  1. ^^No this has not been the case with Somalia. Somalia wax badan baa usoo kordhay , waxa wadahadaladu socdaan ba waa waa wax sanad ka yar, maantana waxaa la joogaa meesha aan hadda kawada sheekaysanayno. 'Nagaa dee' waa yeeli lahaa, haddii aadan iila hadasheen sidii ardayda Hargeysa high school lagu baro juquraafiga Somaliland Fiiri, by continuous talks, you are suggesting the IC Turkey included) are in this for the kicks of it, and are not expecting an outcome , and reasonably quick one at that. That just cannot be so. Siilaanyo is in London today for a reason. It is not a vacation awoowe
  2. ^^That is way 'duushay' stuff---such feel good speech has no resonance in certain circles waryee
  3. :D @NGONGE Such wishes of continuous talks till the day is ripe for recognition is the stuff only a Hargeysaawi can believe . You know and I know, good NGONGE, these talks are not without assessable purpose, deliverables, and milestones. They even have dates, for Gods sake, to ensure certain commitment from Somaliland and the president. I am not sure what you are referring to when you mention Puntland. For Puntland understands, and is not in the dark with respect to these talks. Khatumo is another matter. They are serving their purpose and I understand where they coming.
  4. I agree with Cigaale's political and oratory skills. But what he hoped for Somaliland has not come to fruition. As apparent in the interview he was hoping a reincarnation of British Somaliland in social and political harmony and unity to either achieve recognition or status equal to that of the south Somalia. Neither is the case today ---don't call it a crystal ball, it is the reality on the ground.
  5. A of S, you are really being superficial with your analysis, reducing the whole thing to a Puntland envy of Somaliland. What Puntland is , and its significance in Somali politics can be appraised in a different thread. But regarding the successful meeting that took place in Ankara, the 7 point communique makes clear the scope of that meeting---security cooperation and development money allocation. You are milking the impressive pictures , which shows some level of desperation on your side. Yours is not even a crystal ball, it is outright day dream to ignore or sweep under the carpet the consequence of legitimate government in Mogadishu with respect to international relations. In 90 days, another round of talks will commence. And it is in the upcoming talks that the core issues are expected to be taken up. If you disagree with that, then say so. The analogy I made would have been palatable had it not contained the word Puntland. That is just being fickle ...
  6. ^^Perhaps presidential guard compound
  7. My stance is to be practical , and do what it is feasible , politically and constitutionally. The government should not get in the political affairs with respect to local governance. Facilitate reconciliation, broker peace and encourage legitimate governance --that should be president Hassan's internal policy . Period. Kismayo should be a lesson for them. ps. this is by the way very valuable yet free advice
  8. LOL@I can't believe I'm defending a non-existant rail-network, You should. What you are defending is not specific infrastructure per se --it is the vision of better Somalia, the hope , and what is possible in Somalia when peace returns . That is what you are defending Chimera. I envy your constant optimism , which I deeply share but I, at times, get disappointed by the lack of national priorities and how easily our national leaders can be distracted from the big picture ...
  9. This could explain why Hassan Sheekh was postponing his trip to Puntland---Faroole promised him an oasis of serenity away from Oba and his ilk's political noise and alshabaab bombs waa kaftan, kuwa jilicsan intaysan igusoo didin
  10. Once the grass and gardens are tended , this will be an iconic scenic, a sign of Somalia's recovery and revival of its glorious days .
  11. ^^I said at the beginning of this thread this talks will continue, and within 90 days we will find out how both parties approach the core issues. But thus far what has transpired in Ankara were limited in scope, and were not, substantively, different what took place in Garoowe minus the diplomatic fanfare and historic pictures of Turkey and Somali leaders. That is what I said. I do not understand your objection---perhaps your frustration with Puntland is getting in the way of properly judging the scope of the Ankara event.
  12. Oodweyne I was not discussing anything---just informing you the truth of the matter. security and development agreements between Federal Government, and an autonomous region of Somalia. That is all
  13. nice This is a good progress Abullaahi Yusuf built the Boosaaso Place, and now Puntland has a Garoowe presidential palace Well done faroole
  14. Oodweyne, You are more concern with formats than substance , aren't you? FG has entered a security and development agreements with both administration, which is indicative of how the IC views both political entities from jurisdictional standpoint as entities that will be covered under the future agreement (development aid, security capacity building, and other international engagement with Somalia) with federal government. That is in essence what happened in Turkey. Now the political talks between the two parties will be commenced soon as the communique informs, and that is (I think) where the talks will divert substantively from those held in Garoowe You don't have to always defend the nonsense that is seceding from Somalia. These talks are the last rites for that dead horse of yours awoowe
  15. Oodweyne, I did say the truth would anger you. Federal government at this phase of the talks does not need (politically) to consult with Khatumo or any other group because what is being talked about as apparent in the communique revolve around security and development. Remind me what was the scope of the talks Federal government held with Puntland?
  16. A_Khadar, and I know this is going to buy me our separatist brother's wrath, think of the meeting between FG and SL as akin to the one that took place in Garoowe with Faroole and Saacid. Federal Government is trying to show that it has a good relationship with all political stakeholders of the country. Talks with Somaliland has a particular value since they concern to an administration that has long maintained its independence from the Somalia proper's politics. Now they are being courted to come on board, this is the first date, and I like the fanfare --and you too should like it as well
  17. LOL@STOIC I only bombard with the readership of this forum when there is a consequential political undertaking is about to take effect. I don't see what happened in Ankara in that light. To be sure, it is a significant foreplay of a yet to come political paradigm shift in the North (not in the south), but even the foreplay is executed in an impressive diplomatic manner .
  18. If our separatists brothers appraisal of Ankara meeting is based on the reaction of Khaatumo or any other group then I guess there is no argument to be had here
  19. ^^Carafaat, let Oodweyne whom I expect to have a bit more depth than you, speak first, will ye?
  20. Oodweyne, I know what I am talking about, apparently you (characteristic of your type) are happy with the pictures. I am reading the substance of the talks, I am happy with it. An immediate remedy has been provided to get Somaliland going, and the talks will continue--within 90 days there will be another meeting in Ankara. All I am saying is what happened is a positive thing, was handled in the best way, and should not cause any concerns to the unionists. I am sure the separatists are concern.
  21. This is a good beginning . So far so good. Lets see how both leaders handle the next, and the more consequential (politically speaking) phase of the talks.
  22. This is an ill-informed letter; there is no reason for concern. President Hassan is very wise to engage dare I say save Somaliland from a biting isolation that could result an unnecessary political implosion. What came out of Turkey is a pleasant news. One is well advised to wait the completion of the talks before one assumes bad intent on the president approach.
