia Apr 2 2013 (Garowe Online) – The Jubaland conference continued on Monday with the 400 plus delegates reviewing the provisional constitution, Garowe Online reports. The draft constitution was presented to the 400 plus delegates and honorable guests who attended the convening of the Jubaland conference. In attendance guests included former Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali who thanked the convention organizers for inviting him and was optimistic that the state building process would end in success. The delegates were given some time to review the constitution and will return to raise the concerns. After the discussion process the 25 member technical committee will return with another draft that will be put to a vote. The community led Jubaland process was delayed as Prime Minister Shirdon and Ministers from the Somali Federal Government (SFG) arrived in Kismayo last week. Although the SFG disagreed with the Jubaland state process, the state building convention has continued to resume in the port city of Kismayo.

WW, I would not get in Chimera's way - he was hard to stop when Somalia was slipping into the pit . Ii dhaaf Daa'uud Waraqle , he has every right to celebrate for the glimmer of hope and the few bright spots in the land of despair . And actually believe come 10 years time, the discussion about Somalia will be markedly different provided this current administration focus on the real priorities .

^^why talk about Garoweonline then ? or was that a desperation of sort to ignore the lively debate at home You got it wrong , Sage. The reason I follow Somaliland news is 1) that Somaliland is I believe a region of Somalia that I care about, 2) Somalia is undergoing a radical political transformation from separatism to unity and integration with Somalia, and 3) as an avid follower of Somali politics in general, it is quite interesting to see how fellow Northern brothers think and analyze this looming political tsunami. What Hadhwanaagnews writes is clearly an internal debate

Just like the author of this rubbish I can also write whatever I want and post it on the many Somali websites which spout nonsense everyday. But will the garbage on Somali websites like Garoweonline change the realities on the ground in Somaliland. The answer is NO. For the record, the author is a Somalilander (if there is a such thing ) and the website that published his piece is called Hadhwanaagnews.com which is the premier internet news portal for Somaliland

Waranle_Warrior;933107 wrote: Although I think all these cities are beautiful and can be chosen as the Somali capital but I prefer Baraawe. My vote goes to Baraawe, what do you all think. That would be a great pick. And I mean it. But it may not be practical. Sooner or later the status of Mogadishu will be discussed with respect to federalism. The president is avoiding the issue of Upper House and Status of Mogadishu , hoping that he will confuse the issue with the effort to revive Somalia. The question that will inevitably asked as federalism takes off is: Is Mogadishu the capital of federal government, which will be directly administered by the federal government and political representation will be no wise possible for it will be a shared city? Or will it be the capital of a federal region and the capital will have to be moved to somewhere else ? This will be taken up no matter how hard the president tries to avoid addressing it.
