Somaliland Will Attend the London Conference?
xiinfaniin replied to Che -Guevara's topic in Politics
I am not sure what is holding NGONGE back to accept the reality. Whether in the form of ministerial delegation or the old man himself, Somaliland will most likely attend London Conference. NGONGE despite his efforts to sound deep is spinning nonsense when he argues against that simple point. In was in Istanbul when Somaliland after announcing strong opposition against attending Istanbul Conference quietly flew from Hargeysa with a delegation led by Mohamed Abdullaahi , and participated the conference with other Somali political entities. I never heard a word of protest as to why the admin did a turn around about that conference. Actually the Somaliland delegation were housed in the same Hotel with the rest of other Somali delegates , they were there like the rest of Somalis , intermingling with their brothers from Mogadishu , Puntland and Galmudug (I was there to witness one session of salaan iyo booqasho between Somaliland and one side of Somali politics which if one reads Oodweyne, Mintid and NGONGE's talk , one would find hard to believe it could actually happen) . Marka aayara waraaqaha aad qoraysaan, because simply put this online separatist nonsense has no place in reality... -
Oodweyne;939897 wrote: This president needs to deal with reality head on. And by that I mean he needs to accept that Ethiopia is here to stay in Somalia since she has many rats of hers infested in the border regions of south Somalia. And therefore that being the case he needs to ask the international community (IC) and Qadari royal family in particular, who funds his government, to fund the Ethiopia forces in Somalia. And in return he must secure the full cooperation of the Ethiopia regime without a third Somali party, such her Somali rats, getting in the way between the two governments. This means the deal will be to say to the Ethiopia that he will get money for her army in Somalia but she in turn will have to stop double dealing him. And from now on it will be two governments understanding without the third party such as her Somali rats in the border regions getting in the way. This is the "gentleman deal" or if you like "power-to-power-agreement" he must struck with those who run Ethiopia. Hence lets hope Mr Ismail Gheulleh of Djibouti will help him in securing this deal for Somalia from the Ethiopians. As for the new kikuye boy in charge of Kenya. Similarly he needs to cut a deal with him. And that deal will be to say that Somalia is willing to accept kenya to have her "oil concessions" in the regions of jubbaland she has her eyes on it, provided two conditions are met. And they are, firstly that the oil deal has to be fair to Somalia, after all its her sovereign territory. And secondly Kenya must give up complete any notion of having this Jubbaland as a "buffer zone" for her. Hence if those two points are agreed upon by both parties then Somalia will be more than happy for Kenya to have a bit of "oil cake" from Somalia through some sort of government to government political deal. This is, again, a "gentlemen agreement" in which this president of Somalia must offer to the Kenyans, particularly if he wants to retain some sort of nominal control over the Jubbaland affair. Everything else is a loser for him and for his country. LOL One thought in 2013 the enemy clan or as our brothers like to call them the defeated lot would have actually be defeated. It seems it has become the priority of Mogadishu and Hargeysa intelligentsia to defeat the enemy clan, which means Oodweyne's earlier festive speech about the fate of this mighty clan has been quite premature But some how the clan Oodweyne of London hates so passionately calls him and his entity a brother in need and devised a binding strategy that fixes the political bug and an enhanced federalism framework...

Somalia the yardstick in new deal for conflict-affected countries

His version of events is accepted by no historian
xiinfaniin replied to Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar's topic in Politics
Faroole is a stakeholder. Whether his version of history is accepted is a moot point. What is not in doubt is that his version of federalism has been accepted by the very powers whom wikileaks cites as a source for this report. Today it is Faroole who is having the last lough, and the rest including our separatist brothers here are nothing but mere reactionaries to his initiatives. Give credit where credit is due ---the man not only has a prominent finger in Somali politics but his dhabayaco foot is also there. And like Gheelle pointed out a 2009 report is hardly a sign to gouge the relationship between Faroole and the IC. It is funny Mintid is still shouting from Hargeysa roof top to protest Faroole's role in Somali politics. ps. It is interesting that Mintid and Oodweyne and thier children have given up on Jubbaland initiative, and now accept it as a reality on the ground -

AfricaOwn, Siilaanyo is a man with deep pockets, and he comes from a strong clan but that is not what enables him to silence Faysal's useless noise. As we said many times, Siilaanyo has the support of IC, and Faysal and many other politicians will get in line when the bush comes to shove. The only thing Siilaanyo should be concern with is how to procure the excuse of attending the London Conference to the consumption of the average man/woman in the street. The old man did well on Ankara meeting with pictures and all. But the Youtube that was aired about his meeting with Cameron may not do the trick this time

^^Ahmed Islaan is not a Sheekh. As far as I know he never was a muxaadir or waacid, but he was and still is a strong leader produced by Sahwa Islaamiya in Somalia.

