  1. NGONGE's argument: Somaliland is well positioned to win a sanctioned separation from Somalia and Somalia is at disadvantage going into this and may, just may, give the game away . And he talks about crystal ball and whatnot. The PM responds : Saacid wuxuu sheegay in shirkani uu qeyb ka yahay shirarka horumarinta dalka iyo amnigiisa looga arrinsanayo, isla markaana uu qeyb ka yahay dadaalada beesha caalamka ee u wajahan Soomaaliya.
  2. Raysul Wasaare Saacid: Waxaan Maqlayay Dad Shaki Ka Qaba Shirka Turkiga Xuquuqda Qoraalada, sawirada iyo warbixin kasta waxay gaar u tahay Raxanreeb.com (RBC Radio). Lama adeegsan karo, dib looma daabici karo, lama baahin karo ama kambayuutar laguma keydsan karo si toos ah iyo si dadban intuba, haddii aan fasax laga heysan maamulka Raxanreeb.com (RBC Radio). Fadlan hana xadin Raysul wasaaraha Soomaaliya Cabdi Faarax Shirdoon Addis Ababa (RBC) Raysul wasaaraha xukuumadda federaalka Soomaaliya Cabdi Faarax Shirdoon Saacid oo booqasho qaadatay saddex maalmood ku tagay wadanka Ethiopia ayaa ka hadlay shirka ka dhici doona wadanka Turkiga ee dhexmari doona dawlada Soomaaliyeed iyo maamulka goosi-doonka ee Somaliland bishan bartankeeda. Raysul wasaare Saacid oo wareysi siiyey idaacadda VOA ayaa sheegay inuu maqlay dad su’aalo ka qaba shirka Turkiga ee kasoo hormari doona shirka weyn ee ka dhici doona London horraanta bisha May ee soo socota. “Waxaan maqlayey beryahan dad badan oo shaki ka qaba shirka Turkiga waxaan leeyahay waxba haka shakinina wax aad shareysataan ma jiraan.” ayuu yiri raysul wasaaraha oo fasiraad ka bixinayey shirka. Saacid wuxuu sheegay in shirkani uu qeyb ka yahay shirarka horumarinta dalka iyo amnigiisa looga arrinsanayo, isla markaana uu qeyb ka yahay dadaalada beesha caalamka ee u wajahan Soomaaliya. Hadalka raysul wasaaraha dalka ayaa yimid iyadoo maalmo yar ka harsan yihiin shir ay ka wada qeybgali doonaan masuuliyiinta dawlada Soomaaliyeed iyo maamulka Somaliland kaasoo ka dhici doona magaalada Istanbul ee Turkiga. Shirkan Turkiga ayaa dhaliyey su’aalo badan maadaama kulamo hore u dhexmaray labada dhinac ay ka dheceen wadanka Ingiriiska isla markaana uu jiro shirweyne guud ahaan Soomaaliya looga hadlayo oo ka dhici doona London bisha dambe. Warbixin ay dhowaan qortay Raxanreeb Online ayaa muujineysa in shirka Turkiga ay sidoo kale wax ka wado dawlada Ingiriiska oo shirka London wax ku leh qabashadiisa, iyadoo qodobada looga hadlayo shirka Istanbul ay u badan yihiin iskaashiga dawlada Soomaaliya iyo maamulka Somaliland. Ujeedada ugu weyn ayaa ah in si shirka London uu u noqdo mid wada kulmiya dhammaan Soomaalida oo ay ku jirto Somaliland in ka hor la soo yara dhaweeyo mowqifka ay taagan yihiin maamulayaasha Hargeysa si ay u yimaadaan miiska London iyadoo cinwaanka shirkuna yahay “Soomaaliya”

  4. Che, Some of the moves I mentioned represent an overarching IC policy in Somalia. there is a reason why Britain and US are involved in bolstering the security capacity of both Puntland and Somaliland (lets not delve into the quality of such support). Assuming these policies are driven by containing alqaida affiliated groups threat emanating from Somalia, then the presence of such groups in the North as well as in the East of the country only shows that the south is not an isolated place ... Somaliland is a challenge for sure but not close to the challenge posed by alshabaab. Somaliland is led by rationale actors that depend on IC's financial support for the large part. Somaliland is also facing internal political/security strife that is only contained by the help of the IC , I do not expect a rebellion at the admin level -- Siilaanyo saying no would be akin to spitting into the well that sustains you . The Ethiopian invasion might have been ill advised from a Somali prespective, but it could as well have been a convenient means to eliminate a threat from IC's perspective.