Fishing in the shallow , Mintid ? It is always customary for one to insist not be referred to as a Sheekh out of modesty , to show respect. The campaign is showing deferential ...

NGONGE;939595 wrote: Wayahy! I sometimes do wonder if maybe SL should just stay with the union. These guys can't function without us, it seems. They have months of Kismaayo stories and the parliment does nothing, they see a meeting with Somaliland the sixty sleepy members wake up to protest! Kismayo was not about the unity of the country , NGONGE. Somaliland stands for the dismemberment of Somalia, that is why passion is very high in the parliament and Dr. Ali was able to collect more than 60 signatures to debate the matter . The rule requires only 10

I am pleased of the recent development of Madoobe consolidating support from the larger base (you know what I mean) to ensure smooth election and secure outcome .

Current Somaliland Foreign Policy - A Rudderless Ship?
xiinfaniin replied to Mintid Farayar's topic in Politics
^^You reasoned very well in your earlier post or so I thought (SL being in a quandary in the context of the new IC policies toward Somalia) . Why turn around and reduce that larger argument to foreign policy personnel ? That is cheap of you, Mintid. This is much larger than Mohamed Abdullaahi. -
Johnny B as always presents good argument. But that he does not understand Dr. Khalif's angle is a disappointment. Ali is a Khatumo rep in Somali Parliament. Talks about the fate of his region are being held by President Hassan and Siilaanyo, and no one consulted him about it. He says that is wrong. Johnny B's suggestion of voilance also misses the point for the era of strong man and militias are history in Somalia. One thing I agree is that the talks are good step toward reaching a solution. and the both President Hassan and Siilaanyo are well advised to continue talking. Dr. Ali should also continue to advocate for the inclusion of Khatumo into these talks.

Saudi Arabia deports ‘irresistible’ men deemed ‘too handsome’ to women 18 Apr 2013 Three men were forcibly removed from an annual culture festival in Saudi Arabia and subsequently sent back to the UAE after it was deemed that women could find them irresistible. By Romil Patel saudi1The delegates from the United Arab Emirates were in attendance at the Jenadrivah Heritage & Culture Festival in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, when religious police officers stormed the stand and evicted the men because “they are too handsome,” according to the Arabic language newspaper, Elaph. “A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the Commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them,” Elaph reported. The UAE released an official statement indicating that the religious police were anxious over the unexpected presence of an unnamed female artist in the pavilion. “Her visit to the UAE stand was a coincidence as it was not included in the programme which we had already provided to the festival’s management,” Saeed Al Kaabi, head of the UAE delegation to the festival, said in a statement. It was not clear if the woman’s presence was related to the decision to evict the “handsome” Emirati men. Following the incident, Elaph said the festival’s management took swift action to deport the trio back to Abu Dhabi, capital of the Emirates. With a majority Sunni Muslim population, Saudi Arabia is a deeply religious and ultraconservative society which forbids women from interacting with unrelated males and refuses to accord them with the same rights as men. It is the only country in the world where women are banned from driving. Change could be on the horizon, however, with billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal recently expressing his support for female drivers. “The question of allowing women to drive in Saudi Arabia will save more than 500,000 jobs in addition to the social and economic benefits,” the prince tweeted on Sunday. It is estimated that eight million foreigners work in Saudi Arabia and thousands have been dismissed from their jobs and then deported as part of a government effort against foreigners who live and work illegally in the country. :D @ Suldaan & Oodweyne As if the pirates have shrewdly and collectively decided to prepare such an event, I have observed a significant increase in pirate boys marrying Hargeysa girls. Of course this strategy hinges on our brothers in the North remaining culturally observant as they have traditionaly been, treating their pirate in-laws with respect
-
^^Understood your point. But to be fair if such an event transpires, Siilaanyo will not be blamed for he was able to bring along with him all of the opposition as well as the parliament and guurti leaders. Domestically he will have his cover as procured in his 'la tashi qaran' or strategic consultation with all stakeholders. And he will have thier finger prints over all the major trips, and conversations. With respect to the International Community (whose influence our brothers dismiss and scoff by citing the 'resolve' of the Hargeysa 'street'), they will have his back and will ensure he survive the expected tumult.

^^ :D ku noqo. Haddii kale saadanbaad garan. It will come down to a Somalia wide referendum. It has to. Other wise we the pirates will intervene

Somaliland Will Attend the London Conference?

^^NGONGE thinks Somaliland is a country with a strong leadership -
^Oodweyne, I am sure you knew all along (despite the seemingly hard stance) that it will come down to a referendum. And the argument the unionists will have will not be no-to-referendum, at least it should not be, for the numbers are on their side, and with petro-money filling in the New Blood's pockets, the unionists should be comfortable with this idea. Rather it will be all Somali people should decide the fate of the republic. If you didn't at least anticipate such argumentation, you are not from a Yonis Mother blood--they were known for thier guurti tradition