  5. ^^Well the little positive political movement we see is due to IC's change of direction. Whether that is due to humanitarian consideration and kindness or a real geopolitical calculation is another matter. But the reality is it is IC that held the London conference, the Turkish Conference, it is them that formulated the road map that ended the transition, it is them that fund this government and support other regional administration SL included. I would agree their involvement has not been optimal, but one cannot credibly dismiss their obvious role in orchestrating the new Somalia.
  6. Che -Guevara;936545 wrote: Since these talks are not in Somalia's interest, this should only be an exercise. Che, this is inline with ICC's promise for Somaliland to make their integration peaceful that does not disturb the stability in the North. Siilaanyo was promised 3 things to bring him into fold: 1) Economic development for the region, 2) Dignified talks with Somalia, 3) International Cover for the union outcome. Our separatists brothers are already liking the first 2 . If you listen to NGONGE and co they are quite content how thier administration is talking to Somalia , and not Puntland or Khatumo . They are also happy with pledged economic development. I can NOT predict how they will react to the third promise when Siilaanyo delivers it though . Oodweyne needs to be near a clinic that day ps. Former Prime Minister Maxamed Cabdi Yusuf is ill informed. He should welcome the talks--talks are always good.
  7. Tallaabo;936542 wrote: Xiin, the ICC is not a world government which decides the fate of all nations. It is a mere organisation set up to safeguard the human rights treaty and bring to justice the war criminals of the weeker nations. Therefore, your question is still irrelevant and depends on many things chief of which is whether the former republic which Somaliland was part of was a member of the ICC. I see you are avoiding to answer the question. I understand the answer (and there is only one answer) brings a hard truth with it---inconvenient for you
  8. Tallaabo, It is not irrelevant question. In fact it is the only question that is relevant regarding changing the political direction of Somaliland. If you conclude that ICC have no leverage on Somaliland, it is fair to say ICC cannot impose a one Somalia solution on Somaliland. If however ICC have leverage on Somaliland (political, financial & security), as I believe the case is, then it is fair to conclude the result of these diplomatic dances will be a unified Somalia. So the question for you is: Does the ICC has a leverage on Somaliland?
  9. ^^You are showing a deep ignorance of how the world works. Unless you are pulling alshabaab on us and do not recognize the world structure A simple question shall clarify this for you: Does the ICC has a leverage on Somaliland?
  10. Tallaabo;936521 wrote: Xiinoow nobody expects Turkey to bless the former republic's dismemberment. It is already dismembered. The reason Silaanyo is in Turkey is to negotiate with the Koonfurian delegation and not to ask Turkey for anything. You can guess, fantasize, or daydream about whatever you what but the truth is Somaliland is negotiating a divorce deal with Mogadishu and the Turks are there only to facilitate those negotiations. Must we always repeat the holes of your argument awoowe? Somaliland as it is represented today is a political facade whose back is quite broken. There are vast regions that Somaliland claims but could not set a foot. The entertainment has ended and this time , those who are in the know, and in the highest echelons of Hargeysa power pyramid fully know what the deal is. It is time to be honest with your self for your own sake. a peaceful integration is still an integration ---and that is what will happen.
  11. Oodweyne, What you call crystal ball is a water tight analysis grounded on current geopolitical reality. Only if you were manly enough to admit recent political trajectories in the country is nothing but a manifestation of the said geopolitical reality. Somaliland is a peaceful region within the legal jurisdiction of Federal Somalia. The London and Stanbul diplomatic dances are nothing but a face saving formalities to complete the inevitable integration of the country. When I say integration, you should read it in political terms.
  12. Faylasuufow, read this report : http://puntlandi.com/jubbaland-state-kismaayo-iyo-beledxawo-qiimaha-guryaha-oo-sare-ukacay-halka-maceeshada-suuqa-ay-hoos-udhacday/
  13. Oodweyne, Turkey's task is very simple one; give our separatists leaders a way out of the current political stagnation they find themselves in and give international cover to the decision the separatist leader will be making regarding integration with the federal government. That, in a nutshell, is the gist of these talks at Stanbul. If you truly think Turkey will bless the dismemberment of poor Somalia, you are more delusional than NGONGE
  14. I am reporting facts. You can tell us what you wish about third party mediation, testing the waters and whatnot.
  15. Turkey to host three-way talks with presidents of Somalia, Somaliland SİNEM CENGİZ, ANKARA Turkey will hold a meeting with leaders of Somalia and Somalia’s autonomous Somaliland region in İstanbul on April 13, according to Turkish diplomatic sources. A senior Turkish diplomat who spoke to Today’s Zaman on the condition of anonymity stated that after the tripartite meeting, which will also be attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Somaliland President Ahmed Mahamoud Silanyo may also come together in a tête-à-tête meeting, adding that the two leaders may also hold talks with Turkish officials in Ankara after their meeting in İstanbul. “Turkey will hold a tripartite meeting with the two leaders in order to facilitate the dialogue between them. This is the first meeting of its kind between the two leaders and Turkey is very pleased that the meeting is taking place in İstanbul. Turkey is ready to do its part for the maintenance of the dialogue between the two leaders. We are facilitating rather than mediating with this meeting,” said the diplomat. Somaliland unilaterally declared its independence as a de facto sovereign state in 1991 after a coalition of clan-based armed opposition groups ousted the nation’s long-standing military government. The area is internationally recognized as an autonomous region of Somalia. According to the diplomat, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan may also come together with the two leaders if his schedule permits. During his first diplomatic visit to Turkey in late December after taking office, Mohamud expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government and the nation for their support and aid and for instilling hope in Somalis. Mohamud, Somalia’s president since last September, was invited to Turkey by his counterpart, President Abdullah Gül. Silanyo visited Turkey in mid-March to have talks with Turkish officials, including Davutoğlu, who pledged to increase aid efforts to Somaliland. During his visit, Silanyo was also scheduled to meet with Erdoğan; however, the meeting had to be canceled due to Erdoğan’s poor health. The diplomat stated that five ministers from the Somaliland side also attended the Davutoğlu-Silanyo meeting, which was closed to the press. Following the meeting between Davutoğlu and Silanyo, the delegations came together over a working meal. According to the diplomat, the sides discussed the projects of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) and other Turkish nongovernmental organizations in Somaliland. “The Turkish foreign minister pledged to increase Turkey’s aid efforts in all regions of Somalia, including Somaliland. He also underlined that Somaliland is of great importance to Turkey due to historical ties that have existed since the Ottoman era,” said the diplomat. According to the diplomat, Davutoğlu also pledged to continue his support for the reconciliation, stability, prosperity and development of Somalia. During the meeting, he also emphasized Turkey’s commitment to the integrity of Somalia, said the source. Aid from Turkey in the aftermath of the 2011 famine in Somalia, the opening of the Turkish Embassy in Mogadishu in November 2011 and a visit by Erdoğan in August 2011 to the country provided momentum for the relationship between Turkey and Somalia. 16. ^^LOL Jaalle Siyaad pictures do not qualify historic or rare
  17. ^^Alas, if you only waited to see the eventual outcome as it is being played out, one would have given you the benefit of doubt. But your active campaigning and voluntary offering of political consulting suggests other wise , namely that you have a lingering fear of the emerging state
  18. ^^No. Land prices of Barawa one can safely say is still depressed as alshabaab has a lock on the city
  19. ^^Oodweyne , you are still at it , are you not? Jubbaland is a federal state , there will be elections, there will be a parliament and there will be economic activity as peace diffident is harvested . And you still entertain that it gets rolled back out of clannish sensibilities
  20. ^^LOL@ lay roots I am afriad Somalia is not suitable for hatching ---at least not yet
  21. Waryaa Somali P, what is up with the queries boowe? Alshabaab are still in Barawa ---they control the city
  22. Yes that is true, Gheelle. I have met a businessman who come back from the town two weeks ago. The city is buzzing with trade of all kinds. Real state, he said, is insane
  23. Odey, just to let you know Carafaat and Xaaji Xunjuf are different sides of a single coin. Carafaat is the tail (the lower cavity), whilist xaaji xunuf is the head (top vent that spews rubbish prayers). Never engage them in a serious manner
